“Mask of Change” Releasing in April Featuring Ogerpon ex; New Ogerpon, Charizard, and Chien-Pao TCG Products!

We previously revealed March 22nd would see the release of a Crimson Haze set.

We can now reveal the next set, Mask of Change, will release in Japan on April 26th!

As we speculated before, the set will be headlined by Ogerpon ex. The set will also see the release of a deck box and card sleeves featuring Terastallized Ogerpon wearing her Teal Mask.

Three weeks later on May 17th, a “Special Jumbo Card Set Ogerpon” will release featuring an Ogerpon promo card, a jumbo version, and an “Ogre Mask” promo card. The product will also come with eight booster packs of the set, a card display stand, and a coin.

Presumably the “Ogre Mask” promo will be a Pokemon Tool that allows Ogerpon to change into her Wellspring Mask (Grass/Water), Hearthflame Mask (Grass/Fire), or Cornerstone Mask (Grass/Rock, or Grass/Fighting in TCG terms).

On May 17th, Japan will also see the release of two “Battle Master Decks” featuring Chien-Pao ex or Tera Charizard ex. Each package will come with a 60-card deck, a pack of 64 card sleeves, a playmat, a coin, and damage counters. They’ll retail for 3,000 yen each.

Presumably the cards will be reprints with alternate artwork. This may be how Japan gets the full art Tera Charizard ex from our Charizard ex Premium Collection. It’s currently English-exclusive.

Last September we also discovered a trademark for Night Wanderer. We have no other information about the set at this time. However, it should release in June or July.

I was hoping WPM would surprised us with the reprint of classic tcg with individual deck.

I hope the masks aren't going to be done through a tool card. Why can't we just have a card for each mask form? :/ There's only four of them.

Well the nice thing about if it was a tool is then you could Arven for it, which would increase its competitive potential greatly.

Masks will probably be an Ace Spec like they did with Genesect EX from Plasma Blast
See idk I feel like they won’t be an ace spec that way you can have more than one different type for your opergon in one deck. Plus if they were an ace spec opergon would have to be rly good to see because it wouldn’t be able to play Prime Catcher or any other Ace spec.

If the masks are ace specs, Opergon will be more vulnerable to lost vacuum than if the masks were not ace spec masks: lost zone means out for game, and if Opergon base is not as strong as masked... :(
