Kingdra from “Ancient Roar”

Kingdra and its evolution line have been revealed from the Japanese sets Ancient Roar and Future Flash, which release in Japan on October 27th. We expect most cards from these sets to be incorporated into Paradox Rift, our November set.

Horsea – Water – HP60

[W] Hook: 20 damage.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

Seadra – Water – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Horsea

[W][C] Bubble Beam: 50 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

Kingdra – Water – HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Seadra

[W] Whirltide: Reveal the top 6 cards of your deck. This attack does 60 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon for each Energy card you find there. Then, discard those Energy cards and shuffle the other cards back into your deck. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

[W][C] Hydro Splash: 120 damage.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

The fact that Kingdra doesn't specify Water energy deserves a single clap. Getting Energy into your discard fast is definitely something that might interest a few decks.

An upgrade to Infernape from Brilliant Stars, since this one can snipe and digs 1 card deeper (albeit at a lower multiplier/max damage).

Kingdra has rouge potential. Possibly a 1 of if we ever get another good kingdra card.

While it is more difficult to do consistent damage turn to turn with this attack, it is much stronger than discarding important trainer cards with the attack.

we need good Kingdra ex or this kingdra won’t be worth to play. we still have Manaphy for over year
