‘Shiny Star V’ Officially Revealed, Contains 127 Shiny Pokemon!

Creatures has just revealed Shiny Star V at Japan’s Yokohama Regionals! The booster pack features shiny Charizard, Toxtricity, Centiskorch, Dragapult, Ditto, Lapras, and Boltund.

As posted before, the set will contain 190 cards before secret rares and will feature shiny reprints. It’s now been revealed there will be 127 shiny Pokemon as secret rare cards… meaning the set will have over 300 total cards! Shiny Charizard VMAX was revealed as card #308/190. Shiny Decidueye (#202/190) and Oranguru (#297/190) were also revealed. (The shiny Charizard V from our Champion’s Path will obviously be in this set too.)

The main portion of the set will include the following reprinted cards. This includes cards that were previously exclusive to the English TCG, like our Zacian V promo and alternate art Eldegoss V from Champion’s Path:

The set will also feature a new type of reverse holo design for Japan:

As posted before, Shiny Star V will release on November 20th. Each booster pack will come with a guaranteed Pokemon V or VMAX. The set will mostly contain reprints. It will also feature some new Pokemon V and Supporter cards. Judging by the booster pack, Ditto V will be one of the new cards.

The cards from this set could become part of our special set in February or a potential holiday set in 2021 or 2022.

This is the 422nd Charizard card this year…

Update: The “Nessa Set” releasing alongside Shiny Star V has also been revealed! It will contain two booster boxes of Shiny Star V, a deck box, a pack of card sleeves, a coin, and a card storage box — all featuring Nessa!

Thinking about it again I suppose that it has been a while since it released however it’s really upsetting because like hidden fates the prices will skyrocket and make it extremely difficult to complete which is what I and many other would want to do. Plus the prices have risen for hidden fates cards so much that if you are mostly buying loose it makes it even more difficult.

    Biggerer doesn't always mean betterer.

If you like the potential of this set, I don't blame you. But I'm just exhausted at this point. It sounds like others are too, especially with all the scalpers. I've been wanting the TCG to just slow down, and personally I think this would have been more appealing if there were only a select few shiny Pokemon cards, like in Shining Legends. Meanwhile, Pokemon's like:

Maybe the anniversary set will be like generations where it was released throughout the year? Would make sense since it’s so massive and everyone is buying up the shelves?

Ngl, the idea that there are going to be 100+ secret rares in a set sounds like nightmare fuel for collectors who try to complete these sets...

I'm not surprised. At all. This Charizard hype is just too much, and I think the Pokemon company is giving Charizard too much spotlight now. The card looks really nice, but this is the third or fourth set in a row with an ultra rare Charizard of some sort.

I pulled the rainbow Charizard VMAX the other day - it's like they're daring me with trying to get another one XD

'Zard aside, I'd go for the Shiny Decidueye as well, need more ghost archer birb :)

I love the Nessa set; it's basically the same as the Marnie set from Legendary Heartbeat, which was a great option for Americans looking for a cool way to get some Legendary Heartbeat (coming with 2 booster boxes and some cool stuff you can still use with your American cards).

Marnie was obtainable for in the $120 range shipped in the US at the time I got it I believe, which for 2 (japanese-size) booster boxes plus sleeves/box/etc. was quite reasonable. Hopefully Nessa will not be too much more!

Sounds like you're reckoning without the 127 Shiny Pokemon, let alone the Shiny Charizard VMAX, my poor friend...

Yeah, I'm sure that will drive up the price some. I'm just hoping not too much. We'll see. The Marnie box was quite desirable, plus the Legendary Heartbeat set itself was quite desirable, though obviously not Shiny Zard Vmax level.
