Aegislash Line from “Raging Surf!”

The Aegislash line has been revealed from the Japanese set SV3a Raging Surf, which releases in Japan on September 22nd. We expect Raging Surf to be incorporated into Paradox Rift, our November set.

Stage 1 – Evolves from Honedge

[C] Slash: 20 damage.

[M][C] Slashing Strike: 80 damage. During your next turn, this Pokémon can’t use Slashing Strike.

Retreat: 2


Aegislash – Metal – HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Doublade

Ability: Sacred Shield
Prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks from your opponent’s Pokémon ex and Pokémon V.

[M][C] Hard Bash: 120 damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by any effects on your opponent’s Active Pokémon.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Grass (-30)
Retreat: 3

Obviously not a tier 1 deck or anything but this thing would be pretty decent with Gorgeous Cape. It can tank any meta relevant single prizer's hit (to memory, at least) as well as attacks from Duraludon VMAX and Giratina V, and you could easily move energies around with Battle Styles' Bronzong to Cheryl damage off of it without losing momentum
