First Teaser Info for S6 ‘Silver Lance’ and ‘Jet-Black Spirit!’ By: Water Pokémon Master Posted 3 months ago to TCG 6 comments The first teaser information has been revealed for S6 Silver Lance and Jet-Black Spirit, which trademarks first revealed three months ago. Each set will feature 70 cards before secret rares. They will release on April 23rd. Silver Lance will focus on Single Strike cards and feature Water-type Ice Rider Calyrex as both a Pokemon V and VMAX. Jet-Black Spirit will focus on Rapid Strike cards and feature Psychic-type Shadow Rider Calyrex as both a Pokemon V and VMAX. The sets will feature several special art cards that emphasize a Pokemon’s environment. The teaser info for January’s Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master mentioned this too. They’re likely referring to alternate art cards like the two Urshifu VMAX that were just revealed. The sets will continue to introduce new Battle Style Pokemon, Supporters, and Item cards, which we already knew. A “Jumbo Pack” will also release on April 23rd for 990 yen. It will come with two booster packs of each set, a Pokemon coin, and three promo cards — a reverse holo Trainer card, a reverse holo Energy card, and either a holo Ice Rider Calyrex V or Shadow Rider Calyrex V. The two Pokemon V will be different from the ones included in the S6 sets. The set will also see the release of deck boxes and sleeves featuring Ice Rider Calyrex and Shadow Rider Calyrex. This year’s Japanese sets include Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master in January, Matchless Fighter in March, and Silver Lance and Jet-Black Spirit in April. We also know about trademarks for… V-UNION and V Star — the first is a new mechanic, the second might be a new set Eevee Heroes, Sky Stream, and Towering Perfection — these are obviously upcoming sets “High Class Pack” and “High Class Deck” — we’re not sure what these are yet, but they may have to do with our 25th anniversary set in the fall
Weird how these aren't mentioned as being V-UNION cards; now I'm really wondering when we're getting info on those
Wonder if Spectrier, Glastrier and Calyrex will get individual cards. Maybe V-UNION will play a role in that?
Wonder if there'll be new Battle Styles (like how we got 1 or 2 new SP variants with most of the Platinum sets) or if it'll be Single Strike vs Rapid Strike for the whole year.
If they are battle style based, Ice Rider will certainly be Single Strike due to Glastrier being a high attack power tank and Shadow Rider will be Rapid Strike due to being a more sophisticated Special Attacker.
A new story has just been posted to PokéBeach's front page: Surprise 'Silver Lance' & 'Jet-Black Spirit' Reveal -- But No Calyrex Cards Shown? Posts you make after this point will immediately appear on the front page and vice versa. Discuss!
Zeraora V - Just Turbo Patch the third energy and can do 100 to the active, 160 to the bench, if your RS mon used an atk last turn. It's fine. Snipe 190 with Passimian. 4 Tornadus V/VMAX - Too underwhelming for a Pokemon that don't for weakness... or isn't. Remember the 100+ dmg boost for SS mon? Yes. That applies on Tornadus VMAX. 240 if there's a stadium and discard it, it can OHKO anything... if you can fuel 4 energy in one turn. 3/3-4 Castform - kinda like Rotoms from Ultra Prism with this 0 energy mechanic. You just need to run like 10 Stadiums and discard them. Hopefully the attacks are worth the ability.
Sunny Form Castform - here. Another reliance on Stadium cards. 3 Castform - just run Crobat. You hand might messed up on your opponent's turn, plus you have to dump 8 Stadiums to do that. 3 Rain Form Castform - dmg spreader, okay. 3-4 Snowy Form Castform - yay! Bland card! 2-3
Mitsuhiro Arita art on Tornadus VMAX makes me really happy. I love his art and I love that trio of Pokemon. (I know, someone actually likes them. Crazy, isn't it?) And that Zeraora is gorgeous too. More Ultra Rares like that, please. I guess my only real complaint is that it's been, what, two and a half generations since that trio has had their Therian forms featured? I mean, I'm glad to see those Pokemon regardless, whenever they're featured, and I do like the incarnate forms, but... Come on. Let's see the more interesting ones. Still, fantastic art on the VMAX regardless.
Can't wait for these Castform cards to get bumped up to rare status in English for absolutely no reason. They have an ability, clearly they're rares! -TPCi, probably
I mean, you kinda did ask for it yourself, didn't ya? Also, I think it's a bit early to complain about the featured V cards. Yes, Zeraora and Tornadus are V cards, but we know we'll be getting Calyrex V/VMAX (and maybe also the horses as V), so they definitely are gonna feature Galar mons in the set. Battle Styles had Victini/Koko, yet still had some unexpected mons like Kricketune and Stoutland, as well as Galar mons like Flapple and Corviknight
Huh... No one was in a hurry to see a new colorless V-Max pokemon, but I guess that they needed an obligatory colorless v-max on their flagship release. Each card reveal just makes me fear about the fate of the missing Galar Gigantamaxes. Random Pokemon keep getting V-Maxes while we are still missing 8 game V-maxes. And with the focus on Calyrex formes, we can discard Hatterene and Kingler from getting a V-max this set.
