Writing Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 25 - Now with a TL;DR!

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

When you guys do make a choice, stating even just a few words of explanation really helps us out. We need to understand why you're choosing that decision so that we can reflect your choice into the necessary circumstances that may happen. You don't have to write a paragraph, but a small sentence makes a big difference. Thanks!

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

2 days left!

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Only B could work. Cynthia has the experience and you should obviously stay to fight. Professor Rowan's an old man that shouldn't be doing anything and Eirik's probably not doing so hot.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Tomorrow's last day to vote...make sure you vote before then! :D

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

So what happened to this anyways? :p

I know the voting period is long over, but I choose B. Like others have said, Eirik and Rowan are in danger, and could possibly be killed if left there. Cynthia and Mia are the only ones able to fight.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

We are currently in the process of writing the next chapter and will have it up soon. Thanks for your concern! :D

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Hello PokéBeach, I'm sorry this took forever (had artist/writer block Dx) bur finally here it is, the one and the only:

Chapter 20

You kiss Eirik again…and then he and the professor disappear, meaning you will have to fight the guards alongside Cynthia, who calls out her Togekiss.

“Quick, Mia! Come on Togekiss!”

As soon as you and Prinplup are on the Pokémon, you take off. You don’t get very far, however, since one of the guards calls out his Electivire, who catches Togekiss and electrifies it and then makes it crash onto the ground, knocking it out. Luckily, you and Cythia had just enough time to jump off.

By the time you stand up after landing on the ground, the guards have already surrounded you.

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Cynthia and the pretty girl of the blue hair. Your name’s Mia, isn’t it? Looks like destiny really has it in for you, sweetie. I told you I would get you back for that dirty trick you used earlier. Guards, do not interfere with what’s about to happen, unless I tell you to. I’ll let the fun last more. Let’s do this, Golbat!”

As the bat Pokémon comes out of its PokéBall, you tell Prinplup to get ready to fight. You know you don’t have Kirlia this time, but you have no choice. As Cynthia sees this, she stops you.

“I’ll take care of this, Mia. You have only one Pokémon, and she is far more experienced than you. You go with Z and bring help.”

“That’s wise advice, Mia. I would take it. We’ll be waiting for you.”

“Are you sure you’re gonna be alright, Cynthia? She’s strong. If I hadn’t had Kirlia, she would have won the battle.”

“I will, don’t forget I was once the Sinnoh Champion!” she says cheerfully. It doesn’t change your mood in the least.

“Alright, then. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

With these words, you and Prinplup start walking towards the center of the yard, where you were teleported earlier. As soon as you step on the little circle, a yellow light envelops you and Prinplup, and you find yourself in the entrance of Shining White. Interesting, you think, they can control where you will appear even if there’s no circle at the destination.

You start feeling cold, and suddenly remember…you left your purse at the prison! You will have to find the Resistance with your dress and heels. Great, just great.

As you try to remember the direction Riley took when he left you, Prinplup seems to want your attention. You look at it, and you see it has…a PokéBall in its beak!

It has a note on it:

I hope this Pokémon will help you as much as its mother has helped me. It’s still a bit unruly, so it won’t always come out when you want it to. It will come out when the moment comes.

-Cynthia

“Well, if it isn’t a good surprise! Thank you, Prinplup. I hope it comes in handy. So now, where do you think Riley went? We could go that way…”

“You don’t need to…I found you already.”

That voice…Riley!

“Riley!” You say, and you instantly turn and hug him. He seems a bit surprised by your reaction, but he hugs you anyway. “I made it into Shining White with Cynthia. She’s fighting Mars to give me time to get your help. We need the Resistance.”

“I’m sorry, Mia, but you can’t have the whole Resistance helping you; we still have to get our people out of the other prison. I can send half with you, but I have to go with the other half. We need them. Besides, Professor Rowan, Eirik and Kirlia will stay in the new HQ to help you from there. You’ll be fine, Mia. I trust you. And so does Eirik.”

At the mention of Eirik’s name, you feel you’re blushing a bit.

“Don’t worry, Mia. Everything will be ok. The guys will bring you proper clothing and shoes.”

With these words, he hugs you and leaves. You have no choice but to wait for the half of the Resistance to come join you. After several minutes, there’s still no sign of the Resistance. Since you have nothing to do, you start feeling sleepy. You call Prinplup and hug it, and the warmth it gives makes you feel comfortable…and you both fall asleep.

