(1) 'Pokemon Double Album Box' in August [7/7]

Aww, they should've at least included the third and final B/W mini album... If they had, I might've considered buying it...

They need to find better ways to sell stock of old cards. Selling them like this is just cheating people.

Will you guys please stop your complaining? They have to do something so everyone can have a chance to get caught up on those sets. Not everyone can get the sets as they come out. I am lucky if I get cards every 6 months or so. For people like me that can't get these cards as often as I would like to at least we still have the chance to do it while we still can. Not everyone is on the same level as you guys. You guys just have more money to blow. If you are so annoyed please find another place to do it.:( Sorry mods but it is starting to get out of hand so I hope I don't get warned. Seriously. They do this so that way the can stay ahead and keep printing the future sets. For every box sold means more money for the business XD. That is why they make boxes like this XD.:)

These are cards that I hjave been trying to get the cards from. I am a collector not a competitor. I always try to get the older sets while I still can because when I trade for newer cards I can trade them for 2 rares depending on how long the set has been out. In 10 years these cards will be worth 2 or 3 rares when you trade XD. They also get harder and harder to find when they are out longer XD.:)

I'm not going to blame them for trying to get rid of the packs. If you were Nintendo, would you rather keep them stored up forever or make some money off of them, as little as it may be? Sooner or later a collector, a child, or a beginning player is going to buy them, even though most of us don't intend to.

The reason you guys don't is because they are no longer playable in the format. I got news for you. They are still playable. The question is why get rid of some good cards that you can still use in a future deck? Just because they are not in format does not EVER mean they are not playable. Before I forget to mention this is also a great way to get started if you are a beginner. This is also a great way to build a deck or a great way to build a half deck if you guys play half decks. Nowhere does it say they are no longer playable. You can still play the cards. Just not at tournaments. At home or with friends you can still do it. Just like with any other set. I have seen people still play the game with the original cards. I see them at the mall sometimes in the food court playing with the older set cards. Not always but once in a great while XD.:) Be thankful that these cards are still around because there will be a time before they will be hard to find XD.:)

You don't understand how I see it though. All I am saying is they can use these cards to help build their decks and fantasize their decks as they build them. These would be great for the collector or non-competitor. Not everyone collects them to compete. In my book it will be a great way to get started with any deck. Just not the tournament deck. They are still playable. Just not at tournament. Who on earth knows why but whatever. I don't see why they don't have different levels of tournaments. Ones for new format and ones for old format. If they did this everyone would still be able to use them no matter what XD.:)

I will agree with some of that. Me and my friends didn't get started by buying premade decks, we got started by sifting through our old cards and buying any packs that seemed cool. Before we started playing with the format, packs were packs, and cards were cards. If they seemed usable, we'd try to find a way to use them, and with such a limited collection on us, I think it helped with teaching us how to make interesting decks.

That makes a lot more sense XD. Problem solved.:)

I'll vouch for the prospect of beginner players purchasing something like this. I just got back into the Pokemon TCG a week and a half ago and only had the slightest idea of where to start. I understood the concept of theme decks, so I bought a few of those. After that, I bought anything (and everything >.<) that looked cool. THEN I did some research, learned about the format, found out which cards worked well with others, and began to buy more selectively. Yes, I have some cards that will be going out of format (or have done so already), but I don't mind collecting them!

I wouldn't mind getting rid of a few monkeys though... ;)

As much as Im a promo junkie... not getting this box :/ too many reprints-unless the art was totally different. I really collect more than play so old card sets dont bother me-gives me a chance to get that one card I could never get from that set! I hope they dont stop doing the figures-buuuuttt they should make new ones. I would LOVE black/white Kyurem tcg figures! ^-^

The hate toward the monkeys is far more annoying to me than people hating that they're grouping together a bunch of packs from less playable/about to be rotated sets. It's as tired as people hating on Bidoof in the video games back in 2007 or something.

I actually enjoy the monkeys...The packs are kind of a disappointment though. But I'll get over it.
