Be sure to look at the previous update.

New Diamond and Pearl Pokemon – An upcoming issue of the Pokemon magazine, Pokemon Wonderland, contains two new (maybe even more) Pokemon on the front cover of its magazine. These Pokemon are too freaky-looking to be Pokemon you would find in the wild, so perhaps they are the Kyogre and Groudon of Diamond and Pearl. They have the same color schemes as the Diamond and Pearl logos, and they appear to have jewels on both of them (maybe a… diamond and pearl?) Pretty interesting! There also appears to be at least one new Pokemon on the top-center of the magazine that is purple, next to what looks like a mini-Plusle, next to what looks like a Minun, which is then next to a Buoysel.

New Diamond and Pearl Pokemon

Ash Catches a… – In the recent episode in Japan, Ash caught an Aipom. Why would he catch a Gold and Silver Pokemon so late in the series, when they are going to move on to the Diamond and Pearl region soon? Methinks Aipom is going to have an evolution in Diamond and Pearl, which would make sense considering it’s a basic and could use an upgrade in the games.

Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense Rayquaza exIf today gets any hotter, I will kill someone. Not really. :p But just so that you know, it has been proven that on hot days, there is more violence and murders than on regular days, which is why the summer is the time in which there are more murders than any other time of the year. Just don’t get mad at someone on a hot day – the heat will get to you and you will do / say things you don’t mean.

Furthest Ends Scans, Translations, Set List – We now have all of the scans for the Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense! For once, I am putting the Japanese scans on an actual page, instead of in a news update where you have to go looking for them all over the place when trying to find them. You can view them by clicking here. Also, Bangiras finished the theme deck spoilers for the set, which you can view towards the bottom of the set spoilers by clicking here.

New Card Reviews – Our Strategists have recently reviewed Flygon from EX Holon Phantoms and Vileplume from the same set. Click here to view the list of articles, and click the reviews you want to read.

EDIT #3: The spoilers for the theme decks have been added to the spoiler page. I am now working on the scans and they should be up in a while.

EDIT #3: Make the scans tomorrow, again. I have to finish an essay for summer school and study for a test tomorrow. Too much work in one day! Grr!

EDIT #2: Scans tomorrow. Too busy trying to finish this layout.

EDIT: All translations have been finished by Bangiras. Click the link below to read all of them. Scans will be here in an hour or two.

Furthest Ends Translations and Scans – Bangiras has kindly translated some of the “Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense” set (not the commons and uncommons, yet). You can view the spoilers, as well as the set list, by clicking here. We may have more scans later on today, although since the set has not officially been released yet, it is doubtful. Click the thumbnails of Mew * and Charizard * to see larger scans.

PichuSkip this if you don’t want to read a long story. So last night, I couldn’t sleep. I got on to my laptop around 2 AM, and decided that I wanted to backup the forums, site, and my computer. I backed up the site first, then moved on to the forums, and then started to burn everything off of my computer to a DVD disc. Mind you, I had never backed up the forums before, and did not know how, so I spend about 30 minutes reading on how to do it, then took another 20 minutes to back it up. Exactly three minutes after backing up the forum, I refresh the page, and some hacker message pops up from some dudes in Turkey. o_O First I thought it was a joke, then after typing the site into Google, I find out they have been targeting myBB forums all over the net (they discovered a security flaw and exploited it – they even hacked into Firefox’s forum!). They had hacked into the Admin Control Panel and basically took control of the forum, made a mess of it, and then redirected the site to their own. At that point, I was extremely tired, so I went to bed, woke up to about forty e-mails from people telling me about it, then I went to summer school. Later on, NeoGreatFox and Arty2 tried to help me restore my forums, but nothing was working – none of the fixes the makers of the forum were telling me to do were working either! Luckily, I had that one backup, uploaded it, and everything worked again! Then I upgraded the forum so that people could never do it again. So yeah, that’s my story for today! :p Funny how the ONE time that I backup the forums, and exactly THREE minutes after finishing backing it up, people hack into it and wreck it. If I didn’t have that backup, we would had lost everything.

I was going to post this yesterday, but I did not got the chance to do so:

EX Crystal GuardiansEX Crystal Guardians Description – I forgot to post this the other day. It is the official set description of EX Crystal Guardians. Click the thumbnail on the right for a larger picture.

