So there's a leak floating around now that SM is doing away with gyms altogether (you can find the leak here take it with a grain of salt because it's not confirmed). I'm not quite sure if I buy that because Game Freak considers it part of the core formula, but it seems like they're going to be doing something different with gyms this gen. There's no clear gym locations on the map and they've been eerily silent on gym leaders so far whereas in most games they'd have revealed one or two gym leaders by now. What could they be doing to shake up the gym formula this gen?
