Playthrough Keeper's PokeBeach Platinum Run -- Chapter 17 -- Unfinished

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 2

I think I'll try to put a new chapter up each week. They're rather short, and it doesn't take up too much time to write them.

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 2

My chapter for the week, as promised.

Keeper's PokéBeach Platinum Run

Easily made it through Route 204 and headed for Oreburgh Gate. Not much happened honestly, though I beat one lass who apparently had the Oreburgh gym badge already.
On the way, Zui Quan and Utena both had chances to dream-smash random trainers and level up once or twice.

*Keeper has entered #OreburghGate.
Oreburgh_Gate_1F_DPPt.png

<Zui Quan> Keeper.
*Zui Quan points.
<Zui Quan> Look.

<$WPM> I'm about to give you the HM Rock Smash!
<$WPM> Discuss!
*Keeper obtained HM Rock Smash.
<Keeper> ...Oh, right. It's an HM this gen.
<Keeper> Thanks WPM.
<Keeper> ...
<Keeper> ...WPM?
*Keeper has left #OreburghGate.
<$WPM> Sorry I was-
<$WPM> Oh.

Utena quickly smashed up the picnickers in the cave, letting us out the other side at last.

*Keeper has entered #OreburghCity.
800px-Oreburgh_City_DPPt.png

Once I got outside, some youngster told me I needed a badge. Well no duh.
He led me to the gym, where Gistica was waiting.
(This youngster was going to be another cameo, but hey, I moved that member to a different spot.)

<Gistica> Keeper!
<Keeper> That's me.
<Gistica> K, you need a new pair of running shoes or something, you're SOOO slow.
<Keeper> You try writing and playing at the same time.
<Gistica> ...
<Gistica> After I defeated the Gym Leader, he went off into the mines.
<Gistica> Gotta go now, off to do... Something!
*Gistica has left #OreburghCity

First off, Route 207 provided me with plenty of training opportunities and a Machop for Rock Smashing later. Utena picked up Mega Drain here as well.
And, since I'll be coming back and did nothing else noteworthy here, I'll save the big intro for another time.
Eventually, we made it to the mines.
Or just stopped procrastinating, whatever.

*Keeper has entered #OreburghMine.
Oreburgh_Mine_B2F_Pt.png

I let Utena take care of stray Geodude and Onix, switching to Zui Quan when facing Zubat or trainer's Machop. None of the workers in here were actually working, just relaxing and looking for battles. What a great use of time guys.
After our second trainer bout, Zui Quan evolved, so I guess they're good for something.

<Zui Quan> DUde.
<Zui Quan> I FeeL WeiRd.
*Keeper takes the bottle away from Zui Quan.
<Keeper> Just because the workers here have drinks and are slacking off doesn't mean you get to!
<Zui Quan> GiVE!
<Keeper> Nope. No drunken rage for you.
<Zui Quan> Toooo late for that. Learned Mach Punch.
<Zui Quan> Brb, wrecking Geodude face.

391.png

As much as I would have loved to keep grinding, I did have to call him back for safety reasons. A cave-in is not going to fit into the story-line very well.
Aside from that, I also picked up a handy-dandy Escape Rope. Because I'm too lazy to just walk back out.
The gym leader was also in here, taking his rage from his previous loss out on poor, defenseless, rocks.

<Keeper> ...May I interrupt?
<Yakkov> Wyanut?
<Keeper> I'm looking for a gym battle, are you supposed to be the gym leader?
<Yakkov> That's right, I am.
<Yakkov> But, of all types, I got stuck with Rock.
<Keeper> That's tough.
<Keeper> Being weak to all three starter pokémon?
<Yakkov> Yeah...
<Yakkov> Anyway, I'll be waiting at the gym.
*Yakkov has left #OreburghMine.
*Keeper used the Escape Rope!
*Keeper has left #OreburghMine.