* Unleash the power of favorite Pokémon as new Pokémon Delta Species!
* 10 new Pokémon-ex, including 1 Pokémon-ex Delta Species! (which we know is Sceptile)
* Discover mysterious crystals that will change how Pokémon Trainers do battle!
* Expand your strategy by collecting all 100 cards!
* Complete a collection of holographic parallel set!

So all we really learn from the above description is that there will be 10 EXs in the set. And with 10 EXs, as well as Alakazam* and Celebi *, I doubt we will get the Eeveelution *’s that we have been wanting for a while now. That would be seventeen ultra-rare cards (10 EXs, 7 *’s), and that’s too much for one set. When will we ever get them? POP4?

I have internet again! Turns out the problem was a combination of a lot of factors – so many factors that the technician had thought someone sabotaged our DSL. (A) The phone jack that the DSL was plugged into was fried, (B) the last technician that was over screwed up our wiring and fried a connector, (C) Verizon had disabled something with our modem, (D) a splitter that was connected to our line in the attic was defective, and (E) the computer that it was hooked up to had a broken ethernet card. The technician said there was no way it all could had been an accident, so he called Verizon’s main office to see who had been over last to fix our internet. Turns out that they had no record of someone coming down to our house a few weeks ago to fix our DSL when there was – no one knows who the guy was that came into our house! Maybe someone who wanted my site to die for a few weeks? :p Anyways, I’m back, and we have the most Furthest Ends info you’ll ever see in one update!

No news today, just an update on stuff. Tomorrow, Verizon (my DSL provider) will be sending a guy down to my house to fix our DSL, since the wires are, for some reason, messed up. I should have regular internet again tomorrow, and then I will be able to do things again. Also, the layout is just about done – I just need some people to test it for me. I think I will add it to the site when it is done, and then add the new content throughout the summer. I don’t think I am going to finish R/S this week with all the layout stuff I have been doing – it will probably take the rest of the week to add the layout anyways (probably even some of next week). So, if all goes well (which it never does, but maybe it will for once), I can start hard-core, sitting down for six hours at a time, drinking lots of water, watching Miyazaki movies in the background, getting headaches from staring at the LCD for so long, acquiring cramps in my hands, SCAN editing by sometime mid next week (you have to be me to understand this sentence). When I finish editing the EX blocks, I’ll go back in time to Base Set.

New layout is almostttttt done. I just need to work on the right menu and the drop-down menu’s content. I’m not sure if I will implement it yet, though. We’ll see soon. Also, I will update our Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense page tomorrow with all of the new info we have when I have time.

More Furthest End Info – Bangiras has translated new information regarding the set’s contents. First off, there will be attacks in the set that distribute damage differently than past Pokemon attacks. These two attacks represent this idea, and there will be others just like them in the set:

80 damage. Before doing damage, you may choose 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. If you do, this attack does 40 damage to that Pokemon and 40 damage to the Active Pokemon instead.

80 damage. If the Defending Pokemon has less than 80 HP remaining, select 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. That Pokemon takes the remaining damage.

Also, two new spoilers, and a correction on Dragonite ex from yesterday. Remember, all Pokemon in the set are Delta Species.

Lickitung – (P)
[C] Collect: Draw 2 cards.
[P] Delta Mind: Does 10 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. If the Pokemon is Delta Species, this attack does 20 damage instead.

Feraligatr (ex? – hopefully not)
PokeBody: The attack damage of Delta Species Pokemon in play is increased by 10 (at this point, we are not sure if it is all Pokemon, or just yours).
(?)(?) Drag Off – 20 damage: Typical Drag Off attack text.
(?)(?)(?) Unknown Name – 60 damage.

Dragonite ex
It has two attacks, the first requiring two energy, and the second requiring three. It does not have three attacks.

Old Rod is being reprinted, not Super Rod.

The following Pokemon will also be in the set: Gligar, Pinsir, Milotic, Quagsire, Arbok, and Ninetales. Milotic is a fire-type.

And that’s it for today! Remember to keep checking back here, as we are your #1 source for the Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense (in fact, I think we are the only source for it….).

