    Well I don't know why you are even hesitating that they aren't the main bugs. Here let me put it this way, 5th gen is supposed to be a revisiting of the first gen 1 so it has to have all the same "mains" as 1st gen had and it does. And it's also a revisiting of the entire series as there are many pokemon similar to other pokemon throughout the series

    Yes there was it was the sewaddle line and venipede line both are bug types,go through a cocoon stage and have a 2 evolutionary relatives they could be caught early on and are both found in the first forest. I guess you just had a mental block

    No pidgy was the main bird of kanto it is catchable in johto but hoothoot was the new main bird at that time this is also similar to how starly is the main bird for sinnoh but hoothoot is also catchable there and yes what ash catches is relevant is because he owned the final form of every main bird

    No, no the tailow evolution line and the hoothoot are the same as the pidgy evo ect. lines. They are known as the main bird lines,just because they are one evolution less does not mean they are not main birds. Then there are secondary birds these consist of spearow evo,natu evo,wingull evo and ducklett evo. Now do you see?
