Biweekly Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XX​

Rules and Entry Information

1.) Signups will again be based on the order in which submissions are made, meaning that all entries are to be made upfront (either here or via PM to me). The limit for entries is again set at fifteen participants. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be swapped out for something else or altered in any way.

2.) Submissions are expected to be haiku-style short poems (those with a “five-seven-five” syllable format spread out across three lines). However, other types of short poems will be accepted so long as they don’t exceed four lines in length. New entries will be accepted until Wednesday, May 16, 2012 around noon, until all slots have been filled, or the thread sits several days without new entries.

3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round). This contest’s theme is My Little Pony (Love it or hate it, that's what it is this round!).

4.) Voting will run for three days and be open to all members of PokéBeach. Everyone will be allowed to vote for up to three of their favorites. All participants are required to vote, but may not vote for their own unless more than eight entries are recieved. If there are less, then you cannot and will be docked a point if you're caught doing so.

Updated! I had my heart set on using MLP for a contest theme before, but knew it wouldn't go over so well with some people, so I didn't...
 
I´ll not do a haiku this time. (I always have...) Honestly I would prefer it if these were haikus only, as that puts everyone on the same line. :3

Updated. The only reason I changed it to include short poems too was because a lot of people missed the proper syllable count.
 
I don't know much about MLP, but I guess I'll give this a try....

Updated in full! Sorry for the delay, but I wasn't able to get online via computer since last Tuesday because I didn't have Wi-fi access after my grandma got released from the nursing home or time to get to my local library until today.

Also, I may want to consider instituting a rule about keeping submission titles shorter than the actual poem...or perhaps not since it hasn't been an issue thus far...

Yeah, I'm not sure if Apollo is 2 or 3 syllables, if it is 3 then I have a nice little short poem if not it's a haikou :)

BTW Rarity is much much better looking than Celestia :p
 
Updated, and the poll has been posted. Any last minute entries will be accepted until 5:00PM CST, though, to fill the four remaining slots. Afterwards, no more will be taken.
