Pokemon: Trainer’s Quest
Chapter One: A new trainer of the Gildor

Once, there was a world where humans lived alongside these special creatures known as Pokemon. These creatures come in many forms and have certain powers that are divided into various elements. For example, some pokemon can lift things with thier mind, some can shoot fire, ect. Certain humans, known as Pokemon Trainers, raise Pokemon from the wild to battle other trainer’s Pokemon. The main goal for a trainer is to gather all the badges in the person’s region and defeat the League Master. This requires a long journey filled with many adventures.

One trainer was Josh Terron, a young boy with short black hair that grew up in Isen Town. Isen Town was a small town in the Gildor Region near the sea. Josh grew up with his mother and his older brother, James, who‘left a week before Josh to start on his Pokemon quest.

Today was Josh’s 15th birthday and he was old enough to become a trainer himself. This is where our story begins.

“Professor Malvron, I am here to receive my Starter,” shouted the young boy who just burst into the Pokemon Registry Center, a small building in the center of Isen Town. The boy had a black outfit on with a gold vest.

“Well, Josh, you came,” said the man at one of the desks near the back of the lobby. This man was middle-aged with brown hair that grew into a beard. The desk had a door behind it. “Lets go then.”

Josh followed the man through the door and arrived at an empty room with only one thing in it.. It was a computer with a slot machine connected to it and a card slot.

“This is the Pokemon League Registry Machine,” said Malvron. “This is how all trainers in Gildor are registered to compete in the gym challenge. It also provides the first Pokemon to a new trainer. Now, lets see what today’s choices are.” With that, the man went to the computer and turned it on. He typed something up and a screen showed up. The screen showed a red, blue, and green section. then some words showed u on the screen.

“Ah, so the choices today are among the following,” said the professor. “From the Grass Type, Its Cacnea, the cactus Pokemon, with the starting moves of Tackle and Drain Punch. From the fire type is Houndour, the Hound Pokemon, with the starting moves of Quick Attack and Ember. And from the Water type is Corphish, the Crab Pokemon, with the starting moves of Harden and Water Blast. Now, which Pokemon shall you choose.”

“Hmm, I will choose Houndour,” said Josh. Malvron nodded and clicked on the red section. There was a hum and a miniature Pokeball dropped out. A Pokeball is a red and white ball that holds a Pokemon. The red is separated by the white by a black line that leads to a white button in the front. \

“Hello Professor,” came someone from behind. A young man came up from behind. He had a blue shirt on with brown pants.

“You must be Malix,” said the professor. “Josh, meet Malix Toranda. He is from a family of Pokemon League Champions. You must be here for registering as well.”

“Of course I am,” said Malix. “Now, hand me a Corphish and a Trainer Card so I can start.”

“Alright, here you go.” said Malvron. Another Pokeball came down and the two trainers picked up their Pokemon. Just then, Malix looked at Josh with a smirk on his face.

“Hey, Josh, you wanna battle me?” he asked.

“Sure, lets do it.” said Josh. “But we can’t do it here.”

“Then meet me in Kinleaf Forest.” said Malix. “It will give you and I some practice.”

“You got it,” Then the two turned to the Professor, who now had two cards in his hand.

“We are almost finished,” explained Malvron. “These are your Trainer Cards. They are proof that you are a registered Pokemon Trainer. The front displays your info and the back is where your gym badges are displayed. The first gym is in Kinleaf Town. Now, you are ready.”

“Alright, Later, Josh,” said Malix as he left. Josh placed the card in his pocket and put the Pokeball in his jacket pocket.

Josh waited until Malix was gone and then placed the Pokeball inside one of the pockets sewn into the inside of his jacket. Afterwards, he slipped his trainer card in his pants pocket and headed out of the door.

“Hold on, Josh,” came the professor out of nowhere. He pulled out a Pokeball from his pocket and handed it to Josh.

“What is this for?” asked Josh.

“Its an empty Pokeball,” explained Malvron. “Malix missed out being he was in a rush to go somewhere. You see, every trainer needs a good Pokemon team. This Pokeball should help you out. To catch a Pokemon you must first-“

“I know, weaken it,” Josh interrupted. He slipped the empty Pokeball in his left pocket opposite the trainer card. “That shouldn’t be a problem. Not with Houndour with me. Alright, see ya.”

