Rivalry Versus Illusion

Pardon my not finding a more appropriate place, though I did search.

The general question is:
If Zoroark takes the place of a Male Pokemon, considering Zoroark is Female, and my Pokemon with Rivalry is Male, do I get the attack boost?

This ought to be in the Simple Questions thread. Edit: My apologies. I've never dealt with the scenario myself and couldn't find any information on it.

Actually, I think it may be the other way around. I read an article on smogon about how when using Zoroark, you have to avoid Pokemon with abilities that will give you away. For instance, a Zoroark impersonating a clear body metagross will still lose attack to intimidate. That said, I believe illusion is a purely aesthetic change. All other game mechanics remain the same.

Illusion is purely aesthetic. You copy absolutely nothing about the Pokemon you're impersonating as, other than its appearance.

You can have a male Zoroark masquerade as a female Pokemon and still be immune to a male Pokemon's Attract. Rivalry applies much the same way.
