SUPER MARIO RPG FINALLY CAME OUT TODAY TO THE AMERICAN VIRTUAL CONSOLE AS THE 250 TITLE ON THE VC.

Only thing is i'm not sure if i'ld want to get because i'm not much of an RPG fan. So i'm asking you people if the game is for anybody because i might just go to my local game store to pick up some points and i'll also need to know what to use my remaining points 1200 on.

Sweet. For real. If I hadn't already beaten the daylights out of this game I would buy it for sure. I still might, just to be cool. It's a great game, good for many hours of Marioy fun, not to mention there's a cameo boss battle as well as a brief appearance by Samus ;o

Finally this game comes out. I'll be downloading it sometime, but I'm just happy it's finally out.

dmaster out.

i've also heard that there are appearances of link and donkey kong...speaking of donkey kong i think i'ld use the remaining points(once i get some) on donkey kong country(i already have 2 and 3 on the GBA).

Samus actually also has a couple of cameo appearances as well, as PMJ mentioned, but she is more difficult to find. There is also an optional Final Fantasy-themed boss that you can fight that is pretty difficult.

Good to see this released on the Virtual Console. People have been requesting a re-make of this game for a very long time. 800 Wii Points is a steal for this game.

I have had the SNES version of this game for at least 11 years or so, but I went ahead and downloaded the Virtual Console version anyway. My cartridge is having a problem where random save files are getting deleted, so this will allow me to use more save files and keep my saves safe.

BTW, has anyone successfully done 100 Super Jumps? I've only done it once, and it was very difficult to pull off. The Super Suit is a really awesome item, too.

okay so i finally got the wii point card and i downloaded the two games(super mario RPG, and Donkey Kong Country)
I'll start off with Donkey Kong Counrty. I love this game, i thought i once had this game once before on the GB(not the GBA) but i was mistaken i think. now i get to experience a whole new game not just reexperience one. yeah!
And now for Super Mario RPG. I haven't gotten to far but i've already seen enough...and i want to see more. I love the puns, the gameplay(which is very similar to paper mario which is a game i also love), and of course the story line...like who knew that mallow was a frog he looks more like a cloud but i sorta think something about him is going to change soon.

I finally managed to get 100 Super Jumps again, this time on the Wii. I have some attachments showing what happens when you get 100 Super Jumps. I also have a picture showing just how much the Attack Scarf and Super Suit combined boost stats.

I fought a Rat Fink in Kero Sewers when I landed the 100 Super Jumps. A Rat Fink that appears in the lower right corner of the screen is the best one to try for. The trick is to hit the button exactly when Mario lands on the Rat Fink. There is very brief pause that occurs between the time that Mario lands on the enemy and the stars shoot off. That seems to be the ideal time to press the button. Since it takes a split second to press the button so that the game recognizes it, it takes a lot of practice timing this.

On top of that, the stars hurt the eyes when you are trying to time Mario's jumps. I actually wore sunglasses to minimize the brightness of the stars so I could focus on Mario's jumps. This requires an enormous amount of concentration on the game, as well as regulation of breathing and blinking.

Getting the Attack Scarf at 30 Super Jumps should be the first priority. Once you can consistently get the Attack Scarf each time you play through the game, then it is time to practice trying to get the Super Suit with 100 Super Jumps. According to the Super Jumping FAQ at GameFAQs (which is an excellent read, by the way), the Super Suit not only provides a huge stat increase, it also has the effects of the Safety Ring, blocking OHKO attacks and elemental damage.

EDIT: I just thought of something that makes this accomplishment less meaningful for the VC version of Super Mario RPG. When you get to 30 jumps or so, you can just hit the home button on the Classic Controller or the Wiimote to force the game to pause. Then you can just wait until you get your breath back, take a break, and come back to continue your jumping streak. It takes the endurance factor out of the equation somewhat, and reduces it down to timing. So if you REALLY want that Attack Scarf and / or Super Suit, you can just do that, and it will make it a lot easier to accomplish. In some respects, this could be considered cheating, though, as it makes it less significant of an accomplishment.

I just tried it with hitting the home button after every 20 jumps, and I got to 100 jumps again. This is definitely abusing the game.

^lol you put on sun glasses when you played a game

Just a question about the super jumps: will the noise always change because always after the first few the noise turns into a 1-up sound.

also i now know the truth about malow...pretty obvious though.

W00t , this game officially rocks.
I used to play this game , and I loved how it was different from average mario games and it had a heck of great new characters.
If I get a Wii soon , I am going to try to get this VC game. (or get a used SNES and a copy of the game)

I have heard that it is an awesome game. I always wanted to try it but never got to.:)

I got my hands on the game last week and finished it up a few days ago. I pretty much did everything in the game besides the 100 jumps and a few hidden boxes. The 100 jumps is incredibly hard, expecially for people like me that could rarely time a block throughout the entire game.