A quick stop at the Pokémon Center and I was ready to take Roark Yakkov down.
Once inside the gym, I met Trainerhan1 at the door.

<Trainerhan1> o/
<Keeper> \o
<Keeper> Haven't you already defeated Yakkov?
<Trainerhan1> Well, yes. But that's as part of the Kalos league.
<Trainerhan1> And, though you don't know, I actually just beat him here as well.
<Keeper> Ugh, now I really feel slow.
<Trainerhan1> I could offer some helpful tips if you'd like?
*Keeper mashes A button.

Unfortunately for the youngsters inside the gym, Zui Quan still hadn't calmed down. Parts of Geodude and Onix went flying. Fortunately nobody else got hurt (and those things can put themselves back together. Who knew?).
Yakkov was hiding in the back.

<Yakkov> Take that back.
<Yakkov> I'm not hiding. This is my spot.

Yakkov was hiding waiting for me in his spot in the back.

<Keeper> !Challenge
<Yakkov> Welcome to the Oreburgh Gym!
<Yakkov> My name is Yakkov!
<Yakkov> I'm but one Trainer who decided to walk proudly with Rock-type Pokémon!
<Yakkov> As gym leader, I need to test your potential as a trainer.
<Yakkov> And, I'll need to see the toughness of the Pokémon that battle with you!
<Keeper> ...Way to read from the script.
<Keeper> Music!

budew.png
vs
geodude.png

Utena uses Growth, and Geodude uses Stealth Rock. When Utena grows again, Geodude decides to use Rock Throw, but it misses.

<Utena> HEY! LISTEN!
<Utena> Traget with the L button!
<Geodude> Wrong game, dude.

Mega Drain then OHKO'd Geodude before it got another chance.
She then decided she had enough Growths behind her to stay in against Onix.

budew.png
vs
onix.png

Mega Drain OHKOs before it does anything. Looking really good so far.

budew.png
vs
cranidos.png

<Yakkov> Think you can take this one down like you did earlier?
<Keeper> Um... Yes?

Mega Drain OHKOs.
Budew sweep ftw.

Poor Yakkov though, second third loss in a row. This time, to a baby pokémon.

<Yakkov> This is, like, worse then the Piplup sweep I faced earlier.
<Yakkov> But that's tough, you were strong and I was weak.
<Yakkov> Here is the Coal Badge, as proof you defeated me.
*Keeper has obtained the Coal Badge!
<Keeper> That's 1/8, ain't no stopping us now.

I left, though Yakkov also gave me TM Stealth Rock. I figured maybe I'd teach it to Zui Quan later, possibly when I transfer him to X after this run is done with.

I do hate backtracking, but I headed towards Oreburgh Gate again, mostly because I had no other choice. Of course, Gistica showed up and ran me over. Again.

<Gistica> Oh hey, Keeper!
<Gistica> Eterna City is the next place with a gym, right?
<Keeper> You would know if you had a map.
<Gistica> ...
<Gistica> That's where I'm heading next! Later!
*Gistica has left #OreburghCity
<Keeper> You know? He's not that fast in real life.
<Utena> lol

I promise to make Oreburgh Gate B1F quick.
Once inside Oreburgh Gate, I made my way to the back that was previously inaccessible.
I then found myself in Oreburgh Gate, B1F.

*Keeper has entered #OreburghGateB1F.
800px-Oreburgh_Gate_B1F_DPPt.png

I picked up TM Flash first, after just having to smash a few rocks.
Then, over to the left a bit, I found a Big Pearl. That could come in handy later.

I can't explore much of the bottom floor without a Bike or Surf, but I'll take what I can get. Especially when it let me grind my team a bit more.
I try to enter Jublife City, but I see blargh running up to me first.

