The McDonalds promotion starts tomorrow in which you can receive one of twelve holo TCG promos as well as one of eight toys when you purchase a Happy Meal. The official Happy Meal website has now posted a flash demo showing how each of the toys works: Reshiram’s arms move, Oshawott bobbles in place, Tepig’s tail glows red, Snivy bobbles and moves, Zoroark twists and slashes, Pikachu’s cheeks glow red, Zorua sits and hops, and Zekrom’s arms and wings move. The Pokemon promotion will last until July 7th. So as to not grow chubby and unhealthy, most McDonalds restaurants allow you to buy their toys separately for a little less than the price of a Happy Meal, so you might want to check into that if you plan to collect all of the cards and toys! :p

Pokemon 151” is a brand of t-shirts specifically targeted to older Pokemon fans. Its official website announced last December in a brief statement that after only six months of business, the website would be shutting down, leading many to believe that the t-shirts had been discontinued. However, new designs continued to be released at Pokemon Centers immediately following the announcement and continued to be even months after. Obviously, the brand is still alive and the original announcement only applied to the website selling them, not the actual product.

This month, not only were two new designs released, but they actually feature Pokemon outside the original 151 – Ho-Oh and Lugia, obviously in celebration of HeartGold and SoulSilver. The designs are below. The shirts can only be purchased at Pokemon Centers in Japan and retail for about $50.

Pkmncollectors has uncovered new Arceus plushes! There will be 17 of them, 16 of which are Arceus with its respective elemental plates attached and one of which is the Normal-type Arceus. The sets of Arceus will be released in late June, early July, mid-July, and late July in Banpresto UFO catcher machines, where each attempt at capturing an item out of the machine with a mechanical claw costs 100 yen, or about a dollar. Other movie 12 merchandise will also be available in the machines, including thermoses and figurines.

Hiro was called “Pikachu” again on tonight’s episode of Heroes. :p Also, I seemed to miss this news story last month… better late than never!

Mewtwo - 151 Brand T-Shirt

The Pokemon 151 t-shirt brand will officially close down at the end of this month, according to an announcement made on its official website last month. The brand was catered to adult Pokemon fans but barely lasted six months, perhaps due to overpriced t-shirts (50 bucks?!) and resulting lack of interest or just general lack of interest. No official reason for the closure is stated.

As of 12/31 this website will shut down. It was a short time we had together, but thanks for your love and support.

EDIT: The bundle is actually available at a variety of stores, not just Gamestop. Amazon.com has it with free shipping, and Circuit City is giving the bundle away with a free action figure. All major retailers are probably getting them, like Target, Toys R Us, Wal Mart, etc.

According to Pokemon.com, the Dialga and Palkia Nintendo DS Bundle will be available at stores starting this Sunday, August 17th. The price of the entire bundle is $129.99. Since the bundles are limited edition, they’ll probably go fast, so jump to it if you are going to buy one!

Pokemon 151 Kakuna T-Shirt

Heerosferret actually took photos of this new design a few weeks ago, but I neglected to post them. A new Kakuna t-shirt design is now available on the Pokemon 151 website. Like Hypno, Cubone, Articuno, and Mewtwo, the shirt comes in small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes for 4,530 yen. Click the thumbnail to the right for a larger picture of the t-shirt’s front. The back of the t-shirt has a green Pokemon 151 logo on the bottom right.

Didn’t have time to post this yesterday…

Special Edition Dialga and Palkia DS Lite

GoNintendo has posted pictures of a Gamestop advertisement revealing a special Dialga and Palkia-themed DS lite. The DS will come in a bundle package that costs $129.99, which includes a matching Nintendo DS carrying case, a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time and Darkness DVD (this is a special that has not aired in America yet), a poster featuring Grovyle, and a special Gamestop Pokemon t-shirt. That’s a lot for $129.99.

We’ve found out from a Gamestop employee that this is part of next week’s Gamestop advertising, so expect the package to become available “soon.” Since this is a limited edition bundle, they will probably sell out quickly.

The Dialga and Palkia DS was released simultaneously with Diamond and Pearl in Japan, so it has been about two years since they have had it. The next Pokemon-themed DS lite features Giratina Origin Forme in celebration of Platinum‘s release, so there is a possibility we could receive that in the future as well.

A new t-shirt line for Pokemon called “Pokemon 151” has been released in Japan. The line will cater to adult Pokemon fans and will only feature t-shirts with Pokemon from the original generation. This is the first time the Pokemon Company has targeted adult audiences with exclusively adult products, so it is definitely a step toward recognizing that older fans do in fact exist. Using only the first generation will probably satisfy many older fans who only acknowledge the original 151 Pokemon, which may be why the Pokemon Company is marketing this line in such a fashion.

The Japanese website for Pokemon 151 just opened less than an hour ago. Each shirt costs 4,530 yen (or about $42.00 – yikes!) and comes in small, medium, large, and extra large sizes. As of now, only four designs are available – Hypno (Japanese name: Sleeper), Cubone (Kodoku), Articuno (Freezer), and Mewtwo (same name in Japanese). The website promises that more designs are to come. Will these shirts be released in the United States? Perhaps if older fans demand they do and Pokemon USA recognizes it, we may see them one day. As of now, the website only allows you to buy a shirt if you are a resident of Japan.

Click the thumbnails below for larger images. The first images are close-ups of the design on the shirts, while the second images show the artwork by itself and both the front and back views of each shirt.