Some time after

You open your eyes and look around. Prinplup is making a snowman and another Pokémon you’ve never seen before is watching it. You would normally take out your Pokédex to scan it, but…you remember your purse is still at the prison. You realize you’re shivering, and see that the strange Pokémon is looking at you.

It has white fur and a horn on the side of its head. It’s looking at you in the eyes as if it wanted to tell you something, but you can’t really tell what.

Suddenly, it looks in the direction Riley left, and before you even realize it, you take the Pokéball Cynthia gave you and call back the Pokémon. Well this is a pretty weird Pokémon, you think.

Suddenly, you hear footsteps. You look in the direction where the noise came from…and see the Resistance! They’ve finally arrived! There are plenty of Pokémon, almost as twice as much as people. One of them speaks:

“Blue hair, dress, heels, Prinplup, pretty. Just like Z said. You’re Mia, aren’t you?”

“Uh, yeah, that’s me,” you say, a bit intimidated by the man’s straightforwardness.

“Z sent you clothes,” he replies, and throws them at you, but you fall back and the clothes fall on your face. When you take them off, you see you’re at the prison. You stand up and look around. Prinplup is next to you, and most of SW is destroyed. You hear explosion after explosion, and there are dead bodies everywhere.

However, you don’t have time to even think about how you got there, as you hear a piercing scream at the distance. That sounded like Cynthia!

You take Prinplup and start running towards the scream immediately, and after about 15 minutes, you see the cause of the scream.

You see Cynthia lying on the floor with a spear through her body, and Mars chuckling. You fall to your knees and start crying in despair.

“See, sweetheart? This is what happens to those who choose to face me on a one-on-one battle, regardless of their skill level. The Purugly you saw earlier was nothing but a leftover of my true team. You may face it if you want, but only after I’m done with this green-haired guy.”

Eirik? Wasn’t he supposed to stay with the professor? Is the professor here, too?

All you can do is watch as Mars takes the spear out of Cynthia’s dead body, smiles, and starts walking towards Eirik, who is defenseless. You suddenly stand up and start running towards Eirik and push him to the side the second before the fatal blow is delivered. You feel the spear going through your heart, and you desperately try to reach for a Pokéball.

After you fall on the ground, your vision starts blurring. You’re getting colder and colder…but Mars isn’t done with you.

“You saved this guy, sweetie? Men do nothing but play with women. I had one of those a long time ago, and all he did was throw me away like trash. But since you care so much about him, I’ll kill him before your eyes, just before you die.”

With these words, she takes her spear, slowly walks towards Eirik, and is about to kill him…but everything becomes white before you see what happens. As you feel life leave your body, in the whiteness a figure appears…It’s Kirlia! What is it doing here?

Again, you don’t have time to react, as it disappears as soon as it appeared. You close your eyes, waiting for the end…

When you open them, everything around you is white. Except for the Prinplup playing in the snow…and the trees around it…and your blue dress…and your hair…It was all a dream! But it all seemed so real…and Kirlia was in it, so…maybe it’s a message from it? What if…it was to come true!?

You hear footsteps coming. The Resistance has actually arrived this time! What will you do?

Well, guys, I’m sure there’s more than one of you who thought the dream was actually happening, but well it wasn’t :p
So, your choices:

A) Try to convince the Resistance to go for a sneaky attack instead of the all-out frontal attack they had planned.

B) Ignore your daynightmare and go with the Resistance.

C) Go in the woods to change the course of the events.

You have until 15-02-15 to vote, PokéBeach! I’ll be seeing you! :D

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

A. It sounds like a warning, to me. But then again, it could be a trick from the Galactics...

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

You have until tomorrow to vote, people, choose wisely...

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

I'm going to choose C for the sake of changing things up into a new progression. I feel like the first two options are expected to be chosen, so maybe this will make things more interesting.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Voting ends today, people! :D We need a t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-tiebreaker.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Going with A. I don't want to leave everyone in the resistance behind.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Wow, it's been a while since we last got 4 votes xD
Go PokéBeach!

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 19

Sorry it's not big like my past chapters, but this one is mostly a transition one, anyway. The voting process is very important here! This is to demonstrate Mia's growth as an individual thinker over the past few months.

Chapter 21

You see the people coming and your first instinct is to hide. After all, who says they’re the Resistance anyway? You and Prinplup hide behind the snowman and allow them to walk on a little ways, observing and whispering about the environment surrounding them. You hold your breath and stand up from behind the snowman and call out for the guys to hear.

