Ruling Rescue Energy(one quick question)

I read the ruling that said i'd get to choose if it went to hand/lost zone but i have a question now-

If Player A's pokemon is knocked out while having a rescue energy attached by Player B's pokemon that KO'd it with an attack that places damage counters(such as Shadow room) does rescue energy have the cards go to the discard or to to the hand?

The answer is no. Rescue Energy only triggers when the Pokemon is Knocked Out by damage. The Pokemon is discarded.
