I'm sorry GENESECT'S ABILITY IS STACKABLE? Yeah let's just make Steven's Metagross self-sufficient, not to mention Genesect is a solid attacker in and of itself. "But they can just boss it into the active" we got Latias which can ALSO become an attacker under Metagross AND Air Balloon is back. Metal becoming stupid powerful
Well, Trashalanche Garbodor didn’t see play during its entire lifespan. It fell off hard during the rotation after 2018 Worlds because Max Elixir and Sycamore rotated and there weren’t any more pedal to the metal turbo decks it could cheese. To make matters worse, Garbodor in 2017 got to benefit from popular tools being both Items and easily removable, neither of which is currently true of standard. To top it off, Trashalanche Garbodor had access to Garbotoxin, which also rotated at the time Trashalanche Garbodor fell off. 30 damage per item probably isn’t enough to be a top deck.
Archeops is strong, just bear in mind it’s a stage 2 in a world where you can just Arven for TM Devolution. TM Devolution probably works better than Archeops for spread style strategies, since it can be copied by anything from a wall to an expendable evolving basic to a used on-drop support Pokémon.
Genesect ex is definitely strong. Somebody earlier mentioned that it’s a good fit from Gholdengo ex. The criticism of it being a liability in Archaludon ex is definitely valid, though.
That’s the thing I find weird about Baxcalibur. What more could it want than Chien-Pao ex and Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex? Even Radiant Greninja wasn’t enough to keep Baxcalibur relevant through 2024.

Anyway Tirtouga, Archeops, and Genesect are all fantastic, though Genesect's attack is way too expensive. I had hoped it was [M][C] based on the cropped leak but they should've bumped the resistance higher if it was gonna be anything but 2 cost.

Tirtouga is never getting a day 2 lol, imagine trying to play a fossil into Budew meta
I don't care that its gen 5, I want Arctozolt ex.. 
If you think that Genesect is going to be bad then I dont know what to tell you. The turtle is debatable but I can totally see them printing a Pokemon Research Lab 2.0 one of these days, perhaps in the set where we get the next regulation Cover Fossil and that might also come with a better Carracosta. TPC does it this a lot where they print pieces to an archetype in different sets.
There's also a distinct chance we get a Lenora supporter that uses Fossils. If Fennel of all characters got one then Lenora will probably get one as well.
