Move up to NorCal. It's where it's happening, and there are less places with crime! XD just kidding. Yeah when I first read that a guy asked if you could get internet I thought he was gonna use his own laptop and it would be the one yuo had lost. XD AKWARD! O_O But no, he just tried to mug you...
 
dude...you are seriously lucky you didn't get stabbed and mugged...and had that been L.A. proper, you probably would have been...especially after what you were told by the cops...good thing though that you weren't and that you're ok...I'll have to tell ChairmanKaga about this one, wow

next time man...just close the laptop on the first instance and walk away...because while you're ok this time, these are desperate times, and yelling out like that could have easily gotten you stabbed (while you were yelling) while he ran off with the laptop
 
That's a crazy story indeed. I don't think I could have remained so calm myself. :D However, I doubt I would be on the street in LA with a laptop either to be honest. Was there a Starbucks nearby? I would have just popped in there and used their free wi-fi if it was me. Better than being in the street if you ask me. Either way, good thing everything turned out somewhat ok.

It got built up all week and then the only allusion in this post was that there's "no news," and I guess we're to assume that the announcement was missed because of this terrible debacle. I apologize for the frightening experience and I certainly hope you're okay, but in my experience, it's always better to live, learn, and move on. Focusing on positive things will allow you to move on, such positive things as... this hyped announcement we never really figured out. :D

So you couldnt had gone to a McDonalds or a BK instead? Order a soda, get free WiFi... Even Starbucks or some other place like that offer free WiFi.

So we dont get here what was revealed on PKSun... I guess thats better than been mugged. Altho, I think that PokeBeach should get its own blog/livejournal to post this kinds of stories, dont you think?

Yes. These stories are way more interesting than what I've read in the past. Hmm... You should see what you can write about other people's laptop issues. Lol.

Lesson #5: When you're getting mugged, remember: chubby men on bikes are more prone to falling over. Simply beat the man senseless when they're distracted and push him over. Continues shoving your foot into his face until he cries like a small child. Then, take the bike, throw it at the man himself, pickpocket the thief, and call 9-1-1. And they all lived happily ever after.
 
Wow what an amazing story that you even lived, let alone still have your laptop. Yeah, Idk about you but I wouldn't go out in public with anything that expensive or important for a very long time, especially in the streets of California. What really surprises me is how you described his face changing accurately, yet can't give a description to the police. XD People like that should be locked up forever.

You might want to make this a bit clearer in your post. As you've written it, it sounds like you expect for the announcement to be nothing more than Pokemon Ranger before you actually watch it, but never really end up getting definite confirmation one way or the other. We're given the long narrative of your troubles with the bicyclist, all of which sound like they interrupt your viewing of Pokemon Sunday (how couldn't they, after all?) before you get any news.

Based on how you've written the post, my partner and I both inferred from your writing that you had just ended up getting so distracted from Pokemon Sunday that you missed the announcement, and your suppositions were never really confirmed one way or the other. Coupled with the only clarification we're given--"no news today"--it sounds like you missed the announcement. Instead, it seems from what you're telling me like the announcement was actually made but is, because disappointing to all of us wanting 5th gen reveals, simply not noteworthy.

As for the "news," can I get a collective "UGGGGGH?" :(
 
hmm, i just noticed something. WPM you said he grabbed your laptop with both of his hands, right? why dont you just ask them to see who's fingerprint it is?
 
TomSkylark, I think I'd be more woried about Jon almost be robbed, and posibly killed. INSTEAD of the news. xD

I hate people like that more then I hate bullies, traffic, and other bad things mixed together. Everytime I hear a story like this I want to find the guy and get him behind bars. I'm just glad to hear nothing BAD happened.

sonicyellow that's a good idea. I wonder if it could help in finding him.
 
You'll be lucky if your brother ever lets you use his laptop again. I'm glad you weren't hurt or anything. Let's hope the laptop curse goes away soon!
 
We mentioned it to them but they didn't see very interested in checking. It's probably too much trouble or something.
 
WPM, will wonders ever cease? Anyways, I am just glad our Admin. is ok. Hope nothing like that ever happens to you again.
