“Mega Evolution” Pokemon TCG Set Announced for September!

Mega Evolution will be the name of our next English set!

TPCi revealed it in a new English version of the trailer that revealed Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia a few days ago. The English trailer reveals our booster pack artwork will be different from Japan's.

As we posted before, Mega Evolution will release on September 26th. The set's products will be revealed on July 10th.

Our English set will feature 132 cards before secret rares, which means it will mostly contain the cards from the equivalent Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia Japanese sets.

Here is the upcoming Japanese TCG schedule:

Our November set will at least feature the cards from Inferno X and the Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex decks.

Oh I hope those images of Mega lucario and gardevoir are our pack arts, SV era 3D rendered pack arts were boring
 
It’s so funny seeing the difference in product design/marketing between Japanese and English. Even now, when the two releases are more aligned than ever, they still use slightlyyy different key art and design elements lol

I mean, transfer also makes sense with the name
 
At least the people talking about Rare Candy rotating will shut up now. It does look like Research will rotate though, which probably means Boss will too.
 
I wonder if the naming convention going forward is going to be "Mega Evolution: [set name]" (like SV) or "Mega + [word]" (like BREAKthrough and BREAKpoint)

Also I love that the thing that the two Kalos-focused eras of the TCG have in common is that they change nothing about the card layout compared to the previous era
 
I can't help but think mega latias ex could work in dragapult. 300 is a pretty good damage number to hit only cutting short of stage 2 ex and stage 1+ megas. It does use the same energy types as dragapult, but given lillies Clefairy ex is running around with Gardevoir, it's high risk high reward.