With that, Josh left the lab and followed a path that lead to the vast forest surrounded the town. He saw people battling Pokemon as he approached the forest. He headed to a small area of grass nearby and pulled the Pokeball out.

‘Now is the perfect place to introduce ourselves,” said Josh. He pressed the white button and the ball grew to the size of a baseball. Then Josh threw the ball up in the air and shouted, “Houndour, Come out.”

The ball then grew larger as i opened up and a beam of light shot out. It hit the ground and took the form of a small dog. The light faded and the ball closed back up and fell to the ground. A small black hound was now standing in front of Josh. It was all black except for the orange stomach and the gray armored plate on its head. Houndour then turned to Josh and tackled him.

Josh fell backwards and the puppy was nuzzling him.

“Enough,” said Josh. At that, Houndour stopped and went back in front of Josh. He found a stick and bit on it. The stick burned in his mouth. “Houndour, My name is Josh Terron. I am your new trainer.”

However, Houndour wasn’t paying attention. He was busy playing with the stick. All of a sudden a black and white bird swooped down and hit Houndour. The bird was small, but still managed to knock the puppy to the side.

“Yes, this might be the chance I was looking for,” said Josh. “Lets get to battling, Houndour. Attack Starly with Quick Attack.”

Houndour got up and started charging at Starly, his eyes blazing with anger. His movement picked up speed and he rammed Starly with his head. However, Starly managed to fly upwards just in time, making Houndour fall over. Then Houndour got back up and fire was forming in his mouth.

“That’s it,” said Josh, “Ember!” Houndour looked at Starly and opened its mouth. Several fireballs came out and began hitting Starly’s wings. Starly was hit and came crashing down.

“Now, lets catch Starly,” he pulled out the empty Pokeball and made it enlarge. Then he threw it and the Starly. It hit Starly’s wing and opened up halfway. Starly turned red and the ball closed up over him. Then the bal fell to the ground where Starly was and the center white button was red. It stayed red for a couple seconds and then it returned to white. The ball shrunk back to travel size and Josh picked both balls up. He placed one in his left jacket pocket and the other in his right pocket. Houndour then went back to playing.

“It looks like there will be a good battle after all,” came a familar voice. Josh turned around to see Malix come from out of the trees. He had on a differnt set of clothes, which included a black leather jacket and black pants.

“What do you mean by that?” asked Josh. Houndour then got up and faced Malix, sensing a battle was about to begin. He gave a small growl.

“I just caught a new Pokemon as well,” said Malix. “And it seems you found a good battle site. So are you ready now?”

“Ummm, sure,” said Josh, “It seems Houndour is ready. So its going to be a two Pokemon match. Okay.”

“Very wellI shall go first,” said Malix, retrieving a Pokeball from his pocket. “Corphish, Prepare for battle.” He pointed the now-enlargened pokeball at the ground and a red crab came out. He was taller than Houndour slightly with large pincers.

“Houndour, use Quick Attack,” ordered Josh. Houndour started dashing at Corphish and white lines went behind him. He headbutted Corphish, but Corphish didn’t move. Houndour collapsed to the ground.

“Corphish, Crab Hammer him away,” said Malix. Corphish raised one of his pincers and it glowed white. He then slapped the puppy back to Josh’s side. Houndour laid on the ground for a while’ but slowly got up. He looked pretty beat up, but still had some fight in him. He then raised his paw and let out a howl. He slammed it back down and fire formed around his body.

“Could that be?” wondered Josh. “Houndour, Flame Charge.”

“Harden,” said Malix. Houndour then began running at Corphish at top speed, but Corphish stood his guard. His front body then turned silver as Houndour crashed into it. Then Houndour collopsed to the ground once more, this time unconscious.

“Hmph, pathetic,” said Malix. “Corphish, return.” Malix pointed the Pokeball at Corphish and the ball opened up. Corphis dissolved into red energy that went into the ball and the ball closed. Once it closed, the ball shrunk and Malix put the ball back. Then Malix turned around and began to walk off as Josh rushed to Houndour’s side.

“Hey, come back,” said Josh. “I still have Starly.”

“What would Starly do against my Ivyrial,” said Malix, still walking around until he disappeared into the forest.

Chapter Two

“Not a bad battle,” came someone from behind. Josh got up and saw a young man with a white vest and a blue outfit.

“Who might you be?” asked Josh.

