Team building process

I really wanted to use a sun team because I really like fast Pokemon and as SS+Drizzle and Excadrill are banned the only Pokemon with double the speed are Chlorophyll ones so Ninetales was an obvious choice because of its ability Drought.
[icon]38[/icon][icon]485[/icon]
I needed something to absorb Fire type attacks and set up Stealth Rocks. Heatran provided all that along with an amazing Fire/Steel typing great 130 base special attack and the ability to trap opponents with Magma Storm.

Do I really need to explain these two? I really don't know which one is better. Venusaur with its amazing speed and Growth or Volc with Quiver Dance and Fire Blast.

I needed to keep the entry hazards away from my team and I choosed something that I haven't tried before, Espeon.

Sawsbuck was pretty much just a second Chlorophyll abuser but it is an amazing addition to my team.

Pokemon Analysis

Pokemon: | Ninetales | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Drought | EVs: | 144 HP / 252 SAtk / 112 Spd |
Nature: | Modest | Moves: |
|
A sun team can't work without Ninetales. Being the only OU Pokemon with the ability Drought it earned its spot on my team. I am currently using the Sunny Day version as it gives me the best shot at winning the weather war. Hidden Power Ice was used at first over Will-O-Wisp so dragons don't set up on Ninetales. Will-O-Wisp lets me burn them and it is my best move when I expect a switch. It also cripples Tyranitar. Fire Blast hits everything that doesn't resist if for good amount of damage and SolarBeam provides good coverage with it hitting bulky Water and Rock types.

Pokemon: | Heatran | Item: | Air Balloon |
Ability: | Flash Fire | EVs: | 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd |
Nature: | Modest | Moves: |
|
I needed a Flash Fire user so that my opponent doesn't kill me with my own weapon. It was either going to be Arcanine or Heatran. Access to SR as well as having a Steel typing made it a superior choice. Magma Storm hurts like hell in sun and it traps Politoed and Tyranitar wanting to switch in. I am currently thinking of changing it to Fire Blast as the accuarcy can be annoying. Hidden Power Ice and Earth Power provide good coverage and they let me hit Dragons and Water types respectievly.

Pokemon: | Espeon | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Magic Bounce | EVs: | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd |
Nature: | Timid | Moves: |
|
The best Pokemon on my team. I thought Espeon will be just here so that the opponent is afraid of setting up hazards. I was wrong, very wrong. It absoultely destroys stall teams if the sun is up. Calm Mind boost its special attack and special defense. Psyshock is the main STAB as I need it to hit Chansey and Blissey on their weaker side. Hidden Power Fire grants me a secondary STAB move in the sun and it lets me KO things like Scizor (who doesn't kill me with a CB Bullet Punch), Ferrothorn and Skarmory.

Pokemon: | Volcarona | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Flame Body | EVs: | 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd |
Nature: | Modest | Moves: |
|
I usually run the defensve variant if I use sun but I found myself needing that coverage of Hidden Power Ground so I am using the full offensive version for now. I am not really sure about the set so if you have a better ideal let me know. Quiver Dance is probably the best boosting move along with Shell Smash. Fire Blast is really powerful even without the boost as it does around 60% to Terrakion. Bug Buzz is my secondary STAB and Hidden Power Ground lets me beat Heatran and Terrakion.

Pokemon: | Sawsbuck | Item: | Life Orb |
Ability: | Chlorophyll | EVs: | 112 HP / 248 Atk / 148 Spd |
Nature: | Adamant | Moves: |
|
Wait, what a NU Pokemon in OU? Yep that is right and it does its job excellent. The benefit of Sawsbuck good speed is that it lets me outspeed even +1 base 110 Pokemon like Scarf Latios. Swords Dance let me boost when I see that nothng is stopping it from sweeping. Return and Horn Leech are good STABs and they hit everything but the steel types for neutral damage. Jump Kick is there for Steels like Ferrothorn. I used Nature Power before which transforms into Earthquake but I found myself walled by Ferro to often.

Pokemon: | Venusaur | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Chlorophyll | EVs: | 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd |
Nature: | Modest | Moves: |
|
Another Chlorophyll abuser. Also probably the Pokemon whose moveset I changed the most but I am currently happy with this one. Growth lets me boost my special attack to sky high levels. Sleep Powder is like an emergency button if I don't how to stop something. Hidden Power Ice is for pesky Dragons trying to stop it and Solarbeam is a really powerful STAB move. Sometimes I regret using Solarbeam if facing another waether team but I can't count times its power saved me so note that when suggesting Energy Ball over it.
