Major Rules Update

We have finished revising the PB Forums Rules. This will be the last significant update for a while. Getting right to it, the most notable change is our content policy going forward. PB has been moving in a more lenient and mature direction recently, and that will be much more apparent with the new content policy.

1. PokéBeach Forums Content Policy

As of November 12th, 2012, we are a PG-13 forum. Content here may be unsuitable for children. If you are posting on these forums, we will assume you are 13 years of age or older, or have parental permission to be on these forums. If you are not 13, please ask your parents before logging on.

For information about what a PG-13 policy is, please look here.

From now on, members will be free to post PG-13 content. We are officially adopting this policy next Monday to allow for adjustment. As stated in the policy, if you are under age 13, please ask your parents for permission before accessing these forums. Most sub-forum rules have already been updated to reflect that PG-13 content is allowed (Such as the Writer's Corner).

Overall, we've done some trimming of the rules. Unallowed content has been summarized here:

6. Unallowed content.

Posting inappropriate content (as decided by forum staff), in any form, will not be tolerated. This includes:

• Nudity/pornographic material, sexual detail (18+ content).
• Heavy cursing. Please do not cuss people out, or overuse curses.

Furthermore, many topics are prohibited on PokéBeach. You may NOT:

• Make new/returning member introduction threads.
• Discriminate against a group, ethnicity, etc.
• Religious, political, and similar topics ARE okay as long as they do not attack a specific group.

Members who break this rule will generally receive a 40% warning for one month.

Additionally, the revival of dead threads is now allowed, there is no longer a rule against this. You may revive old threads at any time if you have something to discuss that is relevant to the topic. Just do not abuse this. The only exception to this is reviving News Story threads, which will be covered by a stickied thread in that forum shortly.

With these new rules we hope that PB grows along with the fans that have grown up with it. PB is almost 10 years old now and a lot of our original members are still around. Because of that, we think It's time for some grown up policies.

Well, clarifying. You can use almost any language as you please on the forums now (I will be letting up on some more censors, except racial slurs and such). HOWEVER, it cannot violate any of the other rules, Especially #2. You can't get rude or nasty with someone, or cuss people out. Of course, avoid 18+ stuff too. Overall, it's best to be as decent as possible when posting. It's no fun when someone is outright crude.

Kehehe, that's pretty interesting. I would like to point out though, that cussing can cause potential penalties IRL at Leagues and Tournaments though, so know your time and place, everyone, even if you're 10, or even if you're 100!!