“Are you Mia?” one of them asks.

“I sure am,” you say proudly.

“What do you know about this Resistance team?”

You sit for a minute and think, but without thought, you answer aloud with extreme vulnerability. “So this crazy woman has taken Cynthia hostage and I think we should do some sort of sneak attack to take her out,” you whisper.

One of the men, a guy with bushy eyebrows and dilated pupils, whispers to a bald man in black. They glance over to you and one of the men walks up and attaches a handcuff to your left hand. Surprised, you lash out and expect to be taken on by all of them, however you are surprisingly only pushed around within the kingdom’s streets. Prinplup is recalled into its Pokeball and shoved in one of the men’s pockets. When you get to a more private area, the bald man gets your attention.

“Look, kid, we were sent here by Z, but you can’t just go blabbing like that. You want the whole SWC coming here watching you bark out like that? You’re just asking for the electric chair,” he says.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” you whisper with an embarrassed expression.

The men continue onward through the city, passing beautiful water fountains and tall, arched buildings etched with detailed images of battles, history, and the wonders of life. Everything shines against the sun’s beams up on the mountain, like a little hand-crafted ornament glazed in snow and shallowness. You remember the shady things going on and decide to ignore the town’s attractions.

Children play around and laugh at each other, throwing snowballs and calling names, and men walk around in big brown jackets with their hands stuff inside. The men take you over to a police car on the side of the road and coax you into the back of it.

“I’m not really into cars,” you say, but the bald man says otherwise.

“We need the transportation if we’re going to do the little sneak attack. Just go along with it and we will personally escort you to the prison’s front door!”

You shrug and hop inside, expecting them to unbind you, but you are knocked to the floor and the door closes with a click. You’re stuck inside, still bound by the hands now, and you find some sort of shadiness in their actions. Why keep you tied up if you’re just a little girl?
. . .

The road trip seemed to take hours. You find yourself prying the handcuffs off your slender arms and, once you accomplish one of them, find that the other one is chained to a pole. You sigh in distress and realize Prinplup’s ball isn’t in your pocket--but the Pokemon Cynthia gave you is present instead.

Instead of simply busting out, though, you figure to give the men the benefit of the doubt and assume they mean well. You bounce around in the dark, occasionally banging into the side of the metal car, and eventually come to a stop. When the car doors open in the back, the men find you half-shivering from the cold metal floor you sad on. You sigh as they heave you out and keep you chained up.

“Shouldn’t you untie me?” you ask.

The other man laughs and says, “We would, but you admitted to be working with an illegal outside force to destroy the government of this flourishing environment. You’re under arrest,” he says.

You think about how that means going to prison, going back to Cynthia, and you make the situation seem a little less than it is. However, you still feel alarmed to have been tricked by men posing as your form of salvation, your own get-out-of-jail-free card. You ask them what happened to the Resistance team, and the third of the men finally speaks.

“We destroyed them yesterday morning. Riley, too--tough brute.”

“You’re lying!” you scream.

“You think I’m lying? Try me,” he taunts.

“I think I will!” you shout.

“The only thing getting tried here is you, dearest,” the bald man speaks up.

“Yeah, you’re going to visit royalty. It’s actually an almost good occasion if you think about it.”

You are pushed into some stone building and find yourself walking on a long, patterned red carpet. You purposely attempt to smear whatever may be on your shoe to the carpet, but nothing comes off. You frown. As you go through the building, instead of going straight still, the men force you left and you are thrown in a holding cell. They lock the iron door and leave you in the small space of confinement with no one else to talk to. The men walk out, laughing, as you sit on a bench to yourself.

Then you remember Cynthia’s Pokemon in your pocket. You smile and wait for the right moment to strike. You think about your escape plan, and whether or not it will work, for hours. Your options are:

A) Use the Pokemon to escape and run off while you can.
B) See what the stupid men are making you do and then call out the Pokemon.
C) Pretend to be stupid in exchange for being freed for a moment--then strike.

You have until February 27th to vote!

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 21

I'd like to go with D) Check what Pokemon Mia was given and then go with A.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 21

Voting ends tomorrow guys!
I'd go with B. Maybe you could gain advantage by waiting to see, who knows what'll happen.

RE: Winds of Time - PokéBeach CYOA - Chapter 21

Well, it's past Feb. 27th, but considering there are only three votes so far, I'll vote B.