<blargh> Tell me, have you not obtained a Pal Pad?
<blargh> Is not a Pal Pad free to anyone visiting the Pokémon Center's basement?
<Keeper> Well, as I won't be doing any trading, I didn't see the need for it.
<blargh> Fair point.
<blargh> Anyway, there appears to be no one shady in this Jublife City.
<blargh> Therefore, I will take my investigation elsewhere.
<blargh> And I'm supposed to be attending a Cities in Floaroma anyway.
<Keeper> Gl, hf.
*blargh has left #JublifeCity.

I actually planned to take this chapter all the way to Floaroma Town, maybe we'll see how well blargh did at his tournament.
On my way out of town though, I came to the conclusion that blargh is blind in this game.

<???1> Hand over the papers please.
<???2> For free, naturally.
<???2> Failure to comply will result in a painful time for your assistant.
<%PMJ> lol, what could you do to me?
*Keeper stops eavesdropping.
<camoclone> Ah, Keeper! How do you like this WW game?
<camoclone> Rather realistic, isn't it?
<Keeper> Dude I don't even.
<%PMJ> He never did listen.
<camoclone> Ah, you got the "Oreburgh Gym Badge" item.
<camoclone> It allows you to use the ability "Rock Smash" whenever you'd like.
<Keeper> Thanks for the info.
<???1> Don't ignore us!
<???2> We are speaking to you on business. Because this is work for us.
<???1> What we're saying is, we demand that you give us those papers.
<camoclone> Oh, quiet you lot! Kecleon and Porygon, there's a punishment for bothering mods.
<camoclone> Let me give you some other lessons you obviously don't know.
<camoclone> 1: Don't loiter about for no good reason.
<camoclone> 2: Don't interrupt others while they are trying to converse.
<camoclone> 3: If you don't get your way, don't raise your voice to be intimidating.
<camoclone> 4: Don't think you've grown strong just because you're in a group.
<camoclone> 5: What is with those outlandish outfits you have on?
<camoclone> My goodness, what kind of WW players are you?
<Kecleon-X> Eeeeeh, you had to make this personal!
<Porygon-X> You forced our hand into making a show of force!
<Keeper> Ouch, dude. Tongue got twisted?
<%PMJ> Eh, let's defeat these guys together Keeper.
<%PMJ> It will be faster this way.

391.png
387.png
vs.
431.png
434.png

Like any smart player, Kecleon orders his Glameow to Fake Out Zui Quan, preventing me from using Mach Punch. Porygon's Stunky hits PMJ's Turtwig with Fury Swipes (three times), and forces PMJ into using Withdraw.
Now free to attack, Zui Quan goes all rage-monkey and OHKOs Glameow. Turtwig gets hit twice from Fury Swipes, but takes much less damage this time, thanks to Withdraw. Turtwig then retaliates with Tackle.

391.png
387.png
vs.
434.png

Zui Quan proceeds to KO Stunky with Mach Punch. gg scum.

*Kecleon-X has run from #JublifeCity.
*Porygon-X has run from #JublifeCity.
<camoclone> Well done! I knew these roles were well written!
<%PMJ> We won't bother with the rest of the script. Come on camo, back to the lab.
*PMJ has left #JublifeCity.
*camoclone has left #JublifeCity.

<Zui Quan> Ugh, my HEAD.
<Keeper> You'll get over it once we get to Floaroma Town.
<sillykyle> Hold up!
<Keeper> Eh?
<sillykyle> Splendid battling back there, I want to give you this!
*Keeper has obtained the Fashion Case.
<sillykyle> Dress up your pokémon and watch their appeal grow!
<sillykyle> I'll see you in Hearthome for contests I assume?
<Keeper> Well I wasn't planning on it, but maybe.
<sillykyle> Excellent! I'll be waiting!
*sillykyle has left #JublifeCity.

With fashion case in hand, I was ready to be done with Route 204 and get to Floaroma Town.

*Keeper has entered #RavangedPath.
Ravaged_Path_Pt.png

Got the Potion near the entrance, then smashed the rocks to the left. The path there was blocked by a lake, but I was able to grab TM Rock Tomb before leaving. Didn't run into a single pokémon, I feel so happy.

*Keeper has entered #Route204 (finally).
370px-Sinnoh_Route_204_Pt.png

On the top part of this Route was an Aroma Lady who led off with a Budew against Utena. As my attack (yes, attack. Utena's other moves besides Mega Drain are all status moves.) wouldn't be effective, I switched out to Zui Quan, who OHKO'd the thing.
I also defated a Bug Catcher and Twins before getting TM Bullet Seed and entering Floaroma Town.

/End Chapter

Oh, I decided to do this now. Mostly because I planned on doing it before, but forgot. :p

<$WPM> I'm about to give you the HM Rock Smash!
<$WPM> Discuss!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHA
k I'm going to go read the rest of it now

Edit: Done.
Dammit KoNner why do you make me laugh so much.

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 3

I like this. Keep the nice work up, though I think you can manage that, considering you're KEEPER.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA OK I'M SORRY

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 3

Of course I'll keep it going.
So long as a wild boar doesn't take off with my DS case, I can't think of any reason why I'd stop.

Chapter 3

YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED.
While I chase down a wild boar, here's another chapter.

Keeper's PokéBeach Platinum Run
*Keeper has entered #FloaromaTown.
381px-Floaroma_Town_Pt.png

Big place overall. Too bad I can't access more then half of it.
I healed and picked the free berries by the shop.
Inside the Flower Shop, I saw a flyer for a pokémon TCG tournament. Eh... I can make a quick stop, assuming they haven't started yet. Better hurry!

<Utena> Jut a minet.
<Keeper> Spit those berries out Utena!
<Utena> So good thof.
*Utena swallows.
<Utena> I LOVE to eat!
<Keeper> ...Tempted to wonder if that's cannibalism or not.

*Keeper has entered #Route205.
471px-Sinnoh_Route_205_Pt.png

(Ugh, so many of these places are HUGE.)
I pass by briefly, rushing for the tournament held at the Valley Windworks.

*Keeper has entered #ValleyWindworks.
Valley_Windworks_Pt.png

I had to stop for a minute though, because there was a commotion going on in the grass.
Well... Not commotion. But a Shellos caught my eye.

<Shellos> Howdy.
<Keeper> Er... Hi?
<Shellos> You done caught me in the middle of a nap, but I 'eard you're lookin' for a Shellos for yer team there?
<Keeper> I reckon so.
<Shellos> I'm yer slug then.
*Shellos is now known as Slugger.
<Slugger> 'Member though.
<Slugger> I often doze off.
<Slugger> And when I do, I dun wan' to be disturbed.
<Keeper> Noted.

East Sea Shellos are too main-stream. Slugger, if you didn't notice, has a Lax nature
At the front of the Wind Works, I was informed that the main door was locked as the tournament had already started. Bummer.
But, I still wanted to see what was going on, so I went off to look for the key. I know that there's supposed to be two grunts holding it, but hey, the first guy didn't seem so bad. So I made the small trek back to Floaroma town.

*Keeper has entered #FloaromaMeadow.
765px-Floaroma_Meadow_DPPt.png

Yeah... Two nobodies thought it was a nice joke to take off with the key. Most interesting thing that happened? Stunky survived two Mach Punches with a sliver of HP left.
After beating them up, I was given a Honey from the by-standing old man for my heroic act.
I quickly ran back to the Valley Windworks and used the key to get inside. The man from before had disappeared, but why should I be worried about him?
The room was crowded with players, most sitting and finishing their matches. Finally, I made it to the back of the room.

