My dog has problems

Hey everyone... I just wan't to see if I could get an anwwser to this:

My dog is great, cute, friendly, cuddly... However, he has problems with other dogs. Whenever he sees one, he FREAKS OUT. I mean total, freakout. He starts snapping at them, barking straining toward them... espescially if they are off leash. So we hae to be really careful because if he bites someone.... Anyway, has anyone here ever had that problem and if so, how did you deal with it? Oh and the dog's a Welsh Corgi.
 
My dog had the same problem. One time she ran out of the house and body slammed this other dog. They sued us, so I understand why this is bad lol.

What we did was have her trained. If I remember correctly, the training was 8 months. They taught her to not bark at other dogs, listen to commands such as "heel" or "stop". Of course dogs will bark occassionally, it's just their nature. But the training helped a lot. The only thing she barks at uncontrollably is cars that make a lot of noise. When I walk her she rarely barks at other dogs, but even when she does, it's not crazy, mad, I-want-to-kill-that-dog bark.

If you really care about your dog, then training him/her might be the way to go. I don't know how convenient that might be for you, depending on where you live and stuff. If training costs too much money or you just don't have a place for training in your area, then maybe try training her yourself somehow. I bet there are guides online.
 
My dog is a year and a half. Whenever we go out, my dog destroys something. She's deathly afraid of loud noises, other dogs, and large trucks. Not matter how much we train her, she dosen't get out of it. For you though, training if the best bet. Teach commands with a clicker can be effective. Or saying "eh eh!" whenever she acts up.
 
My dad's a veterinarian, and when our dogs acted up, we would use a spray bottle, or you can give them a small flick on the top of their nose (people will say not to do this because it damages the dog's nose, but that is NOT TRUE). Both are pretty effective. And yeah, if you need, you can get a professional.
 
Its like most other Dogs, They just assume everything is their territory, and hate other dogs it doesn't know well. Most dogs do this.

But what would I know, I'm a cat person. My problem with dogs isn't them being around, its that when they bark I get freaked out, its always been than way. D=
 
If you know Skinner's psychological findings, you would hit him every time he acts up. That way, he'll learn better not to do so.
 
Was your dog ever in the pound? Mine was and he did the exact same thing. We just gave him 2 years of Professional dog training and Presto Change-o!

No. I rather use a loud "Ah Ah!" to alert them and get there attention. Or, a clicker or distrating noise can also work.
 
Violence Zyflair? What if your puppy was a cute Eevee?

But I get what your saying, humans use violence as a term of dominance.

I wouldn't hit him, but like I said, it does work to give them a flick on the nose, or use a spray bottle.

@The clicker and flick on the nose: I'll try the filck, but usually it's to dangerous to but your hands close to him in that situation D:
