Nintendo Reveals BW2 Localizations, World Tournament Competition, Refreshed 3DS

Update (11:15 PM) – Pokemon.com has revealed that the trio’s regular formes will keep their Japanese names – “Incarnate” formes.

Europe’s Nintendo Direct presentation just revealed that Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus’ Sacred Beast formes will now be called their Therian Formes. Additionally, Homika’s English name will be Roxie – quite a fitting name for a Poison-type, guitar-playing Gym Leader (rock n’ roll + toxic).

Earlier, Japan’s Nintendo Direct announced that a BW2 World Tournament Wi-Fi Competition will start on June 29th. We don’t know how this will work yet or what it’s about, but we’ll bring you the latest as soon as we know it!

The Japanese presentation also revealed the refreshed 3DS, the Nintendo 3DS XL. The top screen is 4.88 inches (originally 3.53) and the bottom screen is 4.18 inches (originally 3). It will be released in Japan on July 28th for 18,900 yen (about $236) and in the U.S. on August 19th for $199.99.