<Keeper> o/
<Keeper> Why are you here LF?
<LuckyFire> I got subbed in early.
<Keeper> And... Now you're hosting a tournament?
<LuckyFire> Hm?
<LuckyFire> Oh, no. DNA is. I'm just helping.
<Keeper> DNA isn't supposed to be in this run.
<Keeper> As payback for me not being in his.
<Keeper> #Revenge.
<LuckyFire> *shrug* I don't write the script.
<Keeper> Makes me wonder who does.
<LuckyFire> Anyway, you missed the tournament. Care for a battle instead?
<Keeper> Wynaut?

shellos-west.png
vs.
041.png

LuckyFire leads off with Bite. Not bad. Slugger shoots off a Water Pulse and confuses the little bat.
Zubat still is able to attack, however, and uses Bite again. Slugger is still in the green, and fires off a second Water Pulse.
The confusion did nothing all battle, as LuckyFire kept spamming Bite for two more turns. After that, Water Pulse was enough to finally KO the thing. Pretty impressive though, as the Zubat was three levels higher then Slugger (who sat at level 11).
I switch to Zui Quan for Purugly.

391.png
vs.
432.png

Fake Out actually did a decent amount of damage, so I knew this wouldn't be too easy. Mach Punch doesn't even knock the cat to yellow, and then it hits back with Fury Swipes, putting a large dent in Zui Quan's health. Next turn, after my Mach Punch, LuckyFire goes for Scratch. Fortunately, my monkey survived with exactly 8 HP. The following Mach Punch is a KO. gg

<LuckyFire> Whoops! Messed that one up!
*DNA has entered #WindWorks.
<%DNA> My, my. Lose to a child, will you?
<Keeper> Oh, there you are.
<LuckyFire> DNA, will you shut it!
<LuckyFire> You can keep quiet around me! You only joined us recently. Don't think you're important.
<%DNA> Oh, but I am important. Trollolol.
<Keeper> ...Hey, LF.
<Keeper> Isn't this usually the point where I fight Team Galactic?
<Keeper> Have you seen them around?
<%DNA> ...
<LuckyFire> ...
<LuckyFire> Oh! Would you look at the time!
<LuckyFire> Time for us to go! Tournament's over! Bye!
*LuckyFire has left #WindWorks.
<%DNA> Er... What she said.
*DNA has left #WindWorks.

<Keeper> ...Well.
<Keeper> That's not suspicious.

Hmm...
I left the Wind Works, ready to tackle Eterna Forest.
...
My chat sense is tingling.

<blargh> Ah, it is you Keeper!
<Keeper> Yes...
<blargh> I finished my tournament in Floaroma Town.
<blargh> I heard reports of another tournament in this area. So, naturally, I came running.
<blargh> Where is it?
<Keeper> You missed it dude, they hightailed it out of here.
<blargh> ...
<blargh> I will go check inside!

<Keeper> ...Tick tock, blargh.

<blargh> Yes, it is!
<blargh> What you have said, it is all true!
<Keeper> Yup.
<blargh> I have heard reports of Team Galactic in Eterna City.
<blargh> To there, I must be off!
*blargh has left #WindWorks.

Finally, I could continue up Route 205.
Ugh, I wanted to stop here, but I can definitely fit in the little bit that is Eterna Forest.
TO ETERNA FOREST!

...I'm glad there was a healing stop at the end of the route, as my team had really taken a beating. I'd been letting Slugger do most of the battling, and he had already reached level 16. When he learned Hidden Power, I found out that it was supper effective to Water types. Aw yiss. (I'm pretty sure it's HP Grass, as Bug types resist it.)

*Keeper has entered #EternaForest.
788px-Eterna_Forest_Pt.png

<professorlight> Hello Keeper.
<Keeper> Oh, hi!
<professorlight> I need to get to Eterna City to work with the teams on the 7th Generation.
<professorlight> But I'm not such a great battler.
<professorlight> Could you help me get through this forest?
<Keeper> Of course!
<Keeper> Let's fly!

She was able to heal my pokémon after each battle, letting me grind the weaker members. Other then that, nothing exiting happened, and we made it to the end in record time.

<professorlight> Oh! There's the exit!
<professorlight> I'm so relieved... We finally got here.
<professorlight> I never would have been able to get through that by myself. Thanks!
<professorlight> Here, take this Soothe Bell. It will help you evolve Utena.
*Keeper has obtained the Soothe Bell.
*professorlight has left #EternaForest.