“Nathen Vintar, Pokemon Trainer and Assistant to a Pokemon Professor,” answered the young man. “Your Houndour sure fought hard. Here, I will help him heal.” Nathen knelt down beside Houndour and opened up a side pouch that Josh hadn’t noticed. He retrieved a spray bottle and began spraying all over Houndour.

The puppy slowly opened his eyes and got back on his feet. Nathen got back up and had a smile on his face.

“There, good as new,” said Nathen. “That was a fierce battle. That was the first time I seen a Houndour learn Flame Charge so early. You know, I could help you out.”

“What do you mean?” Nathen smiled.

“I have a secret area where I personally train my Pokemon in the forest,” answered Nathen. “If you want, I will take you there so you may train Houndour.”

“Sounds good,” said Josh. “How about it, Houndour?”

Hounddour began wagging his tail and make soft growls.

“It looks like Hondour agrees,” said Nathen. “Follow me.”

Josh and Houndour followed Nahen into the forest and eventually they ended up at a tall flallen over oak tree that blocked the path. Just then, a black ninja with red eyes jumped over the log and from its armss came two steel claws.

“Relax, Rogetta, this is Josh,” said Nathen. “Josh, meet Rogetta. He is the personal Pokemon that is responsible for the training here.”

Rogetta looked strange and then sheathed the claws. Then he jumped back over the log and dirt flew up in the air. Eventually, the ground below then capsized and they ended up in a deep hole dug by Rogetta. Josh picked up Houndour and the four of them then followed the hole until they arriived at a lage clearing with an oak tree sitting in the center. There were broken stones and branches as evidence of intense training. Houndour leaped out of Josh,s hand and began crunching on one of the twigs.

“Rogetta, Shadow Dash, no claws,” said Nathen. Rogetta then moved with deadly speed and disappeared into the air. Houndour was hit by an invisable punch and flew back to one of the broken stones. Then Rogetta reappeared where Houndour was standing.

“Houndour, stay strong.” said Josh. Houndour stood up and shook off the dirt.

“Looks like your Houndour needs a lot of work,” said Nathen. “How about working with a weaker opponent. Come out, Cacturne.”

Nathen retrieved a Pokeball out of his pouch and released a green human-cactus hybrid. He wore a green straw hat and covered in small spikes.

So, Josh began practicing with Cacturne until sundown. The Flame Charge technique was mastered along with Ember and Quick Attack. Soon the sky began dark and both Pokemon were being tired out. So, Josh decied to head to bed nd Houndour slept beside him. Nathen aslo rested with Rogetta and Cacturne.

The next morning, Josh woke uo early and Houndour wasn’t next to him. Frantic, Josh woke Nathen up. Both of his Pokemon woke up as well.

“Have you seen Houndour?” asked Josh.

“No, I thought he was sleeping next to you.” answered Nathen getting up. They began searching and still couldn’t find him. Just then, Josh saw a larger black hound sleeping by the oak tree. It had silverhorns instead of a skull helmet and a long spaded tail. There were silver arcs down his back and arund his neck..

“Hold on,” said Josh. “Do you have a Houndoom on your team?”

“No,” the other answered.

“Then that means,” exlaimed Josh. “That Houndour evolved last night.”

“He did,” said Nathen. “Then that means he can now learn my Rogetta’s Shadow Dash. He is now a Dark/Fire Hybrid.”

“Awesome,” said Josh. “But we should let him rest. Instead, lets train my other Pokemon. Starly, Come out.” Josh released Starly from its Pokeball. It was chirping happily and flying through the air.

“Cacturne, Pin Missile.” Cacturne aimed one of its hands at Starly and small spikes began flying towards the bird.

“Starly, Quick Attack now.” said Josh. Starly gave a chirp and began flying down towrds Cacturne, dodging the spikes and pecked the cactus, which fell down, instantly, unconsious.

“Wow, that Starly does pack some power,” said Nathen. Suddenly, Houndoom woke up and began walking over to Josh. Josh petted him and Houndoom gave a amll growl deep in his throat.

“I am so glad you evolved,” said Josh. “So, do you think you are strong enough to take on Nathen and win?”

Houndoom gave another growl and turned around. He crouched low to the ground and opened up hiw mouth. Flames shot out and vanished before touching the ground.

“So, Nathen,” said Josh. “What if you and I have a two on two Pokemon battle. My Houndoom and Starly against your Cacturne and Rogetta.”

