News New Pokemon Silvally, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o, Steenee, Tsareena, and Ribombee!

Four things about this:
1. That Alolan Muk is super cool looking.
2. Kommo-o is totally going on my team for the Elite Four.
3. Ribombee is adorable.
4. Can this game just come out already? I'm tired of the suspense!

I was really put off by Tsareena. It's actually made me not want to use Bounsweet now. Ribonbee is freakin' adorable and it's going on my team and I will love it forever <3

Parental bond nerf is welcome. I like Alolan Muk, even if it is creepy, because I was expecting it to be just a bigger version of grimer.

Again, Silvally is awesome. Period. No doubt about it. Feels more like a form change though... I find it interesting how they're doing things this gen: we have a pokémon whose form change could have been its evolution (Wishiwashi) and now a pokémon whose evolution could have been just a form.
RKS System? Are there any doubters left as to whether Type: Null/Silvally have something to do with Arceus?
RKS = Arceus.
Okay, this is nitpicking but I don't like that. The correct pronounciation of "Arceus" is the one with the soft 'c', not the the one with the hard 'c' that the english dub of the movies came up with. I'd prefer if they had just kept the "AR System" name the japanese use as it is already a pretty obvious reference to ARceus. I think I'll just call this ability RCS System instead cause even though it's not that big of a deal, it annoys me beyond belief.
-----------------

Hakamo-o is one of the few middle stages that actually looks better than its evolution. I wish they had kept the upright stance for Kommo-o. It's doesn't look that bad but that detail just makes me feel "meh" about it. Still, it's the best candidate for the Dragon type of my planned team.

Steenee, Tsareena and Ribombee are all nice designs and look cute. Not disappointed in that regard.
My only note is Steenee and Tsareena could probably have a secondary-type. Not that I think every pokémon needs to be dual-typed but we already have Fomantis and Lurantis as pure Grass-types. That makes it kinda boring.
I also think Ribombee will evolve second time.
Isn't Bruxish's Dazzling ability the same as Tsareena's Queenly Majesty ability, or is there something i'm missing here.
I was going to say the same. Weird because they don't usually introduce abilites clones in the same generation (other than Gen 3, but that was the debut of abilities). I believe the only other time they did that after gen 3 was with Turboblaze and Teravolt in Gen 5 but that was because they were the signature abilities of the cover legendaries.
-------------------

I highly dislike Alolan Grimer but Alolan Muk is a totally different case. Alolan Grimer is pretty much a recolor while Muk has a more detailed design and color variety. It looks like a living psychadelic trip which is pretty cool to me. It also looks more intimidating than regular Muk. Overall, it's an improvement over the original. I only find it uninteresting that its type change was just an added Dark-type, which they don't really explain why it became one specifically. Sure, Poison/Dark is a good defensive typing but I could easily see this being Poison/Rock due to the crystals on its body.

Speaking of Rock-type, with the newest Kahuna being a Rock-type specialist, there goes down the thoery of the guardian dieties having the same primary types as the Oricorio forms. And I guess this means the guardian deity she uses is probably a Rock/Fairy-type.

No date for the next news dump. I hope we don't get another one! I can't take more spoilers!

Tsareena and Olivia both have fine legs

Anyone else think that they're on track for releasing the entire generation before November 18th? I like the new stuff they're posting but I don't think I want the whole Alola Pokedex released before the game is.
Were they doing this much in terms of releases before X & Y? I don't remember. Did the spoil the whole gen beforehand?

So Silvally is an Arceus clone made to fight UBs and belongs to Gildeon, who could be an UB... The plot and speculations thicken.

Kommo-o is amazing and does Dio Brando proud. Definitely using.
Tsareena has got very... impressive... hips.
Rimbombee is adorable and I'd use one if I wasn't already using Mimikyuu as my Fairy.
So Alolan people imported Grimers to eat trash... Grimers eating Trubbishs...

Most of the XY Pokémon were revealed beforehand.

Off the top of my head, the ones that weren't included the final starter evos, the Goomy line, the Grass/Ghost lines, Klefki, Bergmite/Avalugg, and Zygarde (plus the Mythicals, obviously). I could be wrong about some things, but I'm fairly confident those were the only Pokémon not revealed before release.

Seems like we'll probably have a similar number left to discover once Sun/Moon come out.

Gladion? Ultra Beast? Well, there goes my headcanon. *sobs*

Concerning Dazzling and Queenly Majesty, they do have some differences based just on the wording. Dazzling stop the priority move from hitting while Queenly just outright blocks it. There may be a catch somewhere with this, but as of now I have no idea if this wording is just cosmetic or what.

Don't worry, I said could be just based on speculations some of us did when Gladion was revealed.

I always thought of Ultra Beasts being Pokémon/human hybrids made for the purpose of destruction, with the DNA of a Pokémon and the memories of a human.