Salamence ex – Water – 150 HP

Poke-Power: Type Change

It’s one in the morning and I have almost finished the new layout! This update is probably one of my more informal ones – I am too tired to sound professional tonight. :p

Pokemon TCG Website – Attention official Pokemon TCG Website updaters! The “Worlds 2006” wallpaper link on your website does not link to any wallpaper at all, but to some red foreign website! Better fix it before people notice! (oooops…) This update was going to be about the new wallpaper on the official TCG site in celebration of Worlds, but the link unfortunately takes you to some website titled “dev taso.” The link also contains the words “Michael” and “Jackson” on the page, and mentions a couple of times “18” and “$,” so I think it would be wise for someone to fix that link ASAP. Not to mention the background image of vodka. Is this a new way to play the TCG or something? ::

New Layout Progress – Unlike a certain other website that is keeping their new layout a big secret, I am showing you the progress with ours! The picture below is a small, unrevealing preview of what the new layout will basically look like (it looks pretty basic from the screenshot, but it’s not). I have purposely “messed up” the header and images in it because I don’t want anyone seeing them until the layout is done. Anyways, from the picture below, you can see that the new layout will involve a “drop-down” menu and a right menu, with the left menu gone. With the drop-down menu, you won’t have to scroll halfway down the page to get those Fake TCG blanks! You’ll just access the menu at the very top and pick whatever you want. The right menu will basically be the same as before, just with the content in a different order and an absence of quizzes. Also, the new layout will allow me to change the themes of the site easier, such as the header and background-image that will now be in the layout, which makes my life easier and gives more variety to the site. Anyways, I probably am not making too much sense since I am so tired, so I am going to go to sleep! I did not spell check / grammar check this, so forgive me for any errors!

New TCG Game Mechanics – “Seal” and “Ele Mark” – Thanks to Bangiras, we have new information regarding “The Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense” and the new game mechanics that will be introduced with Tyranitar ex and Gardevoir ex. Read all about it below, and be sure to discuss it in this forum topic.

Gardevoir Deck
– Gardevoir’s Poke-Power, Seal, lets you put a Seal Marker on 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. A Pokemon with a Seal Marker on it can’t use any Poke-Powers or Poke-Bodies!
– The Poke-Power, Seal, can even be used to put a Seal Marker on your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, so you’ll have to choose which Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies you really need sealed.
– The Seal Marker can only be removed by evolving or de-evolving a Pokemon.
– Jynx d has a Poke-Body, “Stages of Evolution” that, if Jynx is an Evolved Pokemon, makes the retreat cost of each of your Fire-type and Psychic-type Pokemon 0. It also has the attack Fire Punch, which does 30 damage to the Defending Pokemon.
– Vibrava d has a Bite attack that does 20 damage, and Sonic Noise, which does 30 damage and Confuses Pokemon-ex.

Tyranitar Deck
– Tyranitar’s attack, Ele Mark, lets you place a Thunderquake Marker on 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. It’s Hyper Claw does 70 damage. If the Defending Pokemon is a Stage 2 Evolved Pokemon, the attack does an additional 20 damage, for a total of 90!
– The focal attack is Thunderquake, which lets you choose 1 Pokemon with a Thunderquake Marker on it and Knock Out that Pokemon! Tyranitar ex d drops lightning bolts on the Pokemon with no regard for Weakness, Resistance, or remaining HP.
– Evolving or De-evolving a Pokemon removes the Thunderquake Marker, so complete the Ele Mark and Thunderquake combo as quickly as you can.
– Seadra d’s Smash attack does 20 damage, and Extra Ball does 30 damage plus an additional 30 if the Defending Pokemon is Pokemon-ex.
– Electabuzz d has the Poke-Power “Evolutionary Strength” which, if Electabuzz is an Evolved Pokemon, lets you draw 1 card, and the attack Swift. Swift does 30 damage to the Defending Pokemon regardless of Weakness or Resistance.

School ends TOMORROW! Still no stable internet, though! A technician is coming down next week to look at our house’s wiring to see if there is a problem.

EX Crystal GuardiansFirst EX CG Scans – Thanks to Lorelei, we now have two scans of cards from EX Crystal Guardians – Charizard and Sceptile ex. These scans come from a piece of paper given out at the Norwegian Nationals telling about the EX CG pre-releases, and luckily, Lorelei was able to scan them for us! However, they are in black and white, but it is still better than nothing since you get to see them in English! These scans show us that there will be 100 cards in the set, and since the original Japanese set only had 75 cards, we should be getting some new cards in the set, possibly from Furthest Ends. We also may get new cards that Japan does not even have yet, just like in EX Emerald last year when we had Scott and Battle Frontier before Japan did. Anyways, click the thumbnails below for larger versions.

