The bastard still has one year++ to live. Besides, without even trying to directly support it, anytime Creatures want to print type-specific special energy (which they will, eventually), Lugia and Archeops gets an automatic boost.
Oh, I didn't even know they stopped that in Sun & Moon. I'm guessing they're all by 5ban Graphics like they were during BW-XY, so they didn't feel like including it anymore.

Hate to break it to you, but Lost Box will never die until a meta deck shows up with an ability that blocks basic pokemon.
Even then, the box should find ways to get around it by then, like radiant eternatus to bring out vmaxs. Also each set will always include an add on to the lost box, like a stronger special energy, new stadium, new pokemon, etc.
It will never be truly dead until rotation occurs for the F block, which will be very sad.
