Why is fighting strong against THREE types?

Simple question,

The majority of White{C}, Yellow{L}, and Black{D} are weak to Brown{F}.

It seems mismatched. Maybe it only seems that way because Donphan hits 1/3 of the colors for 120 damage for 1 NRG.

As a follow-up, Green{G} and Silver{M} are universally weak to Red{R}. But Brown{F} and Blue{W} have 3 and 2 Separate weaknesses, respectively, essentially making it much harder to make Green{G} or Silver{M} decks that aren't steamrolled by one type.

I know there are exceptions: Vileplume, Yanmega, Rotom, Dragonite, Mandibuzz.

But still, could things be more balanced?

{C} = Normal, Flying, and Dragon types
{L} = Electric only
{G} = Grass and Bug types (Poison used to be here)
{F} = Fighting, Ground, and Rock
{P} = Psychic, Poison, and Ghost
{W} = Water and Ice
{R} = Fire
{D} = Dark
{M} = Steel

...That's why.

Maybe it only seems that way because Donphan hits 1/3 of the colors for 120 damage for 1 NRG.
It's Donphan's fault for existing.

i always think the same thing. I think its completly over powered and un-cool- I think weekness should not be 2x becuase if you are vsing a deck that you are week to it makes it almost impossible to win....I think weekness should be +20 or +30

agreed. It's doesn't give you chance to make a comback... Which is why I try to have a backup in my decks due to the x2 weakness...

At the root of it - Because the TCG is made to make more money of the games.

With type advantages being an aspect of the games that's heavily marketed as one of the strategies, they made sure to carry it over to the TCG. Then with them trying to make it like existing popular TCGs, they merged the types as best as they could while trying to stay close to the originals, as I don't see a 15 colour game working out.

Then with Donphan, it's random luck with how the type merging turned out and a case of throwing whatever kind of moves would be "cool" onto the super rares so they become wanted.

in the EX series, some dark-types had a {G} weakness to reflect that the dark type was also weak to bug... they could do the same, so there woudn't be so many cards weak against {F}

Black being weak to Green and Brown would be nice. It would at least vary things a little bit more.
