“Paldean Fates” Guide: Card List, Secret Rares, Cut Cards, Products, and More!

We now have the complete set list for Scarlet & Violet – Paldean Fates!

Paldean Fates consists of 245 cards: 91 in the main set and 154 secret rare cards. Its primary source is Japan’s Shiny Treasure ex, which released in December.

All of the secret rare Pokemon are shiny. This is the main appeal of this set and what fans will be chasing. This is also why the number of secret rares far outnumber the cards in the main set.

The shiny Pokemon in our set have holo borders, unlike their Japanese counterparts. Both feature textured artwork.

This set introduces gold Pokemon with a raised texture. (Ours are printed identically to Japan’s.)

The main set of 91 cards consists of 45% brand new cards and 55% reprinted cards. It’s a “mismash” set. The 41 new cards come from Japan’s Shiny Treasure ex, a couple of Japanese promos, and cards that were cut from Paradox Rift. Otherwise, the main set includes 50 reprinted cards from Scarlet & Violet, Paldea Evolved, Obsidian Flames, and 151.

The main set also includes the long-delayed print of Nemona in her violet Uva Academy outfit, which originally released in the Japanese ex Starter Set Fuecoco & Ampharos ex at the start of the Scarlet & Violet era.

Because this is a special set, its products will have staggered releases: on January 26th, February 9th, and February 23rd. Different products will release every two weeks. As with all special sets, individual booster packs will not be sold; you can only find them within the set’s special products. The full product list is further down in this article.

This set continues the naming convention of 2018’s Hidden Fates and 2020’s Shining Fates. They also featured shiny Pokemon.

A big thanks goes to Steffenka for compiling the set list below!

“Paldean Fates” Set List

Some of our English cards have been upgraded from non-holo to holo. This includes Magmortar, Heat Rotom, Exeggutor, Xatu, Gholdengo, and Cyclizar.

A few English reprints have upgraded rarities, such as Kirlia and Primeape (going from common to uncommon) and Mabosstiff (from uncommon to rare).

“Paldean Fates” Secret Rares

For Paldean Fates packs, “Baby Shinies” and full art Shinies are found in the first reverse holo slot.

Shiny Illustration Rares, Shiny Special Illustration Rares, and gold Ultra Rare cards are found in the second reverse holo slot.

Full Art Supporters are in the regular holo slot.

Because of this seeding, it’s possible to get a pack with a Shiny Pokemon in both reverse holo slots. Furthermore, it should also be possible to pull three chase cards in one pack (though we haven’t seen this yet).

Pull Rates

  • Shiny Rare: 1/4 packs
  • Shiny Ultra Rare (Full Art): 1/13 packs
  • Illustration Rare: 1/14 packs
  • Ultra Rare (Full Art): 1/15 packs
  • Special Illustration Rare: 1/58 packs
  • Gold Hyper Rare: 1/62 packs

The Shiny Rare Pokemon (“Baby Shinies”) are the most common cards to pull at about 1 out of 4 packs.

The full arts, shiny full arts, and Illustration Rares have similar pull rates at about 1 out of 15 packs.

The Special Illustration Rares and gold Hyper Rares are the rarest, at about 1 out of every 60 packs.
