Brand New Pikachu VMAX Releasing in ‘CoroCoro!’

A brand new Pikachu VMAX will be included in the February edition of CoroCoro magazine! It will release on January 15th in Japan. The card will be promo #265/S-P. (Update: Accidentally said “CoroCoro Ichiban” when this story was first published, but it’s just regular CoroCoro.)

Last month, we revealed CoroCoro would be releasing their own special “Start 100 Decks” featuring a brand new Pikachu V and Eevee V. The latest edition of the magazine has announced how fans will be able to purchase the decks. There will be a serial code in the February issue that readers can use to enter a lottery. 100,000 people will then be selected to purchase the decks.

The new Pikachu VMAX is a promo, but this means we’ll still see at least some VMAX Pokemon after VMAX Climax. It hasn’t been confirmed that VMAX Pokemon have been replaced by VSTAR Pokemon. However, most fans assume they’ll be phased out soon.

Thanks goes to Bangiras for the translations!

Update: Accidentally said “CoroCoro Ichiban” when this story was first published, but it’s just regular CoroCoro.

Art's cool but why are they wasting every last possible Vmax slot? Like, do the people planning this game want to not get all new forms down as cards??

Honestly I am still wondering whether they're going be doing a vmax/vstar for hatterene, machamp and melmetal. We never got a Mega Pinsir EX.
