Acronyms and Terms for Newcomers

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

There should be one for Time Space Distortion.
It's too long of a trainer to type up every time.

TSD- sounds good right? :)

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

FTW =For The Win. I think.

GC set referred as DPt set too from what I read at pokebeach news. You may want to add that.

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

TSR.

No idea what TCG card that is.

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

Sounds kind of noobish, but I still don't know what "whiff" is. From what I gather, it means to use a card and then fail the search (ie, play Bebe, and then take no pokemon from the deck). But I could be completely wrong.

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

Pretty close but I believe that Whiff pertains more toward important situations. Your need a Machamp Lv.X to win. Premier ball top deck *whiff* no Machamp in the deck it is in your prizes.
You need 1 card from your discard pile to win. TSD *whiff* three tails you lose. You can fail a Bebe for strategic reasons so that can't really be called a whiff.

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

Add IFDS (Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky), too ^^

Nice to see this get a sticky, I've added in metagame, rogue, and topdeck.

You're welcome... kinda. I was the advocate in the various threads! :p

And consider making the title like "Acronyms and Terms..." or something to that effect, and adding in terms (as you appear to have already started doing) as well.

RE: Acronyms for Newcomers

Alright, thanks. Well I'll change the title. Also does anyone have ideas for more terms?

Err...
I think I have a general idea on what these are, but just in case I'm wrong.
Run
Spread
Snipe
Just wanna cover all my bases so to speak.

Check out the "Alphabet Soup" in Site Discussion (why it was there I don't know) and "Terminology (spelled wrong though) 2" thread in TCG Rulings. I'm not sure if you have them all on the list.

I couldn't find what I was looking for on either of those topics.
From my understanding
Run=Play a particular card eg. 'He ran T-tar'
Spread=To play a large bench
Snipe=To attack the bench insted of the Defending Pokemon

Spread: Dealing a small amount of damage to all of your opponents pokemon.
Since you didn't bother to give the correct definition right now.

Might want to consider adding FTK=First Turn Knock-Out.
Saw it a few days ago. Figured I'd tell you.

Also, GC is now PL. Platinum. Not jap only. x3
PotF=Pulse of the Frontier.
