Other generations?

Do any of you play other generations and why? I've tried to play gens 1 and 2, however the lack of large player base made them hard to play often. Other than that, I found the pretty fun despite their flaws (gen 1's hax and gen 2's stall).

If any of you do play other gens, would you like a tournament for other generations?
 
Whenever I try to play Gen 1, my Gen 4/5 knowledge will kick in when I'm making a decision and I'll make some crazy overplay. But it's really fun, and even a bit simpler to play R/B when you have the chance, especially with people who are just getting into the game. I'd recommend it.
 
so this is why you forced me to make a Gen 2 team

Yeah, so, I played a few matches against TDL/ComfortEagle in Gen 2. It was quite fun, including physical Gengar and everything exploding. Zapdos is also an undying monster that wrecks teams. I can tell why it's called the stall generation, considering I pretty much won one of the games because of a layer of splikes (there's that much switching).
 
I don't play the earlier generations. I think I had one RBY battle and no GSC battles (except Battle tower on my Crystal :p ). Considering there aren't many Pokemon in these generation it wouldn't be hard to adapt to the metagame and a possible future tournament will make me research it a bit.
 
I've played a little of every generation except 2 on Pokemon Online. Generation 1 was just so unbelievably weird (nothing like any other generation) that I'm not really a fan of it. I started out playing Generation 4 on Shoddy and that remains my favorite generation. Generation 3, I played a bit on PO and found I liked it.

I'd play in a Gen 3 or 4 tournament. If a Gen 2 tournament were created I'd probably try out Gen 2 to see what its like. Gen 1....nope.
 
I played quite a lot of Gen 2, it wasn't great, but I think the limited options made it fun.
 
GSC OU is my favorite tier to play in, but there's usually nobody on to play. I do enjoy older Gens, such as 2 and 3, but the mechanics of Gen 1 are too different for my liking. The only tier I haven't played in is Gen 4 :x.
 
I never have played anything older than DPP (except RBY NU... or maybe it was GSC :/), but I could be convinced to try them.
 
Does EV training to play in Emerald's Battle Frontier every so often count?
If so, then yes I do. If not, then no I do not.
 
I play Gens 3-5 OU, and gens 4-5 Ubers + UU. The last 3 gens seem to be the most popular, as you get the most diverse metagame if you play those 3. Stealth Rock didn't exist in Advanced, and Team Preview didn't exist in gen 4. It makes for 3 completely different metagames.
 
I've been wanting to play gen 3 because I like the sprites in it, but I don't have a link cable/wireless thing yet alone someone to play with. I could use an emulator or a simulator, but it wouldn't be the same. for now I'm still trying to get better at 5th gen. I'm not bad, but not great.
 
I don't think some of you get that this is a competitive discussion.