My team was all up to level 19 at this point. Looking good so far.
I forget how many events there are in Eterna City. Enough for their own chapter even!

*Keeper has entered Eterna City.
Eterna_City_DP.png

I have no need to heal, as I skipped the fishermen (for now) and was healed by profesorlight in Eterna Forest. So I ran off to the gym. Why not right? Maybe I can beat Gistica there this time.

<Prince Dedenne> o/
<Keeper> \o
<Prince Dedenne> I knew you'd be here eventually.
<Keeper> You're the gym leader I suppose?
<Prince Dedenne> Yup.
<Prince Dedenne> Knocked miss high-and-mighty NPC from her spot.
<Keeper> Uh huh.
<Prince Dedenne> My last challenger was this awfully speedy guy.
<Keeper> Did he luck-sack with a Starly lead?
<Prince Dedenne> ...
<Prince Dedenne> His name was Gistica, he told me about you.
<Prince Dedenne> he said another challenger was on his way, so that made me antsy!
<Prince Dedenne> I'll be awaiting your challenge from the back of the gym!
*Prince Dedenne left #EternaCity.

This will be too easy with a Monferno lead, but I am not going through with Utena and Slugger alone. Oh well, dream-smash time.

<Zui Quan> Giant clock at twelve o'clock.
<Keeper> Prince Dedenne has too much time on his hands, apparently.
<Trainerhan1> Ola.
<Keeper> Oh, you're here too?
<Keeper> I suppose you also already won your badge?
<Trainerhan1> Yup. You should step up the pace a bit.
<Trainerhan1> Need any helpful hints?
*Keeper mashes A button.

As predicted, the trainers were beaten around the clock. See my play on words?
Prince Dedenne was in the back, as promised.

<Prince Dedenne> You kept me waiting!
<Prince Dedenne> I'm Eterna's Gym Leader, Prince Dedenne, the Grass type master!
<Keeper> But why not the Electric leader?
<Prince Dedenne> So, anyway, this will be fun!
<Prince Dedenne> Let's have our battle!

391.png
vs.
387.png

Unfortunately, Zui Quan had been hit with a Stun Spore in a previous match, so Turtwig outsped and set up Reflect. It then took very little damage from Flame Wheel. Oh boy, this'll be fun. I had to Leer in order to get some good damage in next turn. Prince Dedenne hit with Razor Leaf for... Not much. Next turn, Turtwig uses Sunny Day. lolwut. My following Flame Wheel is a KO.

391.png
vs.
421.png

It transforms. Oh goody.

391.png
vs.
cherrim-sunshine.png

Then it uses Safeguard. I have a feeling all this set up will be for the big finish later. Flame Wheel takes off half it's HP. Next Turn, Magical Leaf crits, putting Zui Quan in the yellow. KO with Flame Wheel.

391.png
vs.
407.png

The big finish? Magical Leaf put Zui Quan at 7 HP, while he OHKO'd with Flame Wheel. gg

<Prince Dedenne> Wasn't it hard for you to raise your pokémon to be so good?
<Keeper> No. They're naturally awesome.
<Prince Dedenne> I guess that's a measure of how much you love your pokémon.
<Prince Dedenne> Take this!
*Keeper received the Forest Badge!
<Prince Dedenne> Oh, and TM Grass Knot! Because you never know.
<Keeper> Kthxbai.
<Prince Dedenne> Bai.

2/8
I have to heal Zui Quan afterwards, but then I could see the rest of the town finally.
Time for plot. I had to head north where a suspicious building is sitting. Is team galactic finally going to show up?

<Gistica> THUD
<Gistica> Keeper!
<Gistica> Lets go see the statue, ok?
<Keeper> But I was-
<Gistica> Let's go!