“There is a slim chance you will win if thats going to happen,” said Nathen. “But a challenge is a challenge, so I must accept. Bring in on.” Cacturne stood up and Rogetta unsheathed his claws.

“I will go first,” said Josh. “Houndoom and Starly, Quick Attack. Both aimed at Cacturne.” The two Pokemon took off and began dashing at Cacturne.

“Rogetta, get in front and use Block.”Rogetta did so and crouched down. His blades formed an X and turned red.

“Thats it,” said Josh. “Houndoom, Switch to Flame Charge. Starly, keep doing Quick Attack.” Houndoom then coated hs body with flames and began moving faster. Starly reached Rogetta first and then jabbed him from behind. Rogetta gasped and hit the gound. Houndoom continud moving and ran over Rogetta, slamming Cacturne into a tree. Houndour stopped and opened up his mouth. Flames began forming at Houndour’s mouth and he aimed it at Cacturne. The flames blasted out of his mouth and caught Cacturne by surprise. Smoke rose in the air. When the smoke cleared, Cacturne was laying on the ground, unconscious with a couple of twigs on fire.

“Yes, we did it,” said Josh.

“Indeed you did,” said Nathen, “but its not over yet. Rogetta, Iron Fist.”

Rogetta got to its feet and began chraging at Houndoom, who was standing, panting.

Starly spotted it and dived at Rogetta. It began spinning until it make a tornado around it. Then it crashd down on Rogetta. Rogetta hit the ground and Starly ent back into the air.

“Nice Cyclone Dive.” said Nathen. Just then, Houndoom turned around, now finished rechraging.

“It is over,” said Josh. “Houndoom, Flamethrower at Starly while Starly does, Cyclone Dive.” Houndoom opened his mouth and blasted Starly with an enormous fire blast as Starly began spinning. Starly formed a flaming tornado that hit Rogetta in the back. Rogetta fell forward and landing on top of Cacturne.

“What!!!!” exclaimed Nathen, grabbing his hair. “Thats impossibe. He-Roget-It can’t be. You beat both of my Pokemon. And learned some moves as well.”

“Nice Job, you two.” Josh pulled out the two Pokeballs and returned Houndoom and Starly. Natehn returned his Pokemon as well.

“Well, now you might be a chance for Flora now,” said Nathen.

“Who’s Flora?” asked Josh.

“You know, the Kinleaf Town gym Leader,” said Nathen. “You need to collect the Flower Badge in order to be League Champion.”

“Oh, I forgot,” said Josh, “Better get a move on then. See ya.”

“I am coming with you,” said Nathen. “I want to travel alongside you and help you out. I mean if you want me to.”

“Defintately,” said Josh.

The two new companions then left the treaining area and continued down another path. This one led to a small clearing with wooden houses everywhere . There was a white house near the end of the cleaing with a large fence around it. There waas a sign that read: “Pokemon Battle Garden.” above the white house’s door.

“It looks like we made it to Kinleaf.” said Josh, running towards the house.

Chapter Three

“I m here to challenge Flora,” exclaimed Josh as he entered the Battle Garden. The lobby was quiet except for one trainer

“Well, so are we,” said the trainer, a young girl with a sky blue outfit on. The only thing not blue was the yellow backpack she carried. “You need to wait your turn. Flora’s Battle Garden is full right now. Check up there.” The trainer pointed to a television which showed a trainer battling a young girl in a blue shirt and a white skirt. She had a Cacturne out and the trainer, who was in complete black had a Corphish out. Josh took a closer look and saw that it was Malix.

“The guy calls himself Malix,” said the trainer. “Oh, yeah. My name is Maria. Maria Tevian. You are?”

“Josh Terron,” said Josh. “I know that guy. I battled him before.”

“Really who won?” asked Maria. Just then, a siren came and the door to the battle garden opened. Malix walked out and stepped past Josh, not noticing him.

“Next Challenger:Maria Tevian from Kinleaf Town,” came a voice over the speaker.

“Well, wish me luck.” said Maria, heading towards the garden. Josh took a seat at one of the sofas and watched the televion.

“It looks like Maria is ready,” came the speaker. “I wonder was she has in mind when it comes to Pokemon. Flora’s next choice is, lets see, a Septile. Can Maria hope to win against the all-powerful Septile. Lets find out.” Then the speaker turned off and the battle began.

Maria released a Ivyrial on her side and Flora released a Septile. Ivyrial was a green bird with seed at the tip of its wings. Septile looked like a lizard standing up on two legs with a leafy tail and two leaf-shaped blades on its elbows.

