That's 61...I think its safe to assume now regional dex will be more than 200.
My guess is 100 per dex (central, coastal, mountain)

(also the ones from Mewtwo and Sylveon clips, but not sure of these are as safe to assume as ones from trailers for the game itself.Theyre all just as visible as the regular trailers on the official site tho.)

-Cranidos
-Rampardos (Mewtwo clip)

-Shieldon (I'd expect this one too then.)
-Bastiodon

-Shellder
-Cloyster (Mewtwo clip)

-Machop
-Machoke
-Machamp (Mewtwo clip)

-Zangoose (Mewtwo clip)
-Seviper (expected due to zangoose)

-Gligar (Sylveon clip)
-Gliscor

-Sandile
-Krokorok
-Krookodile - Sylveon clip + 3rd trailer attacked by Xerneas

(Fairy showcase
I'm sure the ones they've shown weren't random, otherwise Clefairy would have been shown at least.
It reconfirms two of them we already saw in trailers/art: Ralts line (Kirlia in trailer), Marill-line (city art), so just Jiggly is new here:)
-Igglybuff
-Jigglypuff - Fairy showcase
-Wigglytuff

-Rhyhorn - statue in 3rd trailer outside your house + mentioned to be another ridable Pokémon at e3
-Rhydon
-Rhyperior

-Zorua
-Zoroark - 3rd trailer + 3rd trailer pokemon Amie

-Haxorus - 3rd trailer (fairy advantage showcase)

-Deino
-Zweilous
-Hydreigon - 3rd trailer (fairy advantage showcase)

-Riolu
-Lucario - 3rd trailer (pokemon Amie) & obviously Megaevolution trailer

-Larvitar
-Pupitar
-Tyranitar - 3rd trailer (pokemon Amie)

-Charmander
-Charmeleon
-Charizard - 3rd trailer (which fits with "the source" claiming we get to pick an extra Kanto starter)

-Gastly
-Haunter - short trailer skybattle
-Gengar

-Houndour - short trailer horde & 4th trailer
-Houndoom

-Bagon
-Shelgon
-Salamence - 4th trailer

(suddenly megaevolutions ermergerd)

-Absol - megaevolution trailer

-Mawile - megaevolution trailer

-Mareep
-Flaaffy
-Ampharos - megaevolution trailer

-Kangaskhan - random megaevolution reveal

(playable demos. Crobat seems like very random. But why not give him pokes that will be in the region? Just consider the other two he uses: Dragonite and Chandelure. Both lines already seen in trailers from the beginning)

-Zubat
-Golbat
-Crobat - used by mega-showcase-sycamore

(Kanto starters now all confirmed. Note how charizard was already the only fire starter seen in trailers before this one)

-Bulbasaur - 5th trailer
-Ivysaur
-Venusaur

-Squirtle - 5th trailer
-Wartortle
-Blastoise

------

okay...way too many pseudos. Im not sure anymore if all of these could really be part of the regionaldex, but ones that are already on the list keep showing up in new footage (like Kirlia being in first trailer and then Gardevoir shown as an example of a Fairy-type, or low-level Axew being featured in a horde battle along with Haxorus being shown to be weak to Fairy...)

featured pokemon that are probably not going to be in the regional dex:

-Torchic - event/megaevolution
-Mewtwo - movie star /probably postgame accessible

RE: Pokémon from previous generations available in XY

Found it.

Heres the post from when I updated it the last time lol.
http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-the-regional-pokedex-what-we-know-is-in-it-so-far?pid=2448433#pid2448433

And before anyone comes with a "but trailers could just be random Pokémon to keep new ones secret".

Well first of all, then there is almost nothing to talk about in this anyway. Except for pictures of the pokedex itself, which is Zigzagoon, Pidgey, the end.
It makes perfect sense for at least the main trailers to use pokemon found within regular gameplay.

And secondly, several of the pokemon appearing in these are reconfirming themselves by appearing in multiple bits (trailers, art, as statues in background/car/shirt etc).
Also, when Fairy was revealed, the examples of old pokemon didn't include Clefairy. Clefairy! That alone to me implies that who they showed are natural encounters in Kalos in this case too.

