Ninetales Illustration Rare from “Ruler of the Black Flame!”

The illustration rare print of Ninetales was revealed from the Japanese set SV3 Ruler of the Black Flame, which releases in Japan on July 28th and will form part of our Obsidian Flames set in August.

We recently translated all of the base rarity cards from Ruler of the Black Flame.

Ninetales – Fire – HP120
Stage 1 – Evolves from Vulpix

[R} Will-o-Wisp: 20 damage.

[R][R] Nine-Taled Dance: Put 9 damage counters on 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon. During your next turn, this Pokémon can’t attack.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Beautiful but bad card... if only it could attack every turn...or at least give it free retreat for combos.

Maybe Ninetales could be interesting paired with Kingambit? But there's lots of easier ways to get at least 4 damage counters on something, so idk, just brainstorming.

Now, lemme think here, this says "9 damage counters" and not "90 damage", so I think Choice Belt is null here.

Okay, SO, I'm serious about Pokemon opening a physical exhibit for TCG art. I would be thrilled to see pieces from people like Arita-san and Komiya-san in real life!

I cant decide if I want it to be organized by years/formats, by artists (omg kouki saitou's hall!!!) or by pokedex order... anyway, we need a whole building for the museum!

You're welcome. There should be no, er-hem, leaks in the boat around here. Why sink everyone's boats when there's awesome art being put out by the TCG artists on a consistent basis?
