  • It's more so understanding how cards interact with each other. For example:

Q: If I use Victini-EX's Turbo Energize, or Terrakion-EX's Pump-Up Smash, and attempt to attach Energy cards to a Sigilyph (with Safeguard), what happens?
A: The Energy cards get discarded.

A lot of this stuff pops up in the Compendium, to answer things that may be unclear. Some rulings even change, for example:

Q: If I play a Random Receiver, and the first card revealed is a Supporter, do I need to shuffle my deck?
A: You do now. You used to not do so.

BW-TCG is supposedly less complicated, but the wording has been dumbed down so much that there are now more questions, stupid or otherwise, than ever. The attempt to make the TCG simpler has just made lives worse.

It CAN be complicated, though with a thorough knowledge of the game state (honestly, a lot of questions like those are common sense, but some aren't), most questions are easily answered.

I could probably help with stuff about card matters, but if it involves answering questions on the Professor Exam, I'm afraid I can't comply :p (I could point you to where the answer is, maybe, but I can't give it to you directly.)
professorlight, a professor is someone in the Pokemon TCG community who has shown him/herself to be a knowledgeable person in TCG matters, in card rulings, tourney procedures, and so on. They're usually asked to act as judges at Pokemon tournaments for this purpose (judges don't have to be professors, but being one increases the odds of being picked). They also get access to various goodies the more tourneys they staff at, or leagues they help run.
To be a professor, one has to pass the Professor Exam once a year with a score of 80% or higher each time (the membership lasts for 1 year and needs to be renewed with each taking of the test).

You can find more info about the program here!: http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/professors/

Why'd you ask? Were you curious about becoming one?
professorlight, it's kinda hard for me to say what I can and can't do, since it's a bit of a long list. Though a lot of stuff is possible, since I have an Internet connection and can communicate with people.

It's probably easier for me to ask you for a laundry list of stuff you'd want, and I'd pick something(s) off that list I could pull off.
professorlight, ...let me know when you actually want something, and then get back to me :p
professorlight, so it means any vestige of a soul I have remaining is not very substantial. I have to keep that box in a freezer just to preserve it.

Oh, and apparently you got post #13001 on my wall. (13000 is banned.) Thus I will grant you 1 wish that is within my ability to grant. Is there something you want from me?
    professorlight, What kind of games?

Ummm I like trying new things and new experiences and new places, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE food, I like action movies, comic books (some of my favorite artists are comic book artists), concept design, video games, dressing up, blasting music, playing with html, etc. Star Wars is cool (well, the original 3 were). I'm a psychology fan. :3

    Watch any good shows?
    professorlight, Haha No kidding.
So besides Pokemon and architecture, what else are you into?
professorlight, you're quite right. I do have a soul, buuuuut it is stored inside a very small metal box, so...
    professorlight, Hahaha

In the morning I had someone helping me finish up. The big hit of the night was some made-from-scratch Jello Mochi (Fruit Punch and Mango) and Sparkling Cider Jello in these cute little cups with a raspberry in it and foam on top.
    Indeed!
I prefer Aira form, but both of them are great. And the Piro one doubles as a nice chin rest.
    professorlight, Hell yes.

So I stayed up ALL NIGHT making different kinds of Jello and then I got to sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon then I ran that event like a pro.
    professorlight, Pretty much. ^^

Hahaha my stressed out friend recently told me "Why do I always procrastinate?! I hate procrastination!" and I said "You know what you hate more than procrastinating?" and they said "What?" and I said "Work."
I feel ya. Some groups can be fun. Ha...not always productive though.
    professorlight, Yeah permanent. ^^

Niiice. I'm sure you'll do amazing.
professorlight, We'll make an assortment of fun, unique, Jello desserts for everyone. A huge spread. My job is a community event coordinator, we host multiple events a month either in a building or outdoors for the complex and get a free apartment that I normally couldn't afford. ;3 We do dinner nights, craft nights, dessert nights, movie nights, etc. People love it. It's pretty sweet. Most of the work is at home until event or shopping day.

And hang in there! How are your classes so far?
professorlight, Planning a Jello night for work. Pretty exciting. ^^ You?
professorlight, I'm really surprised they decided to go back to Gen I instead of doing another plug for Gen 6. Especially so close to the XY date.
professorlight, I'm excited and at the same time scared to get my hopes up. >_<