Things like "Event torchic" or "Mewtwo due to movie" are much better guesses for exclusion in such lists.
I seriously doubt the Kalos-dex will have more than 2 sets of starters in THE REGIONAL DEX.

I'm confident at least the main trailers are all showing Kalos-native old-gen pokemon.
And probably anything on the official site that doesn't deal with something outside XY (like Pokémon bank, events etc)

If we're not talking regional-dex (since the thread name implies old pokemon in general)... then I don't see the point, as post-game is always filled with foreign stuff to the point where more than 50% of ALL pokemon are available in one way or another. Then pretty much any pokemon will be in XY.

RE: Pokémon from previous generations available in XY

Alright, I'll have this thing merged. Just remember that me and Mit have missed out some, so combining the posts would be better.
Also, can you do it in dex order?

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

What about flygon? He was shown in a trailer in a pc box I think.

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

I honestly don't think they would include that many previous gen pokemon in the regional dex. That list is far too long.

You say that because some pokemon appear in artwork and architecture, it means they will be in the regional dex. I don't think this is a very good justification. Recently, GF has been showing more interconnectedness between the regions. In BW, even though Pikachu was not part of the regional Pokedex, there was still an inflatable one in Nimbasa City. I think this is just taking the next step forward. Do you really think Serperior will be in the regional dex, just because there was one pictured on a golden gate in part of the region? I would be very surprised if this was the case.

As far as pokemon shown in battles in the trailers go, I don't think that means anything. They could just be showing old pokemon so that they have more variety in the pokemon shown in the trailers. Seeing just the starters in all of the first trailers until more pokemon are revealed would get boring. So, why not show the newly rendered model of Golurk? Awesome!

Personally, I hope we see very few old generation pokemon in the Kalos region, at least for the main storyline part of the game. It's a new region, and I want to see new pokemon! I loved what they did with BW, even though they had to basically reinvent several old pokemon to replace old standards (Roggenrola for Geodude, for example. Did we really need another high defense, trade evolution, rock type pokemon? No. But we did for BW, because what would be in the caves if not Geodude?)

My gosh man that's alot. Personally I loved BW for there being NO old pokemon sadly that didn't go well because people never want to use new pokemon.... Anyways keep updating this. :D

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

Looks more like we'll get a Gen 4 remake, considering there's only 2 lines confirmed.

Possible but we had all the johto pokemon before the remakes. Also where is sudowoodo pretty sure we saw him.

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

I can't help but feel like they might do with Gen 6 what they did with Gen 2; make most, if not all Pokemon available in the wild, minus the rarest legendaries and gift Pokemon. Considering the regional Pokedex is so large it has to be divided into three parts, it's certainly seems likely Gen 6 will feature the greatest variety of wild Pokemon found in any Pokemon game.

could be.

My bet is still on 100+100+100 though.
With a third of each being new pokemon.

But the BW2 dex had 301 Pokémon in it and that was all in one section, so I think the dex will be 150+150+150.

PLus 100+100+100 would make there 99 new pokemon. Not to mention i see this as a region with over 120 pokemon. (aka 40 per dex)

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

I think many of the Pokemon shown in battle clips are random, saying a Pokemon is in the Kalos Dex because it was shown in this 2 second battle clip isn't good enough reasoning since those may just be tech demos. The ones that have been shown off explicitly as catchable (example: Pikachu in the first trailer, Octillery in Smash), demonstrations of new mechanics, or in overworld references have a much better shot.

RE: The Regional Pokedex: Pokémon from previous generations in Kalos

its official trailers and clips on the site promoting the games in an ok-amount spoilerish (official) manner.

Why would they choose completely random and unrelated/post-game native pokemon to showcase it?
If it was a clip to show how the 3d looks, like the gen-battle they did at the VGC, then the pokemon chosen are irrelevant to the games story.

I mean, I can see how one could argue that the separate short clips shouldn't be included, ie all those that are a few seconds to showcase a single pokemon or such. But as for the proper trailers, using pokemon you can't use on the journey is like showing the character running around a beta-room and featuring post-game stuff.

Besides..what would be left without these anyway? Besides Pikachu and Octillery?
