One targets Trainers while the other targets Trainers and Stadiums. Does this mean a player can still use a Stadium with "Keystone Seal"? Does it mean that players can use Supporters with "Keystone Seal" & "Deafen", since Supporters aren't mentioned? Because of that, what happens to the older cards, such as Vileplume (TR)? Does its Power still target Trainers, Supporters, and Stadiums? Also, if "No Trainer cards can be played", what happens to the ones that are already in play? (Tools, Technical Machines, Stadiums, etc.)

Spiritomb's poke-body "Keystone Seal" does not block supporters or stadium cards from being played.

Deafen doesn't mention Supporters so you can still use them.

I believe that since Supporters didn't exist back then, that when a card said it blocks trainers, Supporters would be included. If another Professor can verify that it would be great.

If no trainer cards can be played, it doesn't do anything to the ones that are in play.~Mark

Pre-DP: The term trainer(s) refer to supporters, stadiums, and trainers.
EX- era only: The term trainer(s) refer to stadiums and trainers.
DP-on format: The term trainer refer to only trainers card; excludes supporters and stadiums.

Actually, during the EX era, the supporter was a type of trainer. There were certain powers that said "your opponent can't play Trainer cards (excluding Supporters) etc." I would assume anything pre-DP that involves 'trainers' refers to T/S/S, but since trainers was the only subdivision in days before Hoenn (edit: I forgot Stadiums were introduced in the Gym sets also), I'm not exactly sure how to answer that. I'd assume that trainers regards T/S/S as well.

Anything Pre-DP stating "Trainers" also includes Stadiums and Supporters. Anything Post-DP stating "Trainers" means "TRAINERS" only.