Charizard - EX Crystal Guardians Sceptile ex - EX Crystal Guardians

New Layout Progress – I have been slaving over working on the new layout, and it’s coming together nicely. The only problems I keep having is making it compatible with Internet Explorer in certain regards, since Internet Explorer is so outdated and does not meet today’s standards of web design and coding (which is one of the reasons why you should all use Firefox!). I think I will probably have it done next week, but I probably will not integrate it into the site until Internet Explorer 7 comes out sometime in the summer. That way, I can see what I need to change in the layout, since most people do use IE and will probably upgrade. Also, in my internet downtime, I have been working on EX R/S scans, and have about 80% of the set done. They should be put up next week, and then I can start on EX Sandstorm.

EDIT #2: Added more D/P info. I’ll add more later.

EDIT: Edited with new news story regarding EX CG’s logo.

Still limited internet. I can’t even get on for five minutes now.

Pokemon Diamond and PearlNew Diamond and Pearl InformationFilb.de has reported the following information regarding Pokemon Diamond and Pearl:

– The new region “Shinou” is based on the Japanese island, Hokkaido. (WPM Note: Which means the new region will look something like this, possibly rotated.)
– The new professor is named “Nanakamado.”
– 90% of the Pokemon can evolve. (WPM Note: Thanks to Boofu for translating this particular line. The translator did not want to translate it right. I suppose it means 90% of the Pokemon are involved in an evolution line.)
– There is again a time-function in the game.
– One of Manaphy’s attacks is Heart Swap (WPM note: In the Manga, Manaphy uses this ability to switch Pokemon and people’s bodies. For example, it switches Ash and Ranger Jackie’s body, Jesse and Meowth’s body, etc. Not sure how this will work in attack form, though.)
– The new PokeNav-type machine is located on the trainer’s arm and is called Poketchi (it’s like a watch).
– The next issue of CoroCoro will not have any new Pokemon in it.
Added info from original post::
– Male and Female Pokemon now have different sprites and variations.
– There is now night time, night, evening, noon, and morning.
– The PokeDex now has weight comparison where you can compare your weight to Pokemon.
– Buoysel is #56 in the PokeDex.

EX Crystal Guardians Logo – It’s right below and it looks like one of the best logos yet! Thanks to hummers2187 for notifying us of the logo’s existence!

Just six… more… days… school…bye…bye…

Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense Scans – Latios ex (DS – W) and Latias ex (DS – R) will be available in the main set, Seadra (DS – F) and Electabuzz (DS – F) will be in the Tyranitar theme deck, and Jynx (DS – R) and Vibrava (DS – P) will be available in the Gardevoir theme deck. This means we more than likely will be getting Horsea, Kingdra, Smoochum (possibly), Vibrava, Flygon, and Elekid (possibly) in the set as well (the theme decks, at least). The booster packs and theme deck pictures are also below. Remember, the Furthest Ends of Offense and Defense will be released on June 29th in Japan, and we will have the scans here early as usual!

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew PosterLucario and the Mystery of Mew Poster – The other day I posted three “Lucario and the Mystery of Mew” posters, with one being extremely small. Well, thanks to LilLatias, we now have a larger version of it. Click the thumbnail on the right to view the larger version.

Card Review: Delcatty ex – Our Card Strategists have reviewed Delcatty ex this week. Holy Star will also now be in charge of the card reviews from now on, since I have no time to organize and edit the reviews anymore. Few more days until I get another new modem!

Pokemon Battle Revolution (Wii) – The newest Pokemon game coming out in Japan will be Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Nintendo Wii, which will be released sometime in 2007, several months after Diamond and Pearl are released. It will be the Stadium / Colosseum / XD of Diamond and Pearl, and will obviously feature improved graphics, including updated Pokemon models (even for R/S Pokemon!). Pokemon actually make physical contact with each other and their attacks interact with the arena as well! It’s about time we had interaction like this! Pokemon Battle Revolution will also be able to link up to Diamond and Pearl through the Nintendo DS. Click the screenshot below to watch a pre-release video of the game (if it doesn’t open or does not play correctly, right click the image and save the link to your computer to watch the video).
