And I'm saying it's not a valid standpoint.

And I was kinda talking to darkrai1246, because he agrees with that standpoint.

"Why change?" is very conservative, you know that right, NN? If nobody ever cared about change, we'd still have an absolute monarchy. Care or don't care, I don't care, changing you won't do much anyways :p Just know that I have absolutely no sympathy for people who don't want to change just because of habit. But you probably knew this already, so whatever.
Asians are conservative.

EDIT: But that's not the point. I mean, being a cat-holic or not isn't going to change anything. It's not like it hurts anyone. So who cares? As long as I don't discriminate.

maybe those ppl who sit on thier lazy butts all day should get a job, even if it means mccdonalds or some thing that lets the economy flow a little easier if they heavily tax the richer ppl then they will not want to wrk as hard. aka communism/ russia

also do u think nobama woulkd tax himself so heavily?

that would be a big fat NO

RE: Just plain vote!

McCain is defenitely won my vote! Even though I cannot vote yet...

You always have to be an informed voter.

Obama promises advantages to the middle class.

McCain is against abortion and that other "stuff."

I personally vote for McCain. I'm a Methodist and I do not support
any of that gross stuff. It's tempting when you want some advantages
to the middle class, but I have to go for my morals. :)

RE: Just plain vote!

Yes, because your morals > others and therefore the morals of the majority should be forced upon the others.

Why in the world do you even care if someone else decides to not want an unwanted baby which DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A FUNCTIONAL BRAIN YET? Why allow something to start gaining life when it'll just end up being unwanted, unappreciated, and probably even poor? The baby won't know it died, as it technically doesn't even exist as a baby yet. And what about Stolen? What about ripped condoms? How would you feel if a baby would screw up your chances at college? How would you feel if you barely have enough money to feed yourself, and suddenly heard you were pregnant? How would you feel if you're suddenly pregnant and the father runs never to be seen again? You can't know, because I'm guessing you're male, but I at least hope your not some apathic psychopath.

Also, seriously, a free country? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH. Free in the sense that the government doesn't care about you, yes. McCain wants to just let the banks go bankrupt. Yes, they could not take the crisis, the concurrence, they were weak, they had to go (a Hilter argument, again, but whatever). Okay, there are millions of people who put their savings in a bank, they expect it to be safe, they expect to gain a little money by saving. The bank goes bankrupt, all their money, gone, away, nowhere to be seen. CAN YOU BLOODY IMAGINE WHAT THAT'S EVEN LIKE? No, you can't. Well, McCain, being the friendly old grandpa he is, doesn't care. At all. Without social security of any kind, these people are forced to live in poverty, and if this goes on, any family having any kind of money in the bank will have to suffer the same faith. Because if nobody cares, this crisis will go on.

And learn the bloody difference between socialism and communism.
Socialism: The gouverment manages the economic situation, because Adam Smith's theory that everything works out is flawed, monopolization, abuse of the working class, to the point where they are reduced to slaves, aristocratsation, and mobility between social classes being virtually impossible.
Basically, it works when you only look at the enterprises, it fails when you look at the human beings involved.
Social security forms the foundation of socialism, it pretty much allows everyone to have at least a chance at being happy, with stuff like minimum wages, pensions, partial repay of medical costs, and so on. This to make sure nobody ends up in poverty because of invalidation, age, social status, and so on.

Communism: Like Adam Smith's liberalism, a theory which has been tested and failed (although some people still think this kind of liberalism is still the way to go, like McCain, just take a quick look at European history to see what it can do). Communism basically wants everyone to be equal not just when it comes to rights, but also when it comes to income and possessions. Or, "no possessions". Problem is that it hopes that nobody will be selfish enough to want more, and everybody will care about each-other. It actually worked in Russia, until the computer came and evolved too fast for it to be collective property.

Socialism is the synthesis between communism and liberalism, which is enough to prove that it's the only way forward. Sadly, forward is not the way the conservatives want to go.

And seriously, darkrai1246, grow a brain so you can actually start discussing this.

Some people are not able to work because there are no jobs available or because they have disablilities. These are the reasons that the welfare system was created in the first place. I know how hard it is to get a job. There are almost no job opportunities in the area where I live.

Sure, there are people who abuse the system, but there will always be people to abuse any system. We have to look towards the majority of people that it helps.

The president isn't even the one who changes taxes, its congress. So it doesn't matter whether or not Obama would tax himself.

Plus, that is not at all how communism works. Communism is a system that allows for all citizens to be in one class. Nobody owns more then the other because the government owns everything and distributes wealth accordingly. And Russia isn't even a communtist nation anymore.

And for your information, the hardest working people are minimum wage/middle class workers. Millionaires already don't work because the hire people to do all the work for them.

Do some research people!!!

RE: Just plain vote!

I'm not saying to majorly decrease the population. I'm saying we shouldn't get a bigger one.

And Darkrai, that post was really stupid and moronic. I doubt being black is what makes people vote for him >.>

1.i can understand the disabilites, but you are able to find a job if you look hard enof they just dont want a job
2.then we dont need a liberal congress
3. the millionares and the upper class dont wrk because they were sucsessful @ what there good at and thrived
4. they still run like communists: if not russia, then look @ cuba
5. hitler believed in socialism (seriosly)

RE: Just plain vote!

