Full ‘Champion’s Path’ Set List: Shiny Charizard V, Rainbow Rare Charizard VMAX!

We now have the full set list for Champion’s Path!

Our set includes Japan’s rainbow rare Charizard VMAX! But not only that, it includes a surprise Charizard V… as a shiny! The rainbow rare Charizard VMAX was given a limited print run for winning tournaments in Japan.

The shiny Charizard V hasn’t been seen in Japan yet. Presumably it will come from their future Shiny Star V set. We’re also getting an Eldegoss V with alternate artwork, which may be a future promo card in Japan. These are the only never-before-seen cards in our set.

Every booster pack of Champion’s Path comes with one guaranteed holo card. The set also includes reverse holo basic Energy — including Fairy Energy. They take the reverse holo slot, obviously, and are randomly dispersed in booster packs.

Our set is a “mishmash” set. It’s comprised of cards from Eruption Walker, Infinity Zone, Legendary Heartbeat, Shocking Volt Tackle, the V Starter Decks, the Charizard and Grimmsnarl VMAX decks, unreleased promo cards, and a couple of reprints. It’s all over the place!

There is no sub-set, but there are seven secret rare cards (listed below). Perhaps we’ll get those unreleased full arts of Red, Green, and Blue for Pokemon’s 25th anniversary in February. Who knows?!

The first Champion’s Path products will begin to release on September 25th. You can see all revealed products here. The set’s booster packs will only be available within promo boxes, like our previous holiday sets. They will not be sold individually.

Thanks goes to Tino for exclusively sending us this news!

It all does feel very over the place. I feel like this set lacks the charm previous holiday sets had. It feels more like pure filler than anything.

Well shoot. I didn't want to have to buy Champion's Path stuff but now I kinda have to if I want that shiny Zard. I just hope I get lucky like I did with Hidden Fates...

Problem is I want literally nothing else out of this set because I don't care at all about the Gen 8 TCG. The singles are going to be stupid expensive so there's kind of just a weird rut that it makes people like myself stuck in. Ugh.

They knew this set was mediocre at best so they added that Charizard so the masses would throw their money at this.

You all better start getting your pre-orders now. If you're unlucky, you can't cry me a river. Many had PLENTY of time to preorder, but waited for a "subset." It's your last chance before price spikes exponentially.

Oh definitely, but I think it'll be a mistake if they underprint a set like this. Early Hidden Fates was basically ruined because of that until we got tin reprints which made it a little better. I would hope overtime they print to actually meet demand and hit that nice equilibrium spot rather than go completely under where it should be to the point where scalpers ruin everything.

That would have been nice but I lost all hope for that a couple of months back. I'm gonna be really salty if they completely exclude the rest of those Alt. Art Tag Teams and the like. Those cards shouldn't be forced to be JP exclusives if it's such a large part of the Sun and Moon collection.
