I think they went a little too far with the Thomas Thomas thing. I was clever, but a little too unrealistic.

Darkrai My first deck was built around Darkrai lvl X. It wasn't that great, but it was very fun to play.

My first pack was of Crystal Guardians, which to this day is still my favorite set. I got a treecko and a Kyogre EX. It was pretty awesome.
