I had "Suit & Tie" by Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z stuck in my head for awhile cause it's a very catchy song and the beat has that nostalgic 60's and 70's feel to it even though it's more like 1920's and 30's music like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby (sort of). Other than that I've been listening to "Adorn" by Miguel which reminds me of listening to "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye which has a great beat to it, pretty good stuff.
I've also been listening to The Wall album by Pink Floyd, great stuff there. My favorites from that album are "Comfortably Numb", "Run Like Hell" (sounds like Training Montage music from the Rocky Movies), and "Young Lust" which is a track that apparently wasn't released in the Remastered Edition of the Album. It's hard for me to say why those tracks are so good, they have a great rhythm and beat to them that you can sorta relate yourself to in a way.

Lately I've been listening to Hank Williams III, Silversun Pickups, and Flogging Molly. All three very different from one another, but I do like a variety of different kinds of music. Hank III for when I'm feeling a little country, Silversun Pickups is good chill music, and Flogging Molly is just great any old time.

Listening to Ola Gjeilo's Stone Rose from 2007. Just beautiful. I always listen to music like this....it soothes me. I was listening to "Sidewalks" but couldn't find a video for it online! :O so you guys will have to settle for "Madison" another favorite of mine from Stone Rose.

I'm very into Ellie Goulding at the moment, specifically her new-ish album Halcyon. Songs in particular are JOY, Explosions, Figure 8, Hanging On and I Know You Care. (also, if you get the chance, listen to a live performance of her on Youtube, she is amazing live.)

I've been listening to this awesome steampunk band called Steam Powered Giraffe. They've got a really, really cool sound and the setup for their characters is really cool. They're like Gorillaz in the way that they have these characters that they're always using. It's just really amazing to watch and hear. I urge you to check them out. I am in love. I almost love this band like I love Modest Mouse.

I've actually spent the last couple of years off this site while I've been making my own music. I've admired electronic dance music for a long time and ended up making it myself! So, I guess the music I've been listening to lately is mainly my work as I produce it! (If you have any questions feel free to ask me on my profile as I'm not here to self-promote!)
As for other music, I've really been feeling songs like this, this, this and this!

Funk? Ain't really my style, but these are preferences after all.
I'm a metalhead, but I never listened to black metal. So I recently began listening to stuff like Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child.
I can't say black is bad, but definitely not my favorite among metal styles.

Aww, come on, everybody's gotta get a little funky every once in a while!
...just kidding, I know electronic music isn't everyone's cup ofbass tea. I actually used to listen to metal, but most of it was just mainstream heavy metal that you'd see printed on nearly every concert t-shirt out there. I really love the genre though, there's just a level of emotion that hard rock and metal captures when no other genre can.

Well, it's hard to explain... I guess it gets you (me) excited. Rap gets you pumped, excited and you feel like you can do anything. When I listen to a slow country song I don't get the same effect... It either makes me want to go buy an old chevy pick up truck or cry about the guys dead dog...

Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. Best song ever, especially at basketball games in tiny arenas when it gets loud and you are winning. You should try it sometime. Also a good pump up song.