Maria started the battle with a Razeor Leaf attack, in which Ivyrial began making slashing motions with its wings. With each slash, a leaf shot out and hit Septile.

Septile countered with a Leaf Blade, in which the elbow blades sharpen and Septile came at the bird, which flew up in the air and opened its beak. The bird began glowing and changing form. The seeds became small flowers and it grew larger. Ivyril, now a Florarial, opened its beak and shot a beam of solar energy at Septile. Septile was caught in the blast and slammed against the fence, knocked unconscios.

Maria returned Florarial and the siren rang again. Maria stepped out, a big smile on er face.

“I did it,” said Maria. Flora walked to the door and handed Maria her Trainer Card from out of a card machine. On the back of the card was a picture of a flower. Then Flora noticed Josh and walked over to him.

“Excuse me, are you here for a battle?” asked Flora. “if so, please come with me.”

“Alright, here’s my card,” said Josh. He reached for his card and pulled it out. Flora took it and inserted it into the card machine.

“Next Challenger: Joshua Terron from Isen Town,” came the voice on the speaker once more.

“Joshua, come with me.” said Flora as she went back into the Garden. Josh followed her until they reached a platform. Flora stood on the platform near the fence and Josh went to the field opposite of her. He drew a Pokeball and released Starly to the field.

“A Starly,” said Flora. “Then let it be a battle in the sky. Ivyrial, Come out now.” Flora released from her side another Ivyrial. This one was darker green.

“Starly, use Quick Attack,” said Josh.

“Fly out of the way and use Peck.” Starly dashed at Ivyrial but Ivyrial moved to the side and jabbed Starly’s side with its beak. Starly lost balance but regained it.

“Ivyrial, use Poison Jab,” Ivyrial’s beak turned purple and it flew straight at Starly. Starly looked in horror as it was jabbed once more. This time he came crashing down and made a hole in the ground. Dust cloaked the bird but faded away. Starly was gone.

“What, where did it go?” asked Floa. “Ivyrail, find him and use Leaf-“ Flora couldn’t finish because something hit Ivyrial from behind. It was Starly. Its wings were glowing white and returned to normal.

Ivyrial came falling towars the ground, but regained its flight. It made a loop and went up into the air.

“Ivyrial, Solar Beam.” Ivyrial opened up its beak and a blast of solar energy headed straight at Starly.

“Starly, Cyclone Dive!” said Josh. “Take all of that energy and use it to backfire on them.”

Starly did so and began spinning towards Ivyrial. The Solarbeam began o spin around Starly instead as he crashed against Ivyrial. Both hit the ground hard and a huge dust cloud shot up. The dust settled and both were laying unconscious.

“It looks like a draw.” said Flora. “That means only one solution. Do you have a second Pokemon?”

“Yes, I have my Starter, Houndour.” said Josh. “Houndoom, Come out.”

Starly returned and Josh released the fire hound. He growled ferosciously and pawed the ground.

“A Houndoom,” said Flora, returning Ivyrial. “I don’t think I have much of a chance, but here we go. Cacturne, lets go.” The same Cacturne as before flashed out. The same one that beat Malix was standing before him.

“I see you are marvelling my Cacturne,” said Flora.“Well, you should be. I save Cacturne for my top challengers. You certainly are one. So, lets battle. Cacturne, use Death Spike.” At that, Cacturne raised up his hand and a black spike grew out. His beaded-up mouth curled into a sinister smile. Just like that, he vanished instantly and reappeared right in front of the hound. Houndoom was cut in the leg and fell to the floor.

“Houndoom, no,” said Josh.

“Cacturne, now Spike Cannoon.,” called Flora. But befroe Cacturne was able to attack, Houndoom erupted in flames, scorching Cacturne. Houndoom stood up and charged at the scorched Cacturne. The cactus was slammed in the stomach and flew backwards.

“A full-power Flame Charge,” said Flora. “Nice, but that wont be it.”

“Yes it will,” said Josh, “All-out Flamethrower now.” Houndoom opened its mouth and all the fire on his body became consintrated aaround his mouth. Then it was released in a huge blast that scoirched the entire path. When it was over, Caturne was gone.

“What, where did it go? asked Josh. Flora pointed to the sky. Cacturne was in the air with spikes covering his arms.

