First Product Details for September’s ‘V-UNION Box!’

Last December we revealed a “V-UNION Box” would release on September 24th, 2021.

We’ve now learned it will come with four promo cards, one Trainer card, one jumbo card, four booster packs, and a PTCGO code card. It will retail for $29.99.

The product sounds like our equivalent of Japan’s V-UNION sets, which are intended to introduce fans to the new mechanic. The four promo cards will obviously be the four pieces of a V-UNION Pokemon and the Trainer card could be Professor Burnet. The jumbo card could be a combined version of the four V-UNION cards for collectors.

Right now the product has the placeholder name of “V-UNION Box,” but often times these placeholders are misleading and there’s more than one “version.” It’s possible we could see a V-UNION Box for Mewtwo V-UNION, Greninja V-UNION, and Zacian V-UNION like in Japan. This isn’t certain, though.

It’s interesting to note this product will release one day after S8 Fusion Arts, which should be Japan’s first V-UNION set. We should get that set for our SWSH8 set, which releases on November 12th. So we’ll get this English product a few weeks before SWSH8, likely so English fans are introduced to V-UNION ahead of the set.

Note that there is also a “V-Union Premium Pin Box” that will be releasing in October for our 25th anniversary set. So we know of two V-UNION products on the horizon!