Queenly Majesty is a nice Ability and can cause problems for Talonflame users who do not know Flare Blitz exists. :p

No seriously; that Ability is really nice and can cause problems for those people who like to use Priority moves.
One thing I noticed is that it's just Priority Moves it says nothing about if it's offensive or defensive. Which if that's the case you better not be planning on Protect saving you because that is priority. It also would stop Prankster, Aegislash from going back to Shield as it can't King Shield, Fake Out from slowing you down.

Isn't Bruxish's Dazzling ability the same as Tsareena's Queenly Majesty ability, or is there something i'm missing here.

All in all, awesome trailer. I'd really like to use Ribombee on my adventure team, but i'm already using Vikavolt, so i might just use it in my second playthrough. I know it says that only Tsareena can learn Trop Kick, but i feel like Hitmonlee could also learn it in the same vein as Blaze Kick (though that wasn't until 1 gen later).
Oh yeah: well if anything Tsareena has no issue being in front of Pokemon Bruxish has no desire to face: examples being Talonflame and Breloom.

Welcome to Team No Cutting in Line. If they have the right stats they are going to be amazing Pokemon.

Hmm... Maybe Dazzling only stops priority moves that do damage (Aqua Jet and such) while Queenly Majesty stops all priority moves (both Aqua Jet and Protect, for example).

---------------

Anyway, Multi-Attack seems to be a physical counterpart to Arceus' Judgement.
Also, Kommo-o's Clanging Scales's japanese name is Scale Noise. That means it's probably a sound-based move. I find it ironic that a Pokémon with Soundproof has a signature move that is sound-based and as such, can't use it on other Kommo-o with Soundproof (or any other pokémon with Soundproof for that matter).

That's my conclusion too. Queenly would be able to block Protect while Dazzling wouldn't.

Allan Mukherjee is a huge improvement on grimer. And seeing kommo-o in game really redeems it. Honestly there are no bad pokemon in this update. But can we talk about Olivia though look at those legs

Actually that's the correct pronunciation... You might not like it but that doesn't mean it's wrong.

You're free to call it whatever you want, though.

Well...

Silvally was expected, and it's at least a better name than type:null. What were they thinking. The dragons... meh; a little bit busy, perhaps with all those scales, but I don't care much.

Ribombee, on the other hand, I care; it's really cute, not my thing, but cute; who knows? I might try to use it, but I fear it will end up like masquerain; a pokemon whose design I love, but never use.
Steenee is adorable; I don't even care about having two grass types, I'm using her and lurantis; tsareena on the other hand... I can't quite get where they're going with her; royalty and kicks are not very compatible; I love the information, and the ability (how ever could they not give that to ninetales?), but the concept, it doesn't seem to mesh; the boots, the covered mouth, the proportions... it feels a little haphazard? maybe its movepool will clarify something, since it isn't fighting, despite "kicking" evidently being central in the concept.
Wait, how was that mortal kombat fighter called? I know all the women in that game look the same, but there was one who was royalty and kicked? they already did the chun li/cammy reference in mega lopunny, so who knows?

Grimer didn't end up pointing to hillbilly-ness, only in the design; a fairly boring information, though; how is it that alolan trash makes them mutate but, say, the trash from castelia's sewers doesn't? what do people eat in alola? uranium-235? Muk might be an oil spill, but it still looks so weird; evil as it gets, but weird; I feel the place these two took in the pokedex could have been given to more interesting pokemon, with a more interesting typing.

And is it me or there are far too many pokemon with signature moves? or will those be given to other pokemon too? just today we got three new seemingly unique moves perfectly adapted to their pokemon, and I seem to recall we had some others in previous reveals.

Alolan Muk is what happens when Muk eats a Miracle Fruit. Hypernova Muk! It's tied with Alolan Ninetales and Alolan Exeggutor for my favorite Alolan form. I really like how Silvally is a Mini-Arceus, but better looking. Remember what I said about Kommo-o earlier? I take back not liking it. It's pretty awesome. Ribombee is currently tied with Butterfree and Scizor as my favorite Bug type. So adorable! Tsareena is Absol-utely majestic (Not as majestic as Mega Ampharos, though) and queen-like. Also this confirms the no gyms thing, I guess. And maybe Wild Dragonites? Because why would they just put Dragonite in multiple trailers? Maybe because she's the original dragon?

Actually, no. Just because the english dub uses it officially, doesn't mean it's the correct way to pronounce it. The japanese one uses the soft c. In Portuguese (my language), it also makes sense to use the soft c. I've been searching and even in English, the c is used a lot more often with the soft value when placed before the letter e, despite there being exceptions. From what I read around, it seems they went with the hard c sound in UK because otherwise it sounded similar to "Arse".
I'm just stressing on this subject because I'm kinda obsessed with saying things right and I like to study languages.
