Ruling Rescue Scarf

If an evolved Pokémon has a Rescue Scarf attached and it is knocked out by an attack, will the Pokémon plus the pre-evolutions under it all return to its owner's hand or just the top-most evolution card?

Pre-evolutions underneath the Evolved Pokemon also return to the hand. All other cards go to the discard pile.

Q: If a Pokemon that has Rescue Scarf attached to it is knocked out, which card(s) go back into my hand?
A: All Pokemon stages go back into your hand. Everything else attached is discarded.
