(1) B/W Starter Pokemon Revealed in CoroCoro Scans [5/12]

My overall opinion is pretty meh.
What with all the hype and the fanart, I thought they'd look a lot cooler.
Though they may grow on me.


Actually, the water just looks pretty stupid and clownish...

I like the idea of adults instead of kids. Other than that I don't have a big opinion on the starters. I like the fire one more than I thought I would, but I'll wait longer until I actually decide if I like them or not.

What in the good name of God is up with the girl's hair?
 
So, the protagonists are older than the ones in past games.

Could this mean that they're finally trying to appeal to their older audiences?

Agree with all of that.

The trainers don't look like adults to me. More like teenagers I'd say.
 
I like the grass starter

The fire starter is definitely a pig and from this day on until the names are revealed I shall call it Pork Chop

The water starter is the most intriguing. It kind of looks like a snow man/some sea creature combination.

I like the designs, its a welcome change from the usually predictable Pokemon designs. Though the grass starter is eerily similar to Cyndaquil.

Next stop: Starter evolutions
 
I like the Snowball-faced Polar Bear/Beaver thing.

If it's "far away" that could mean it's not based in Japan (My logic based on, we've seen the length and breath of Japan). My guess is Russia, North of Sinnoh is in Russia and the Silph Scientist was based at the Tikisi branch, In Russia.

That probably means we can't travel to other regions. :(

I'm really excited though! The starters are all very cute.
 
I"m actually dissapointed with all of them, the fanart here was much cooler, I hope they won't screw up the evolutions..
 
Oh, and I love the characters. I don't think her hair is super big, I think it's just an awkwardly high and voluminous ponytail.
 
I love all of them.

This will be the first Generation where I choose the Water Type as my starter (I have chosen grass 4 times in a row).

I sure hope it's fake. Those starters are ugly as sin.
 
The Grass Type is awesome, It"ll have cool evolutions
Fire is ok, I hope it won't end up being a big fat pig.
but what the hell is that blue-white thing supposed be?
 
I hope that the piggy has wings in it's final form, so that when people say, "When pigs fly!" I can direct them to the Pokemon.:D
 
i don't know the images have some drawing flaws, such as the circle on the belly of the water starter, and the battle screen shot of the grass and fire battling, it doesn't look like the zoroark battle screen or any previous games, its kinda just all one color, like you could do in photoshop. I'm not saying they are bad, I'm sure if they are real i will eventually like them, just the hype and waiting and all the ideas, they could have done something a little more to amaze me, but they are all very cute
