Hello Pokebeach members I want to build this deck for battle roads but I just dont know what the right list is. I dont have any Terrakion nor will I get any so dont say that. Any help is gladly appreciated. Thanks. :p
Pokemon (18)
3- Emolga
3- Stunfisk
4-1-4 Empoleon
3- Mew EX
Trainers (31)
4- N
4- Cheren
4- Juniper
3- Max Potion
4- Pokemon Catcher
3- Switch
4- Pokemon Communication
4- Rare Candy
1- Super Rod
Energy (11)
4- Blend water fighting lightning steel
4- Water
3- Fighting
Strategy- Set up Empoleon very quickly with Emolga Rare Candy etc. Use Stunfisk to counter Empoleons weakness. Mew is to ko Mewtwo. Use a bunch of diving draws to get a bunch of Empoleons in play.

I would suggest a 2nd Prinplup and 2nd Super Rod. I prefer Ultra Balls over Communication but I've seen both work to good effect. Not sure what to have you remove for that though. Maybe a Stunfisk and a Mew.

I also like having Level Balls to search out Piplup and Prinplup when needed. Again though, not sure what to remove with your list so tight.

Alright I'll do this
-3 communication
-1 mew ex
+ 1 super rod
+3 ultra ball
I don't really see a need for another priplup and I don't really need lv ball because of emolga. Thanks for the advice :p

I didn't see the need for the second Prinplup until I made the change in between two Battle Roads. I was 2-4 at the first and 4-2 at the second. The second Prinplup really helps getting Empoleons set up in the mid to late game.

As for the level balls, I use Emolga as well. Often I use level ball to go search for the Emolga that wasn't in my opening hand. A set of Level balls essentially doubles your chance for getting an Emolga turn one. Just something to consider as you are testing your build.

First off Congratulations at battle roads and as far as Level Ball what do you think I should take out.

Thanks for the congrats. As for your deck, its a tough call. It is a pretty tight list as is. I'd suggest this as a starting point.

Pokemon (16)
3- Emolga
2- Stunfisk
4-1-4 Empoleon
2- Mew EX
Trainers (33)
4- N
4- Cheren
3- Juniper
3- Max Potion
4- Pokemon Catcher
3- Switch
3- Level Ball
3- Ultra Ball
4- Rare Candy
2- Super Rod
Energy (11)
4- Blend water fighting lightning steel
4- Water
3- Fighting

Taking away the Juniper might seem odd but with Diving Draw you don't need as much draw support. Try it and see how it works for you. You could always put it back and go with 2 Level Balls. Good luck.

No I haven't had a problem with Garbodor. Empoleon can get by without Diving Draw if it has too and with decently full benches, a catcher KO against Garbodor is easy to do. Also, quite a few Garbodor decks run Groudon EX and that is a gift to an Empoleon deck.

Narrow down your Mew. They have 20 less HP than Empoleon and will be catcher bait. If you're only teching in Mew to counter Mewtwo, you shouldn't run 3, I'd say just 1 or at max 2. Add more Stunfisk so you can be more likely to start with it, as the usual point in this deck is to donk Tynamo with it, and with the metagame being a lot of RayEels, you'll definitely need to go in that direction. I play Empoleon but mine also has a few Terrakion NVI (I know, you said you don't have/want one.) and a lone Sigilyph in it. The Sigilyph really has helped me a lot as far as stalling against EX's to get Empoleon into play when my luck runs dry. Maybe consider that?

Also, if you test this and find that Diving Draw and Emolga do not help enough, I'd suggest throwing in some Level Balls to fill your bench with Piplup. It is really important to keep a full bench with this deck. Another list to consider as an alternative:

4-3-4 Empoleon
2 Emolga
4 Stunfisk
1 Mew Ex
1 Sigilyph
19

4 N
4 Cheren
2 Random Receiver
4 Rare Candy
4 Pokemon Catcher
2 Pokemon Communication
2 Level Ball
2 Tool Scrapper
2 Max Potion
2 Super Rod
2 Switch
30

3 WLFM
6 Water Energy
2 Fighting Energy
11

A guy played a list similar to this at my Battle Roads and came in 5th.

That some pretty legit advice. Like I said I don't have any "good" terrakion but I will prob drop a mew for a stunfisk. How many psychic/prism energy do you use in your deck? Are there any other good empoleon varients other than terrakion and stunfisk?

None, actually. I never really attack with Sigilyph. I just get on the bench and usually people will focus on trying to catcher out Piplups....so Sigilyph stays dormant on the bench most of the time, and then if some promotes an EX to active (likely cases: Raikou, Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, etc) I switch to Sigilyph and try to get out as many Empoleons as possible before they top deck a switch or retreat and then attach a basic energy and retreat, knowing I can use a Super Rod to get that said energy back later, should I need it.

I don't run Mew in my deck at all anymore because of the catcher problem, when I ran Mew I ran 2 Prism, though if you're wanting to Attack Command or X Ball with a Mew, WLFM and basic energy should be sufficient.

(Also, consider what types are in the WLFM Blend.... Water...Lightning...Fighting...Metal.... all dominant types in the metagame right now.)

I'll try out sigilyph and see how it goes. Thanks for the nice ideas.
