This Discussion we will talk about the nintendo characters who have been completely igonored. Games that deserve WAY more credit then they get. Im going to kick the conversation with one of my top 3 favorite games ever.

This is EarthBound, a RPG for the SNES. You know the game that ness is in. THis is about a boy named Ness being a chosen boy with psychic powers to save the world from the gigyas (marshins). There are 3 other chosen ones who you see throughout the game. Paula the girl who has strong psychic abililtys, Jeff a boy with no powers but can rebuild things and is very smart, and Poo (dont laugh) he has some magic and has very strong attacks. Such as PSI starstorm, Ness uses this in SSBB as a FS the FS trophy claims that poo taught him this PSI but never happend in the actual storyline. So the game is a RPG similar to Dragon Quest. With other features to make it unique. Such as praying, psychic abilitys (PSI). In SSB its pronounced PK the reason is because they call it PK in japan and they dident translate it overseas. This RPG is also very original, instead of swords and dragons and spells used as normal RPGS, There are alieans, hippies, drunk old men, cranky ladys, and more monsters. The weapons go to frying pans, bats, yoyos, and bottle rockets. And you use PSI instead of spells. Also the game is quite humorous, for a video game the jokes are pretty well done.

Now why did this not do good? The reason is because of 2 things.

1. The graphics werent that stunning for the SNES.
and
2.People dident like the original idea it had.

If you have a SNES or someway to play it, buy it. Its really good. And dont worry its coming to VC soon :D!

Rating:

presentation: 8/10 Good box art and epic begining gets you pumped before the game starts.

Gameplay: 10/10 A perfectly smooth RPG, nice controls easy to learn play.

Music: 10/10 Forgot to mention, also had arguably the greatest soundtracks in a video game. Smooth with awesome 16 bit tunes and good way of fitting the mood.

graphics: 6.5/10 Back then the graphic werent so good. But you can still notice what is what.

Replay value: low Once you beat it once. you wont play it for another month or so.

SCORE: 8.5/10

Authors opinion: 10/10

Have you have any nintendo characters who think arent getting what they deserve post it here.

EarthBound didn't sell largely due to a botched marketing campaign. The tagline was, "This game stinks," and some games came with not just the guide, but an air freshener to prove their point. People took it seriously and chose not to buy it...

This was also during a time that Japanese RPGs were poor sellers (aside from Final Fantasy); one that makes fun of other Japanese RPGs would fly over everybody's heads.

Nintendo should buy back rare
1)because the newest DK games from nintendo suck.
2)so we can finally have all the good N64 games on the VC
3)Banjo and Kazooie. these guys kicked and now they look weird in thier 'future remake' to the xbox 360, but probably would of looked alot cooler/original on the wii and most likely of made it to brawl before mega-man.
4)also remember Donkey Kong Country 64??? best game ever of it's time and it's system. it was uber cool to as more than one kong with upgrades and WEAPONS!!!!!throwing oranges randomly was my favourite part or getting to the fairy place with Chunky:p also it had one of the best boss battles ever IMO. notice the title of the game...DKC 64....what do alot of new Wii games have now in their titles...Wii:O...Donkey Kong Country Wii.

i really want rare to come back becuase did you ever wonder what happened to the great N64 games formula??? it was called rare.

Lanky Kong FTW

Snowboard Kids 1 and 2 on the N64 are probably the most enjoyable games on the console. They were pretty overlooked, especially with other more popular racers like Mario Kart and Diddy Kong out. They're the N64 games I still play the most and hope they make it to VC because they were really under-recognized.

They did make a DS version, but from what I've heard it was bad and they just messed it all up. :/

Ophie: Forgot about that fact, thanks for saying! :D

LofaKing: Rare NEEDS TO COME BACK! Nintedno is so much better with it. I would love to see a DK 64 DS :p.

Porygon: Snowboard Kids was great! I played the DS version at my friends house and it stunk... but i would love to see one hit the wii.

I would like to see some more kirby games made cause i love the ones for the snes and the newest one for the ds was pretty good too but they need one on the wii and make the old snes kirby games on the VC :D

remember when they announced that Kriby game for the game cube called "Kirby hitch'n'go" or something like that...well my guess is that got kicked because of the wii and they though "maybe this game would be great for the Wii" turns out they trashed it.

we need some good racing games like the OLD Need for Speed you know where you either run away, catch people by hitting their cars, or normal tounrments with the lap knockouts and gold silver bronze. i hate the new 'street' style of Need for Speed.

it's been awhile since a james bond game though. i love shooting hats off:p

we need the old pokemon stadiums where there are mini games, all the gym battles, random class battles, and being able to play with any pokemon.

Snowboard Kids 2 provided an almost perfect item and weapons system. They were well-balanced and required skill and strategy to use correctly, there was a 1st-place item that didn't seriously cripple the 1st place player, and most importantly, these items and weapons still would have a huge impact on the race--ignore them, and people might end up lapping you no matter how good you are.

There was a Snowboard Kids Plus for the PlayStation, but Atlus never brought it outside of Japan.