“Now, you shall see why my Cacturne is the best,” said Flora. “Behold his ultimate attack. Cacturne, Spike Storm.”

Cacturne raised his arm to the sky and dove at Houndoom. The spikes on his arm came over him as a tornado as he landed. Houndoom was panting hard and preparing for the worst. The cactus then raised his arm to Houndoom and the spikes began slicing Houndoom all over. The hound fell to the ground unconscious with scars over his body.

“Its looks like I won the match,” said Flora. “That wasn’t a bad battle. You worked hard, but try again some other time. Cacturne, Heal Needle.”

Cacturne nodded and jumped to the injured Houndoom. He created a needle and stuck it inside of Houndoom’s fur. The needle glowed white and covered his body in white lines. The lines retreated and Cacturne got up. Houndoom was still unconsious, but all the scars were gone and his hound is uninjured.

“Wow, that is so cool.” said Josh.

“Just let him rest,” said Flora. “I don’t think there is any other challenger right now. So, you can leave him here and go check out the town.”

“Alright, sounds good to me.” said Josh. He patted Houndoom and made his way to the exit. Maria was waiting for him along with Nathen.

“Hey, Josh,” said Nathen. “You rushed off earlier. I guess you were eager to battle Flora. Too bad you lost, though.”

“Don’t worry, I will get stronger,” said Josh. “Its time to catch me a team of Pokemon for now. And I should train my Starly.”

“Wow, you have a Starly,” exclaimed Mairia. “I love those birds. Please allow me to train you. I could take you to my house in Kinleaf Forest.”

“Okay, sure.” said Josh. Just then, Flora came up behind him.

“You do know that you need some Pokeballs before you catch more,” said Flora. “I could help with that. Maria, could you stay here and watch Houndoom for a while? I am going to the Kinleaf Town store. After that, you could take him to the house.”

Alright,” said Maria. Then the three set off as Maria stayed behind. Flora took them to a small house with a sign that read “Town Shop.”

The trio entered. There was a man with a brown trench coat standinding behind a counter. Behind him were three rowss of supplies. The first row had a set of red Pokeballs in their travelling size. The second had a set of gold mini laptops with a Gildor emblem on each of them. The top row was empty save for a gold and blue Pokeball.

“Well, hello, Flora,” said the man.

“Hey, Lance,” said Flora. “I came because I got a new promising trainer. I would like you to give him my personal starting supplies.”

“Okay, sure,” said Lance. “But I can’t keep doing this. This is the last time. Who is this trainer?”

“Josh Terron,” said Josh stepping forward. Lance reached under the counter and pulled out a pounch that was attached to a belt. The pouch had three layers with a clear front pocket.

“This is Flora’s personal starting kit,” explained Lance. “The back pouch has 300 cash for shopping. The middle one has six Pokeballs all empty. The clear slot in fron is for your trainer’s card.”

“Thanks,” said Josh. He fastened it around his waist and checked the contents. Sure enough, the back had a set of bills. The middle had six empty Pokeballs in travelling size. Josh pulled out his trainer card that he retrieved after the match and slid it in the front with his name outwards.

“So, now we are ready,” said Nathen. Then he eyed the blue and gold Pokeball. “Is-Is that the Encore Ball?”

“Yes, one of the few made,” said Lance. “Much stronger than a Master Ball. It instantly catches any Pokemon with ease.”

“Is it for sell?” asked Nathen.

“For 200,000,000,000 dollars,” answered Nathen.

a

“Expensive,” remarked Nathen. “Oh well. see ya.”

“We should go.” said Flora.

“Thanks again,” said Josh. The trio left and headed back to the gym. As they entered the gym, they were surprised to see Houndoom up and training against Maria’s Ivrial. Mariia was in the gym chair.

“Hey, Josh.” said Maria. “I just thought your Houndoom needed some training.”

Those are the first three chapters of my fanfiction. I hope you like them. I still got a long ay to go though.

For the record, it's common practce to keep using the same thread for a single story, even when you have new updates and/or revisions to make. In the case of the first, you should add new chapters as separate posts to the ongoing thread (and, before you ask, you are allowed to revive your own fics in the Writer's Corner, even after the two-week necromancy period has passed). When dealing with the latter, it's best just to use the edit button for the OP and copy-and-paste or manually edit the chapter's post as you want.

In any case, do you want your other thread locked since you're using this one? It's just a formality so you can focus on this thread instead.
