Meganium from Mega Symphonia

Chikorita, Bayleef, and Meganium have been revealed from Mega Symphonia, which releases in Japan on August 1st. Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will combine to form the majority of the international set Mega Evolution, which releases September 26th.

Meganium - Grass - HP160
Stage 2 - Evolves from Bayleef

[G][G][C][C] Solar Beam: 140 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: None

Yanmega suddenly attaches 6 energies with this one on the field... but indeed, it's a stage 2 in a world of Budew with a useless Stage 1.

Ogerpon loves this
I was actually confused by the wording of Ogerpon's attack, but I double-checked with the judges of my locals, and they agreed that it would work. Could be a fun way to make Ogerpon a primary attacker, as although it's certainly possible now, it can be a bit fiddly to get it dealing notable damage.

I doubt it'll see any play, but fun to think about.

This has potential… unfortunate that it’s a stage 2 but it does have potential. There might be a chance we get baby Emboar and Gatr too in this set if they do all of the starters.

Meganium art kind of reminds me of the Neo Genesis art. Now, if only the holo rare could look good, though. I hate the SWSH/SV holo pattern.

I would love to see a full art Super Rare/Special Art for Meganium. Very possible art rare, though, since some Holo Rares tend to get one.

Ah bummer it's average :( was hoping we'd have all 3 Johto starters with great single prize decks, but sadly Meganium still trails behind Gatr and Typhlosion

This is an improvement over Venusaur in GLC. It also can double as an extender in Mega Venusaur decks with as little as a 1-0-1 line (since you'd likely already play Rare Candy).