He literally dragged me across the street and up the stairs. The exact opposite place of where I wanted to go.

<Gistica> Here we are... What the...
<Keeper> I knew it! Team Galactic is making an appearance.
<TwistedTurtwig> ...So this is Eterna's pokémon statue...
<TwistedTurtwig> Shaping our world are time and space in an intertwining spiral.
<TwistedTurtwig> The pokémon of time and space...
<TwistedTurtwig> Pardon me, friends. Stand aside.
*TwistedTurtwig has left #EternaCity.
<Keeper> ...
<Gistica> You sure he's scum?
<Keeper> Don't argue with my logic.
<Gistica> Oh, hey, I had a flash of brilliance!
<Keeper> Congratulations!
<Gistica> ...
<Gistica> Make certain all your attacks hit! Avoid enemy attacks for sure!
<Gistica> You'd be the invincible trainer!
<Keeper> Are you suggesting evasion hax?
<Keeper> Sand Veil + Sandstorm + Lax Incense?
<Gistica> Er... Yes?
<Gistica> Anyway, see you around!
*Gistica has left #EternaCity.

I knew I had to have Cut to get to the Galactic HQ... But I had completely forgotten where to get Cut itself. So I decided to search Eterna first.

<???> Oh, that device you have...
<???> Is that a Pokédex? That brings back memories...
<???> Pardon me, Keeper.
*??? is now known as Kevin_Garret.
<Keeper> You know? I bet I could guess the rest of the league cast at this point.
<Kevin_Garrett> Have you seen the statue yet?
<Keeper> Yup, just came from there.
<Kevin_Garrett> Apparently, its a banned-to-ubers pokémon.
<Kevin_Garrett> Who knows? Maybe you'll run into something like that on your journey.
<Kevin_Garrett> Oh, take this!
*Keeper obtained HM Cut!
<Kevin_Garrett> That should help open up new places to you for exploring.
<Kevin_Garrett> I'm sure we'll meet again!
*Kevin_Garret has left #EternaCity.

I was given time to heal Zui Quan, finally, and then headed to the tree-guarded building on the north side of town.

<Utena> I am NOT learning Cut.
<Keeper> Just for this, please?
<Utena> Nope.
<Keeper Ugh... Fine.

I had to buy pokeballs just to go catch a Cut slave. I also found out the hard way that Wurmple does NOT learn Cut. Ended up just catching another Budew. But Zui Quan had gotten paralyzed (again) and needed to stop at the center again.
Then, I forgot about the Exp. Share. So I ran south to get that from the random assistant.
Now, with my team equipped with items(Oran Berry, Soothe Bell, Exp. Share), I was ready to tackle the suspicious building. ...I forgot to grab the Quick Claw, ok?
Once inside...

<???> Hello!
<Keeper> ...Hello random grunt.
<???> No no... It is me!
*??? is now known as blargh.
<blargh> Hahaha! I have startled you, yes?
<Keeper> Ever notice you sound like Yoda a bit?
<blargh> ...
<blargh> I am an officer of the international police. It is only natural I be a master of disguise.
<blargh> ...Incidentally, you are a first-rate trainer...
<Keeper> Thanks.
<blargh> ...Second only to DNA.
<Keeper> Wut.
<blargh> I therefore think you will be ok, but I must warn you to be careful anway.
<blargh> The grunt here, they do not appear to be.... ah, how you say, smart.
<Keeper> Smart. S-M-A-R-T.
<blargh> ...
*blargh is now away.

I know how to distinguish the trap steps and the ones that lead higher, but I like items and love experience. So I took them all!
Found an X Speed, X Special... Who actually uses these?
Oh, the scientist on the third floor. Sorry Slugger!
Too many Zubat for Utena though. Zui Quan was the MVP here, with Slugger being his best bud in the double battles.
After a run to heal, I came back, grabbed the Blue Shard and Revive, and made my way to the op of the building.