1. Discrimination is still everywhere, older people won't be as useful as younger employees, etc. etc.
You're generalising, you don't know everyone.
And even still, "they don't want a job", lol, yeah right, because not even half what the average human being earns is more than enough to pay for everything. Which brings me to this, how are you going to LIVE when trying to find a job? Working in McDonals day 1 is cool and all (although they don't always have vacancies, and it's not really the place anyone would want to work if they've studied and everything.) Also, if you can afford decent clothing, nobody's going to pick you for the job over some guy in a costume. And how in the world is this helping society when a nuclear scientist who is temporarily out of work is not able to fully concentrate on applying for new jobs?
2. What?
3. No, they're successful because:
A) Their daddy was.
B) They got lucky
C) They did one thing right, and now do nothing at all and still profit from it
D) They stole someone else's product and trademarked it
Your idea of the self-made man who started with 1 dollar, bought himself some bread and a sausage and made himself a hot-dog is so very rare, and even still, something like that does not mean you should have total financial dominance over everyone who works day in day out to produce your invention.
4. Cuba is the only 3th world country with national healthcare and a high life-expectancy. And lol, the Russian government is so anti-communist ._.
5. Hitler found his way to the top through the national socialists (Nazis) of Germany, correct. His morals, ideas and achievements are however in no way socialistic, if you'd do a tiny bit more research than what you did just there, you would've known.

Stop forcing all these dogmas upon yourself, seriously.

>_< I'm voting because of religion Human popularity could die down if it continues... I have my opinion and you have yours, I have my religion and you have yours... Honestly leave a helpless person out to die? THATS WRONG!!!

RE: Just plain vote!

Oh yeah, Darkrai1246, you said it! :)

If you knew that something of the sorts was going to happen, you would've prevented it in the first place. Abortion is wrong, the baby doesn't have a choice to live or die. That's one person who can not expirience life. That's even hard for me to comprehend. :/

RE: Just plain vote!

It's funny you mention that, because:
A) it's hardly even a human being
B) Without social security, you're just letting the homeless die, they're helpless, nobody would ever give them a job because they're not tidy enough, so yeah, they're dead. That can't be right, right?

And nope, sorry, I don't have a religion, better luck next time.

Also, I thought the point of a debate was to talk about our opinions, discuss them, and come to either a consensus or a conclusion based on different opinion. "I have my opinion and you have yours" is therefore irrelevant to any topic, ever, and could be considered spam. If you can't defend your opinions, then why is it your opinion in the 1st place?

luckyluigi7, no, you couldn't, read my examples in my previous post.

RE: Just plain vote!

For you are talking to me, it isn't. I don't care if your opinion is different. I don't think everyone should be getting into arguments over this. We each have an opinion, and I'm fine with that.

The 1st amandment in the bill of rights says freedom of speech, but I don't think we should make this big of a deal over it.

I still think Obama has some good ideas that will make this country better. I mean there's never a perfect president let alone a perfect person. :)

RE: Just plain vote!

First off (puts on anti flame suit) now that I am safe

secondly let me say I truly do not like either of the people on the front of the ticket. Obama has a HORRIBLE economic policy and McCain seems to vote with what is popular and gone across the aisle and compromised too much. I personally got interested in this election when Palin joined the ticket. Pretty amazing women, experienced, pro life, and good policy maker and lets face it McCain will only be able to do one term if he wins and as long as nothing major goes wrong she will be the Republican nomination in 4 years probably against Clinton that will be a fun race to watch.

Thirdly a good number of the Obama supporters need to take a basic economics lesson. Yes Obama's tax increases will only affect the rich but realize this the rich already pay over half of our taxes do you think they will be happy paying more....nope. If the Obama tax plan goes into affect rich people will leave the country by the thousands taking Jobs and services with them to other places with lower taxes. You probably say "that is so farfetched no way they would leave the USA" well take a look at California. Here we have some of the highest income taxes on the rich in the country. Because of that something called the great white flight is beginning. Basically a big group of Rich people here are moving and taking their jobs wih them to Navada or the south where the taxes are more accommodating. Imagine that on a large scale....who would end up with the higher taxes in the end, the middle class.

I wont get involved in the social issue dicussion other than to say I am strong Pro life and strongly against gay marriage.I greatly support adoption there are tens of thousands of couples in america waiting to give a child a loving home because they can not have one. Gays already get all the benefits of marriage from civil unions marriage is for 1 man and 1 woman. I don't consider that discrimination.

RE: Just plain vote!

I agree, Larcan. I defenitely agree with your last point.

I just don't want this thread to become a flame war. :/

RE: Just plain vote!

pshh its a pokebeach debate its destined to be closed for flaming.

Btw Darkrai1246 Obama is religous since you say your voting based on religion so you should vote for him.

If you guys cant tell what sarcasm is im being sarcastic Obama is religous but just to get vote from people with religion. Watch the debate at the Saddleback Church in California it was very intresting.

RE: Just plain vote!

...

When I look at a presidential candidate, I don't look at what religion he has, I look at his policies.

And why vote for religion? If a religious man who's a drunkard runs for president, are you going to vote for him over someone of a different religion? I taste bile in my mouth.

RE: Just plain vote!

I wouldn't vote in that case.

I mean like I say, each and every canidate has good and bad things about them. You just need to make an informed decision. Agreed? :)

RE: Just plain vote!

Personally my Christianity dose not control my vote but it guides it. Think Jimmy Carter good Christian man but a fool of a president

RE: Just plain vote!

ummm.. yeah, if you look at religion, that's kind of... what's the word... RACIST!!!! that Is why Obama pwns... McCain wants only the same, which we can't afford. $10 Billion/month in Iraq?? I think I would'nt vote for that (well, I can't vote yet, but...)
