your correct there are 2 different machines that do the transfering for pokemon.the transfer machine in Castelia city is for only the event pokemon and the other one on route 15 is for the reg pokemon.

I have a question, in order to obtain the National Pokedex in Black/White do you have to obtain Zorua and/or Zoroark first or does it not matter?

No, like all generations there is no cross-generation battling (did Gen 1+Gen 2 do it?)

Sean, I'm pretty sure your Starter can be Shiny. It's been able to be Shiny before...I have a hard time believing they would change that in these games.