<Astra> o/
<Keeper> Don't o/ me.
<Keeper> I'm here to get those pokémon back.
<Astra> Not to participate in THE CHALLENGE!!?
<Astra> Fine, battle time then.

De ja vu.
Water Pulse hit the Zubat to yellow, while it did the same to Slugger with Bite.
2HKO.
I switched to Zui Quan for the Skuntank.

T1
Poison Gas, Flame Wheel
Skuntank isn't even in yellow.
T2
Smokescreen, Flame Wheel
It ate it's Sitrus Berry. -_-
T3
Night Slash, Flame Wheel
My attack missed. -_-
T4
Night Slash, Flame Wheel
I'm down to 3 HP after poison damage.
T5
Night Slash, ???
I meant to hit Mach Punch, but I guess I misclicked.
Zui Quan was KO'd.

Utena survives with 2 HP and paralyzes the thing. Thank goodness. Next turn it was paralyzed, so I got it to red with two Mega Drain.

Now, Slugger can outspeed.
...
...
Mud Bomb missed. Great.

I send out my slave Budew, who doesn't survive the KO but lets me Revive Zui Quan.

Flame Wheel. gg
(It was a little bumpy, but that's the first time I've beaten Jupiter first try. Yay.)

<Astra> Wow.
<Astra> So much hax that game.
<Keeper> Tell me about it.
<Astra> Well, the current challenge is ending anyway.
<Astra> I'll be leaving for now.
*Astra has left #Building.
<Dr.Mario> I got my pokémon back, and its all thanks to you!
<Dr.Mario> But that Astra character...
<Dr.Mario> his logic baffles me still.
<Dr.Mario> Come by my trade thread later, ok?
*Dr.Mario has left #building.

I left the building, and went to see Dr.Mario in his trade thread bike shop.

<Kevin_Garrett> Oh, there you are Keeper.
<Kevin_Garrett> I want you to take this egg.
<Keeper> But I know what's inside.
<Keeper> And I'm not using it in this run.
<Kevin_Garrett> Oh, wait, don't leave without this egg!
<Keeper> ...
<Keeper> You're not letting me leave without that egg, are you?
<Kevin_Garrett> Nope.
<Keeper> Fine.
<Kevin_Garrett> That's wonderful!
<Kevin_Garrett> Keep that egg in your party to hatch it.
<Keeper> Uh huh...
<Kevin_Garrett> See you again!
*Kevin_Garrett has left #EternaCity.
*Keeper deposits Egg in #PC.

Inside the bike shop, Dr.Mario gives me a bike. Well its about darn time. Maybe I can get ahead of Gistica and Trainerhan now.
(Oh, and I went back and beat those Fishermen now.)

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 5

There are 2 Ts in Garrett, just so you know.
Also,

<TwistedTurtwig> ...So this is Eterna's pokémon statue...
<TwistedTurtwig> Shaping our world are time and space in an intertwining spiral.
<TwistedTurtwig> The pokémon of time and space...
<TwistedTurtwig> Pardon me, friends. Stand aside.
*TwistedTurtwig has left #EternaCity.
<Keeper> ...
<Gistica> You sure he's scum?
<Keeper> Don't argue with my logic.
TT is scum based on the logic that he is always on the scum team. Always.

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 5

Even in WW XX? I KNEW IT.

Hnn...
going by your role-logic, I am...
M-M-MAYLENE!?
or... I feel like I'm one of the following;
  • Fantina
  • Maylene
  • Crasher Wake

Oh god.
a 2/3 chance to be Female
o_O

RE: KoN's PokeBeach Platinum Run--Chapter 5

Don't worry. I threw out the gender roles.
Even if a member ends up playing a character of the opposite gender, they're still referred to correctly.

See how Astra is Jupiter?
Yup.

If only everyone could be so progressive. :D

I'm not sure why more people haven't caught onto this. It's quite entertaining, and I always get away with it because of the Gambler's Fallacy, which I completely circumvent anyway.
