  • That is quite unfortunate but as you said there are plenty of nice people who are in your very shoes needing to resort to online communities for their battling / trading / general Pokemon needs so no worries. Since I've just recently gotten into semi-competitive battling scene, I'm more or less doing same myself since my brother really isn't keen for competitive playing. We both just played casually up until this generation so it's kind of a new experience for us.

Nicely done! At least now when the remakes make their appearance you'll be in a similar position as myself regarding the region's Pokemon.

Yes! I'm quite an anime fan. I've watched loads of series; most recent additions are Noragami, Mahou Sensou, Kakumeiki Valvrave, Sekai Seifuku and Strike the Blood. Although that doesn't even hit the tip of the iceberg, haha. My favorite anime genres are action, supernatural, romance and science-fiction but I'm still willing to others a shot if they're appealing enough. What about for you? What series and genres are to your liking?
    New availability thread :/

Anyhoo, just letting you know that I'll be sure to give more advance notice next time that I might be gone for a few days, I just hadn't thought about how busy this weekend might be.
Can I ask that you remove the middle part of your conversation with professorlight? I'd hate to mini mod, but it does reveal something about the game that shouldn't be said after death
I'l tell you something I used on the first game I GM'd; it was kinda the philosophical driving force behind the whole setup:

"-Feel the echoes. Cruelty leads to suffering. And when one suffers, it is the way of life to spread suffering. The suffering within builds, until its sound is all one hears.
    ...
-You see, the war, the true war was never waged by weapons, or vehicles. The true war lies in you, in doing the right thing; or the wrong one. How could you know? in a galaxy full of deception, of predators... and prey.
-And the answer is... you can only hope."

In a way, that is a perfect description of the game; cruelty builds up, and if you can't counter it with fun and hope, that's when you're really dead; not by something so silly as "lynching".
    Drohn, Thanks! :)
And I also enjoy watch FMA: Brotherhood (just started that last week), I finished the SAO anime, and I watched AoT last year. So I'm working on FMA and I think I might start FairyTale. Not sure though.
And Hoenn.... believe it or not, Ruby was my first GBA game and my first Pokemon game. I'm not sure why I dislike it so much really. I guess I think it's lacking a little in length, and R/S have hardly anything to do post E4 (at least Emerald got the Battle Frontier). I like Johto a lot though. The fact that you get to beat SIXTEEN gyms, beat Team Rocket (AGAIN!), and Vs Red (The flippin' Protagonist from the last game) is awesome to me. Plus it has a lot of my favorite Pokemon. Umbreon, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-oh, Heracross, Smeargle, Shuckle, Murkrow, Quilfish, Houndoom, Celebi, and Red Gyarados.
Don't worry, I understand it completely. They focus too much on winning, rather than fair play or even enjoying it, that's why it makes me sad to watch; this game can be so fun you don't even know. Enlightening, too, it can teach you a lot about yourself, and others.
Indeed, it really did. It completely reshaped the Pokemon world from the earlier generations so hopefully it can once again contribute to it's legacy. Oh man, diving was so much fun and I agree about adding the 3D element. Hopefully the Abandoned Ship is still around though, that BGM is one of my favorite pieces from the region. (Although, practically all of Hoenn's BGM was awesome imo)

Since I play with my brother from time to time we usually always get opposite versions so just like last time I'm getting Ruby. Charmander is my favorite starter evolutionary line from Kanto and arguably of all time so great minds think alike. Design wise Treecko wins for Hoenn imo so it's my reasoning in me leading to pick him. Both were respectfully my initial choices in said games so that is another point of interest in making my decision.

I actually tried to avoid using Hoenn region pokemon if possible so that I could re-experience playing them with hopefully updated graphics / movepool(s) so everything is fair game when the time comes around.

I second that notion. The entire Mega mechanism is a really fun feature that I hope continues to grow on with future installments. Mega Mew eh? I feel that it is a possibility due to it making an appearance in Emerald and as you said, Mewtwo got one so why not the ancestor of all pokemon? :D Your suggestion to the location makes complete sense if they do decide to allow players to acquire it in-game and not as a promotional gift.
Actually, your death did hurt them, because it gave them less to work with. Since they knew who you were and for whom you played, and you even gave them the guy who could hurt them, they could have kept you alive and under watch to see what you did next.
Lying and accussing is dependent on each person's unique style, actually; in my games I think I only voted for lynching like 3 or 4 times, and even those were quite safe; being honest actually helps you more than being a deceitful SOB in the long run, especially here, where metagaming is encouraged.
    Haha, I know right!?

I was pretty excited to hear about the remakes, it was long overdue and I'm certain that I'll be pleased with it regardless with what they decide to do with the region.

Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one yearning for it; they always say that good things come to those who wait.

You know, this raises the question? Who shall I pick for my starter? Hmm...kinda undecided there but I suppose Kimori (Treecko) is in the lead for the moment. What about for yourself? Have you contemplated about that yet?

Another factor that may affect my final decision is if we're going to get some form revamp for the older Pokes; in the form of Mega(s) / alternate formes or perhaps even a new method. At least the cover Legendaries already seem to some form of revamp.
No, I meant in general; since the mafia know each other they can act completely normal with each other; the town, however, suspects everyone, so they treat everyone like dirt; just look how they chose to kill you because you were confirmed independent (yet harmless) instead of going after the serial killer you so kindly gave them; that's a prime example of the kind of fear-motivated reasoning the town gets. It's not bad per se, but it is slightly idiotic. Not to mention how they can read "scummy" things even when they don't have anything to go on.

In a way, you were actually better off as mafia or independent (if you had reached out to keeper) than as town, since you'd have to be nasty to be town.
Can't blame you; watching the game here makes me sad. Literally. I'ts like watching a bunch of terminators arguing using annoying syntax, or a car crash.
You can be nice and be mafia, however, don't get discouraged by that; in my experience, mafia is much nicer than town, since they don't have any paranoia to deal with.
So... do you see now why I keep myself as far away of mafia games here as possible?
Sorry you got your roles mixed up, though.
