Owner's Pokemon is pretty boring IMO. It doesn't really inspire much in terms of creativity, certainly nothing that wouldn't be there before.

I do think that a Kris Kringle of sorts could be interesting for CaC, with no winners, because it'd be some good fun!

EDIT: Also please never make image based competitors make/edit blanks again. I know I and several others can, but there are people who don't have time to edit or the capacity to (limited experience in Photoshop/GIMP)

If this month's contest had started earlier in December, I would have been able to participate, but as it stands, even if it was put up now I don't think I would have the time to complete any art since I'm leaving on holiday in a week and a half and very busy until then. :< So, I have no stake in a December contest, but I should have time to complete January's since I'll be back by the ~10th.

I suggested this idea last month: Pokemon that are not fully evolved. You would have to pick a Pokemon that evolves from a Pokemon and can still evolve into a non-Mega Pokemon (e.g. You could pick Wartortle because it evolves from Squirtle and can evolve into Blastoise, but you couldn't pick Squirtle because it doesn't evolve from any Pokemon. Even though Blastoise can Mega Evolve, you couldn't pick it.).

As for being able to participate in next month's Create-a-Card, I will be available mostly all December.

I would rather do something simple this month. No wacky restrictions.

How about a favorite Pokemon contest? That way, everyone's happy.

While I do like this idea, this could be easily abused by picking Pokemon that didn't receive Evolutions until a later Generation, like Magmar, Gligar, Nosepass, Magneton, the list goes on!

I think this should be a break month.

It feels like the end of the month is always hectic because there are no new ideas on the table and you are relying on the members to spit out ideas for the next month. If you had a bunch of cool themes on the back burner, then each round could start on time and you wouldn't have to worry about what you're going to do next. It would not be hard to slip current events into a given month, either.

So I think we should spend the rest of this month gathering up good ideas for CaC 2015.

If we don't want to repeat the type theme, then perhaps we should move on to some more abstract ideas:

Attacks Only - Can you create a competitive card with no abilities?
Companion Card - OP creates 3-5 sample cards, contestants then pick one and create a card that synergizes well with it
God Killer - Create a card to combat a specific top tier card from a given era
Trainers Only - Create a Trainer (Item), Supporter, or Stadium card. (Don't knock this idea completely, the potential is there)

Now that I think about it, a Rest Month wouldn't be a bad idea. Most of the users will probably be busy with their native Holiday, making it more difficult to get around to judging and/or submitting cards.

Trainers might be a good choice. It isn't that difficult to get around to for the text fakers, and it will help artists work better at their skills at drawing the more Human characters in the Pokemon franchise.

Not true. We plan out the ideas in advance, but we decide to get the members involved near the end of the month to get a better understanding of what they want. If we don't see any good ideas, we go with what we had originally planned, but if we see members liking a certain idea, then we decide to use that instead.

And running out of ideas isn't the issue at all. The judges are busy near the end of the month because of more people submitting cards near deadline (and juggling things in their real lives as well), causing more days to be taken up for the next month, ultimately causing a bit of a delay.

I already have things planned out for January through March, but again, leaving the option to you guys to suggest ideas.

Great job guys! Some of those abilities and aqua-related effects are really unique (Like Mat Block, Menacing Power and Moxie). And Bigfoot, your card looks amazing!!

Thanks, ninjas! :D At first I was to leave it as if any Pokémon (be it Team Magma, Aqua, Plasma, Flare, E4, Shiny, EX, etc) counted towards Menacing Power, but I'm glad I caught the fact that it can potentially boost your Pokémon's attacks by 60 AND reduce your opponent's by the same amount, which would be insanely OP.

Unfortunately, being in the eleventh day of December (at time of writing this post), it's too late to start a CAC for December, So I'm afraid there won't be another CAC contest until January 2015. But the worst thing about it is the fact that the judges have had their hands tied with stuff outside the forums. This makes 2014 the first year where CAC has been forced to take two monthly breaks, both were due to unforeseen circumstances.

Hey guys!

Since we haven't heard back from CMP, I'm judging image-based as well. This'll probably take me a day or 2 to finish, depending on how much time I have and on how good the entries are, so you may get the results as the world's lamest Christmas present.

I can say that the scores for text-based are a lot higher than last time, with a whopping 70% having a score of 40 or higher! Even if I don't get around to judging all the image-based entries in time, I promise I'll at the very least post the results for Text-based by Christmas.

Because then they wouldn't be in sync!

They'll be up soon enough anyway, this way I can do lay-out stuff and tests for both parts together which will save me a bit of time.
