New Raihan and XY-Era Promos Releasing for Japan’s “Extra Battle Day” Tournaments!

Japan will be holding 2024’s “Extra Battle Day” tournaments starting January 1st. These are Expanded tournaments held every year at Pokemon Card Gym events.
This year all participants will receive a new alternate art Raihan promo and an “Extra Battle Day” booster pack.

Each booster pack will contain one of twelve promo cards from the Expanded format, each with the event’s stamp. These promos are reprints carrying “SV-P” numbering despite releasing in the XY era.
Those who win each tournament will also receive two more packs.

Pokemon should have expanded regionals back and have a reprint pack of the most used cards each year but give them a difference to them like foil/stamp to keep collectors and players happy. Or do them by block like how the modern player packs are handled

They're all reprints existing as normal cards from their respective sets, so nothing too sad… Plus, e.g. Tapu Lele GX also got some promotional treatment, so it isn't like the cards have no english equivalent.

Just because they are not yet playable in PTCGL doesn't mean they are not in Expanded. PTCGL is not the only way to play the game.

Not sure what you’re talking about here. Pokémon Company made it very clear that BW/XY cards will be added in a future update when they first announced migration. Plus both Japan and the 200+ player tournament circuit that happened here in the US earlier in the month still run BW/XY+. Not a good idea to spread misinformation.
