So, I really like battling and I wanted to step up competitively. It sounds like the Skarmbliss core is really good. Can someone give me an example of how those two pokemon work together and help me build a team? Thanks. Also, I can't find the download link for pokemon online. Can someone assist me? Thanks again.

This is our guide to Pokemon Online; it has the download link: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-pokemon-online-server-faq

Those two pokemon work together due to their fantastic defensive synergy.

Blissey is the best special wall in the game, and Skarmory is the best physical wall in the game. Therefore, Skarmory can switch into the physical attacks aimed at Blissey with little harm to itself, and Blissey can switch into the special attacks aimed at Skarmory with little harm to itself.

If you want to continue to build a team off of defensive synergy, you'll want to find what these two Pokémon are weak to and cover it. For example, Infernape. Infernape's fighting-type physical moves will KO Blissey, and its fire-type special attacks will KO Skarmory, so you'll want to add a Pokémon that helps against Infernape. Slowbro, Jellicent, and Tentecruel are all excellent options.

If you need any more help, feel free to PM me :)

Ok, I think I get it now. Would you start off with one of these pokemon or start with an entry hazard pokemon and switch in to skarmory or blissey? Thanks for your help.

Skarmory is not an uncommon lead due to it's amazing ability to set up entry hazards, but it's important to remember when using a defensive core like SakrmBliss to keep both of them alive. It really depends on the battle. If you were facing a sun team, for example, you would never start Skarmory.

I'd be glad to go on chat now if you need to know anything else.

But how would I know if it's a sun team or not? I would love to chat right now, but I can't at the moment, sorry.

After looking around a bit on smogon, I have fallen in love with a hail team. It's probably not the best weather around, but it looks really fun. Would skarmbliss be practical in a hail team?

Team Preview, which is always there for OU competitive play, shows the entire opponent's team before the battle.

SkarmBliss can technically work anywhere. It's more important what the rest of your team is. SkarmBliss probably isn't the best option for a Hail team because of the negation of Leftovers and Sturdy breaking on Skarmory, but again, it can techincally work anywhere depending on the rest of your team.

I don't why, but newer players are always attracted to Hail teams. The ones I see, anyways, haha. But yeah man, we're all available to answer any questions you have, and tutor you a bit if you'd like. Learning the VG is actually pretty easy once you know what works in the game and what doesn't so getting the basic strategies and combos down shouldn't be a sweat. Again, ask any of us VG guys if you have a question, there's nothing we like to do more than help newer players.
